I’ve been experiencing a number of issues with the designer and I’d like to know if others are experiencing them as well. Feel free to post any that you are running into as well.
1. Area select/delete doesn’t seem to be working very well. Super hard to control 2.increments in raise/lower tool jump all over the place and are too large 3.selecting way points on a spline is a guessing game. Also Finding all the mouse actions a bit tedious. Maybe there’s a better way that I’m unaware of. Would be much better if we could select the spline and drag the waypoints as needed without so many mouse commands before. 4. No arrow keys for camera movement 5. Can’t hide the hole paths with F10 to get a clean look at a hole 6. No bunker lips! Bunkers look so flat and lifeless. This is a big one for me. 7. Very few key commands makes executing things slower 8.trees look really washed out at a distance.
I’ll post more as I come across them.

The help menu and hole lines still being on when you go to take a screenshot is annoying. Had to go play a round and turn off green grids to get a good screenshot.
To add to your list, the compass and wind direction do not correlate for me. I set it to north but according to the compass it's SE. Must have something to do with the orientation setting or the fact that it's a ported course.

What’s really frustrating is that - bar specifics with mouse commands - there isn’t a single one on there we didn’t flag months ago. Mercifully, they sorted some of the far worse ones we had at the start, but there’s lots left to do.

rjwils30 As a fellow mouse and keyboard designer, I'm really struggling with everything that you said above, I'm actually finding that not one past shortcut on the keyboard is the same from 2k21......fustrating. Splines are impossible.

Really. Gosh, really shows you where there priorities are. Seem to be pandering most to the non golfer crowd with a bunch of gimmicks and superficial junk. Aside from the fence tool and trees which look good up close (not far) this version feels like a bit of downgrade (bunker lips) and I’m really losing the desire to design right now.

Yep, that's how lots of us are feeling. I will pass that along - they're aware that many of the top designers are underwhelmed and considering walking away, but the more names they hear that about, the better.

Splines are impossible. Agree. Part of it could be adjusting to a new work flow but I really can’t see how the mods to the designer are going to make things faster. I think the interface might make it easier for those just getting into it because it’s better laid out and clearly organized. But the processes are slow. I suspect they are hearing this to the console player.

Ok thanks Ben, good to know you have their ear and can sort out some of the major issues that are currently making designing impossible. Hoping we get something that allows us to elevate the our designs. Feeling a bit stagnated.

I was trying to delete a bunch of fence pieces from a ported course and it kept selecting nearby trees that were nowhere near the selection tool. Is that what are are referring to above? If so, yes I've seen it.

Yeah, i even tried making a super small select area and it still picked up those trees. I wonder if it's something to do I wth the size of the adjacent trees.

I'm on PS4 so can't comment on the PC specific issues. I find the interface and especially speed when flicking through asset much improved.
The landscape raise tool seems buggy.
I like the trees except at distance, it's a big step up when close but a step down at distance.
When changing from a landscape raise to landscape flatten brush, or vice versa, the brush type, size and elevation selected previously is not retained - this is really annoying me.
I like the reduced bunker lips. In 21 the lips were flat but tried to create an optical illusion giving the impression depth - that never worked for me. If they're not going to (or able to) give us proper bunker lips then I'd prefer them to be smaller personally.
And yeah the area select tool is buggy.

I agree it looks like an optical illusion up close but at any distance it looks like a proper bunker lip. I’ll take the illusion personally as I find bunkers without them look lifeless. Real bunker lips would be ideal but that will likely be next gen

1. Elevation to pin/tee doesn't change when sculpting. Kinda annoying when creating flat-bottom bunkers (Makes me do math every time) 2. Having to playtest to view my course with F10 is getting annoying. 3. Course yardage for published courses. IDK what the calculation is from.

I believe the course yardage display is showing as if the real yardage you designed in was the value in metres. Case in point, I ported a 7328 yard course over which is displaying as 8013 yards in game. A yard is 0.9144 metres, and I believe that 7328/0.9144 is 8013. That's the calculation error
