They have to advance to the most recent Unity. Sure looks pretty. Take another year to develop the game. Fine with me> All these people complaining about unity they are improving it all the time from what I’ve seen of EA’s frostbite engine in the golf running at 30 fps it’s not much of an improvement over Unity that runs PGA Tour 2K21 golf at 60. I mean Frostbite is supposed to be the all singing all dancing one of the best engines around for sports games. Play it on PC at 60fps. The games graphics are better, not by a longshot but still better. 2K is really starting to show its age with this engine. EA's game falls short in pretty much all other areas though.

EA's game might look prettier but the gameplay is God awful. Dearth of courses as well. If you think 2k is gonna pony up for everything that goes along with introducing a new engine in this game ask yourself why they couldn't even pay a few local amateur players to mo cap the stances and swings. I don't think there is enough money in a golf game to warrant a major investment.

And EA's game totally sucks if you like to want turn off aids and play sim golf as it is so linked into that marker and the no grids putting is just awful. I hate the marker on 2K23 but on EA's game it is all about the marker it's f'ing awful. It's also all about maths and nothing about feel, one of the worse golf games I have played and just a visual upgrade from the shite Rory game for me. No intention of ever reinstalling this pile of crap . 2K has unrealistic bounce from heavy rough in EA's game it just rolls through the rough, sidehill lies they just move the ball. I mean ffs who works on these physics, obviously someone who has never played the game of golf.

I don't think there is enough money in a golf game to warrant a major investment. There was no bigger player than Tiger Woods, so there was money invested in the past. Now you just challenge these PGA players and it's so lifeless, and they don't allow you to play as them either. Seems like a total waste of resources just to have a face on the cover.
What they tried to do with 2K partnership is cater to casuals as well with different types of balls to try to get more people involved, but they don't allow that stuff here on TGC Tours which is a shame since the balls don't grab the way I'd like them to on the greens. I have a Switch and Mario Golf is pretty bad too too. Out of all of them this game I play the most but that's down to the community (course creations) and this site.

The reintroduction of the Stapleford format.
The ability to search for courses by designer, like we could in previous games of the franchise.
Less bugs and Glitches in designer. I currently have a course wip nearly finished, but every time I load it to playtest, something has MOVED. So I'm spending more time correcting hb's Bullshit instead of testing.

The option to switch the analog swing mechanic to reverse the roles of stick tempo and stick swing path in how they impact the shot result. It would be more intuitive if swing tempo determined push(slow swing tempo) and pull (fast swing tempo), and stick motion path (5 o-clock to 11 o-clock for slice, 7 o-clock to 1 o-clock for hook). The current model just doesn't correlate to the physics of the swing. In real life, I'm thinking mostly of setting up to play an inside-out swing when I want to produce a hook, not increase my tempo. A quick tempo usually results in my hips coming through prematurely in real life, resulting in a pull. If the swing could mimic reality more intuitively, I think the game would feel more realistic, IMO.
I realize this would cause a lot of problems for Societies and multiplayer, but at least offer this mode for offline play and private matches, if nothing else. Then again, there could be Societies that used this model. I'm just tired of having the game feel "contrary" because of the way its current swing mechanic produces errors that are not properly reconciled to the stick motion property.

Though pulling a stick back and forth in a straight line doesn't mimic a golf swing. You could also say a quick tempo you are releasing your hands too early resulting in a closed clubface, something I do in real life more than I would like . Personally I like that they have swing plane not on how quickly you push the stick. For example you can play a natural draw in the game with an in to out swingplane and a faster tempo. You can also do the opposite for a fade.To me it would feel unnatural to reverse this. Also how would this work for putting? Putt path has to be determined by swing stick direction surely not how fast you push the stick forward. To totally reverse the mechanic for putting would not make sense. I think they have the mechanics spot on with the limitations of a controller.

EA tried something different with it's controller scheme but it felt awkward with the fade and draw. I like the swing plane in 2K, it's not always spot on with feedback but most times I know when I hit a crappy shot.

Some sort of fulfillment or rewards for winning events in career mode would be awesome. Exclusive cosmetic items for winning each tournament would be ideal; maybe even a trophy case or something (idk if there already is one)

I mentioned this before but I would like to see 2k fix the Playstation version already. When 23 came out I could favorite as many courses as I wanted to and I could see every course I have played. Now it is limited to 50 favorites and well under 40 courses that I have played. Sroel mentioned that it is possible that 2k eliminated flyovers from the console versions to allow for the new animations pre and post shot and caddie shots. This be the case I don't think we could expect much change for the next iteration unless they make a lot of changes under the hood.
I don't play the older versions anymore though I still have them but does anyone know if they have kept the servers up for all of the older games?

And for the folks who design LiDAR courses, they need TGC 19, so that one must still be active as well. I still own TGC 1 and 2 as well, but haven't played them in many years. Some posts online indicate that the servers for TGC 1 and 2 may no longer be active, but others say they are still up? Might have to install one of 'em to see for myself.
