I am 100% down with default balls, there is definitely more grinding involved in this game than in 21, but it is not absurd and it should be pretty balanced out with the exception of new players by January.

Not if you have just grey fittings compared to players who have purple and orange. But I agree the scores will be affected. It will be painful for some and I like the pain. Pain will make you better in the long run. |

Not if you have just grey fittings compared to players who have purple and orange. But I agree the scores will be affected. It will be painful for some and I like the pain. Pain will make you better in the long run. You'll never get a level playing field outside of course conditions anyway, or recreationally the handicap system. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. They all have their clubs and balls specifically fitted to them. And now because 2k or whoever completely stuffed up the consumable balls, we end up in the unrealistic but unfortunately necessary situation of all using the same one. I have my preference for balls when I play real golf, I wouldn't be too happy about being made to use something inferior to those, but real balls don't have ridiculous roll out differences so it's a non issue. It'd be the same here if they'd done it properly to begin with. |

Finished my first round on CC-D and had no issues using the default ball. I only made a couple of good putts but that was all on me. Game is playing very well online, it is the single player campaign mode that is still suffering from hiccups/ lags.

I totally think we need to re qualify. It’s not so much the ball, it the bunkers are almost impossible for me around the greens. I have no idea if I need to lob , pitch or splash. Either I leave it in the bunker or shoot it over the green
Did my best at -1 for 4 rounds. I think now there is a major divide in playing ability. The guys who get it are really getting it. Where online golf hackers like me are really getting left in the dust

Where online golf hackers like me are really getting left in the dust It’s a tough change if you’ve not been using default ball and it’s a tough change if chip has been your go to out of bunkers. In a way I’m lucky as one society I play in has had an honour code about default ball and no chipping from bunkers so I’ve played lots of rounds like that (even though I scored worse) From that experience I can honestly say everyone will adapt, it just takes some practice in the bunkers and an adjustment on roll out. I’m absolutely certain everyone will get there eventually |

Just because HB wanted to try having attributes to balls (and agree they've got it horribly wrong) it's all now an issue and so unrealistic for all to use the same ball!?! It was never an issue for people in previous versions back to TGC2 with no one calling it out and how unrealistic it is as far as I can see and remember, so what's the issue now? |

Where online golf hackers like me are really getting left in the dust I am crap as well or not very good is probably the correct terminology in this crazy age..but bunker shots splashes short chips are ok if you pull back slowly and push forward slowly as well.. Now could someone please tell me how to stop getting fast on approach |

It was never an issue for people in previous versions back to TGC2 with no one calling it out and how unrealistic it is as far as I can see and remember, so what's the issue now? Tbh there are so many different swings now a ball that spins more or less isn't a big thing and never was, so playing the same ball means nothing really. Also default ball is hardly a range ball, you can get very good spin from it. Not used a consumable ball yet and still no interest in them, I want to play the actual tournament set up as I like that challenge. |

Golf balls the pros use are not that drastically different from one another like portrayed in this game. HB/2K needs to remove the course altering affects and reduce the wide attribute ranges of the balls. As it stands now, they are gimmicky, arcade, and unrealistic - which would also apply to the silly skills and fittings that people don't seem as enraged about.
