After the Debacle and De Belfry am happy to be under par at the halfway point. -3 in the opener but a rather lackluster +1 round 2. Still much better than last week. Onward! Round 3 a meh -1 (coulda/should been better, had a double Humph that was preventable) and closed with -4 for a -7 finish. Might get my Hogan greenie back. Onward! I noticed your score Art you seem to have turned a corner with your game. Nice one. Do we know the course for this coming week? I was going to have a round on it tonight. If it's not too cheeky to ask.

fransslabak I hope you don't mind me posting here but do you know of any true sim societies on PlayStation aside from TST? Or if there would be any demand for one? I'd be quite happy to set one up that has two two-round events weekly or something like that. Apologies for clogging the thread up. Just posting here in case any PlayStation guys are up for it and reply or whatever. Craig / Hendomedes , Wade, Colly and Eddie are big PS Sim players and I know they were both part of a few hardcore sim societies in 2K21 give them a PM or just participate in the USE threads. Mr Longpole is the link to all these societies and XBox is fantastic if you love Sim, but we need that sim hub also to connect everyone across platforms

The break did refresh the game in my mind but had to relearn playing. Onward!

Also great to see Wade's Mauna Kea GC - Hawaii course next week, the par 3's are awesome and very long Played it last night. Fantastic. I think it was the third hole (long par 3 with water) that could end a round before it begins! Looking forward to playing it. Seems like a course that could lead to a wide spread of scores. And thanks mate. Trying to nail down settings. Would love to try legend swing - I quite like playing societies with slightly different settings so they all feel a bit unique - but I'm aware it kind of puts people off sometimes because it can be understandably tricky / frustrating going back and forth so well see what happens.

I’d play legend on TST settings - but not without pitching and markers and stuff Legend is a really nice way to play on PlayStation isn't it? I can totally see where Doyley was coming from when he was open to making the tours legend when he played the game early. It's not ridiculously punishing or anything. Just that tiny but more dangerous on certain shots. It's a shame it didn't work out on the Xbox side. I think you're right on the marker. I prefer it off but that's by accident rather than design. Before joining the forum I had no idea you could use it to judge distance I thought it was an aiming tool and preferred the look of the screen without it. When people talked about intent I didn't have a clue what it was lol but the majority of people do play it that way, and tbh the developers probably intend people to play that way. No point excluding those people or expecting them to change for a couple rounds a week. When it's on I can just ignore it so it makes absolutely no difference and I don't have to adjust my game at all. I can see now why you keep it on; expecting people to play their main rounds with it on, get used to it then switch to it being off here would probably ruin enjoyment and kill participation. That said Sanctuary on Xbox and USE (on all platforms) are great places to play if anyone wants to try it! It's up now as True Sim Tavern. I've just been farting about with test events on legend with marker off but I'll stick it back on. Even tempted to have scout cam on, legend swing and no grids. Just something a little different. But anyway, I'll not clog up the thread again. Looking forward to tomorrow's trip to Hawaii

But anyway, I'll not clog up the thread again. Looking forward to tomorrow's trip to Hawaii You can change intent with marker off by moving the opposite stick to what you use for your swing. For all swings apart from putting it will slow or speed up your backswing. This is the game's mechanic to help with partial shots. Slowing backswing down will require a slower timing/tempo for you downswings. The game is pretty good at auto intent so like yourself I just don't move the marker or invisible marker back or forth. The marker does have an effect on putting distances but as I feel my putting weight is very good anyway so I don't feel like it would be an aid for me anyway. The auto intent doesn't do fringe putting very well as fudge said it treats the putt as if you have fringe for the whole length of the putt. There was an option for percentage only in 2K21 which would give you an option to slow backswing down like no marker but would give you an on-screen percentage of 60% to 100%. There was no option to change putting though it was fixed to 100% so I am not sure marker had much effect on putts in 2K21. I also don't like the look of the marker like yourself, I turn pin marker off also as I love the clean screen and and a blind shot in golf should be a blind shot so prefer having the pin marker turned off. I agree that TST should stick to marker only as there are also camera problems with no marker that requires fiddling to get a view of the green behind the hole on extreme downhill putts. I really enjoy the set up here and basically play the same set up as USE but use the follow cam. Little tip for you Craig or anyone who wants to set up more than 1 society on Playstation. You can just create another PS profile and set up another society up, it is also very easy to switch between different PS profiles. I would definitely be up for giving your legend sim society a try if I do get the game on PS again. Think it would be a great challenge and I really like the game on legend difficulty.

Not much to report. If anything, if not good, I was consistent. I followed up my +8 and + 1 in round 1 and 2 with a +8, +2 rounds 3&4 for +19 over. I know the score sucks, but I think this was my favorite week of TST so far. I think the course played very well for a crappy TST player like me, and it kept me excited throughout all four rounds. All in all, even though the score doesn't reflect it, I am really starting to feel more comfortable in all aspects of TS. Love this course and love this tour! fransslabak is there any chance of the TST getting a website upgrade which would separate the flights, like CC, which would auto assign Promo/Demo marks? I know the flight style was being considered for 3-click league, but I don't know if that entails reflecting those flights on the website leaderboards, or if it would just be done like you fellas do in here, by posting the flights manually in the forum. Either way, keep up the great work! Looking forward to getting break from the cold here in Idaho (although I did play an IRL round yesterday where it was almost 50 degrees), and hitting the warm shores of Hawaii! P.S. Great tourney Art Vandelay and congrats on your first TST win Colby!

Played a round on the current TST to see what it's like. I really enjoyed it and didn't have a complete disaster +4 I think but felt like I was putting completely blind. Any tips on reading greens?!? I tried to see where the ball went when it landed but ultimately it felt as though my first putt was how I knew what the green was doing... Do people practice on the greens to learn them or are there green reading techniques people use?
Cheers for any advice (and apologies if this is completely the wrong thread to ask this).

Colby has a great tutorial with some tips, but it really is difficult! I know for me, I wasn't taking the lie of the ball in regards to my shoes into account as much as I should have, and I have been doing it more and it's been getting me closer.

That’s great. Thanks for this. Unsurprisingly, practice is the key. This is really helpful though. Just what I was looking for. Cheers.

So my week was a rollercoaster of scoring and feelings. Quite fitting, with the darkness looming in round 3 and the course being a rollercoaster of nightmares with elevation changes. Round 3 was... strange. Birdie start, then double bogey because everything had to be slow... like really slow. One eagle on 8 to go -1 on the front. No scoring for a bit, 12 and 13 was birdie-eagle. No scoring after that. -4 in round 3, with 2 eagles, 2 birdies, 1 double bogey. Huh. Round 4 was a slow start. Scramble par on 1, 2 bogeys back to back 2 and 3. 3 birdies on 6-8 and once again -1 on the front. 5 birdies and being clean the rest of the way for my best scoring on the week at the back, with some putts finally dropping to finish the final round on -6. That was nice. -16 finish this week. Might have snuck out with damage not done and if I do not end up with more demos, I have officially beaten my set target of lasting at least 5 weeks at the top. Now I can just have fun! Oh, and looks like another about 40th place finish or thereabouts... would be 5 weeks out of 9 so far that I hover somewhere around there, either just above or just below that. Can't seem to escape that tier, I'm firmly stuck in the mid pack. That's fine though, I'd need to be better to crack higher finishes which for right now is completely possible, but unlikely with the chaotic way of my playing. I will try and maybe one week I find a soul of a better player that possesses me for about 4 rounds or so. Cheers, good luck!
