I am wireless on mine now!
I did a little investigation and figured out that my motherboard's BT was only 4.0. So rather than upgrade that, I just bought a 5.1 BT dongle from Amazon. Was only $13.
It took a little doing to get it working- Short (ish) version is, I had to disable my motherboard on board BT for the dongle to work. If not, it reported it as an incorrect driver. But that wasn't actually the case, it was simply the two BT's conflicting with each other. Next, I had to use a USB extension cable to get the dongle up within line of sight of my controller. I didn't think BT was line of sight, but for whatever reason, moving it to a line of sight made it work fine. Without line of sight, it was very sporadic. I tested this extensively, simply by standing up and holding the controller in line of sight, and then sitting down where it was not. Both places, we are only talking about 3-4 feet away, so it was not distance related.
Anyway, got it working this morning, played 3 rounds, and it is working fine.
I'm still bad, I don't know if I could tell THAT much difference between the 250 and 800mhz thing. But it IS free of a wire, and I can turn the thing on and off easily now, so that in itself is a plus. LOL
hammers1man , how are you charging yours? I was just going to plug mine into the wall charger when not using it. If you want, you can be 1000 Hz plugged in, but you have to overclock it (which takes less than 5 minutes). I still play plugged in, but really need to try BT.
Agree, seems odd to be so sensitive to line of sight, but it was $13, so pretty good deal for a pretty minor inconvenience.
I plug mine into a regular charger each night (if I remember) as I never figured out how to get the computer to charge it while asleep.
Have fun and looking forward to improved scores!

Great looking out! Thanks man! I’ll grab one. Worst case can return it if it totally screws me up 😂

I went and got a pS5 controller for my PC. The motherboard has no Bluetooth, so play it wired. I used the usb-c cable from my Xbox controller and it seems to play well. Less ransoms but haven’t overclocked anything to date. Not sure if it’s been updated yet, there was a steam prompt saying an update was available.
So now it’s time to play some more rounds and see how it performs.

Out of the box, on that video I pinned earlier in the thread, the guy was getting weird results without it being updated.

Yeah people up in arms over the price but now you can just get the 20 dollar replacement sticks rather than buying a new controller. W

I tried the ps5 DS over my xbox PC gamepad and found the opposite of many of your results. I couldn't not be "slow" and it was just not consistent like the one I'm used to. Did I need to tweak it or something?

Did I need to tweak it or something? I didn't have to do anything to have a better experience right away. I did have it plugged in. I then overclocked it (1000 Hz) but not certain that was the key. Easy to do though. The link above also has a test program - you could check your PS controller to make sure it doesn't have issues (it checks poling rate).
You could also try Gamepad Tester but I find it to be a bit twitchy (but many people like it).

Pretty sure DualSense can be overclocked to 8000Hz, whether that’s beneficial for this game, hard to say!

I received my Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller today. Right away it’s amazing how much more responsive just the “A” button is. Using the Elite 2 I always thought the game was just slow. Sticks have less tension but are much smoother, at least now I know why I hit it slow or fast, it’s me. Controller is lighter weight than I’m used to with the Elite 2 but I certainly won’t be switching back. I do have a Dualsense ordered to try, but it would tough to beat the Thrustmaster eSwap X PRO Controller. Thanks to paddyjk19 for your post. I might actually be able to enjoy this game. It’s night and day better when the servers aren’t messing with tempos! For the first time in weeks I found the game running smooth during prime time last night so perhaps we’ve turned a corner with it!

Agreed - the maximum that a DSense can be overclocked to is 1000Hz, from anything I've been able to dig up.

I thought it was 8000 as was mentioned here: Also has 8000 as an option in the overclocking app, whilst this isn’t possible for the other controllers

It was 1000 with any setting at or faster than 1000.
