Unfortunately the casual players far outweigh the number of hardcore players. It is what it is… Everyone has equal opportunity to use whatever ball fits your game best and I’m just going to try and make the best of it. It’s all we’ve got for now. Final words on balls, everyone should listen to Marie Kondo. Does default ball sparks joy? You decide! 😝 And you're so right about casual players outweigthing the hardcore ones. You just have to look at official courses play vs top creates ones. It will end at 4.3 millions play vs 30K for best ones. The math is simple, the majority of people buying this game will never know there's other courses than official. It's not clear you gotta go searchong in local match. And 2K don't even know their casual players. They wanted better online matchmaking. That's what the casual players wants. And 2K anwsered by changing nothing, expect removing the leaderboard. 🤦 As soon I saw this, I knew EA Sports will kill this game. They will steal the casuals in a flash I wouldn’t put all of your chips on EA…..

The engine will be a lot more modern than this one that's been creaking beneath the weight of the game for about 3 versions now. Just by virtue of that and looking much better as a result the vast majority of players will jump ship. The two things I think they'll do better (for my tastes) are the online matchmaking - it's almost guaranteed it'll have a lot more modes and features in that regard, any more than one would do! Haha - and, going by the tone of the trailers, it'll be a lot more grounded than what this series has become. Slowly but surely this has moved from a pretty grounded - albeit really simple - attempt at something like a sim, into what we have now which feels like a little like a budget version of the old EA Tiger games when they were played on the medium settings. If - and let's be honest it's still a big if! - EA do focus on in depth mechanics (I mean TW14 had a waaaay more in-depth, and difficult, true sim mode - tee-to-green - than these games have ever had let alone this current version) I could see it being the preferred game for casual AND competitive golf, personally. Edit: sorry! I thought this was the 'early players feedback' thread. Sorry for going off topic.

Honestly, if it weren’t for societies, I prob wouldn’t even play this game. EA would really have to bring a flawless game to get me to jump ship on 2K. Plus I just don’t like supporting EA. I use to play a lot of madden until I quit several years ago due to the fact EA just kept putting the same game out every year… But that may not stop the casual player from jumping ship.

I would certainly love to give the EA game a try (I played a lot and designed for TW08) but unfortunately they don't have a PC version.

Ea used to have country clubs at one stage or was that another golf game? But seriously even if they did bring their own version of societies, what replay value are they going to have playing the same 15-20 courses over and over again. No course designer no buy for me.........

Do we need to register again for qualifying if you had a tour card from last season? Or just play your 4 rounds and have that 3rd party button turned on?

From the original post by Doyley: Qualifying Event registration will not open until our site has updated to the new season - this will not happen before November 5th. Once the site is ready, registration will open - we'll blast this news out when it's time

But I’ll probably still purchase the EA game because I like playing the golf games.

I must say since I started on 2017 on the tours these have been the best days of golf gaming online. There's a lot of things I don't like about 23 but I can't fault TGC tours. It's always fun to compete!

I know wrong topic with this EA but how many Real Official courses does 2K have? And how does EA fill their career mode schedule? Or would the Valspar Copperhead course appear in EA too?

Don't forget that HB/2K has Pebble, Spyglass, and both Torrey Pines courses coming in the future as free DLC.

I'd been checking the main page to see if qualifying was open.. I just clicked the link to register and it allowed me. Before it was a message from last season about already being registered. So maybe to be on the safe side, go check and register if it allows you too.

There are currently 41 official courses in 2k23. Of those, 20 are real courses.
