Just chiming in here—now that Dream Team has been cancelled/postponed due to lack of interest from judges/top designers, perhaps this is an opportunity to do something a little different this year? Rookie was rough last year because (almost) all the top designers entered as 'rookies', so those of us new to designing really didn't stand much of a chance. Cheers! There weren't any top designers in rookie last year

Same exact window as last year (my first course was Nov 2020). Mr 2nd and 1st, Jcollick and patlouvar would hilariously almost qualify for this one too missing it by a few months each (and im pretty sure the person who brought this up has an older account than either of them)
I was the only doofus who had no business enrolling, I promise you (same with Heisenberg the year before btw, fun fact the doofuses dont win)
The winners of this contest always come out of nowhere every year, no exceptions so far.

I just posted this link on a PGA2k23 Designer page on FB. Some newer designers might not even be familiar with TGC tours so thought it was worth a post at least.

I’ve only ever done RCR’s but have been considering doing a fictional course. Would I be allowed to enter or do my approved RCRs make me ineligible?

I'll throw my hat in the ring.
I registered here in Jan. 2022. I have designed 5 courses, 4 in TGC 2019, and 1 in PGA2K21, but I have never submitted a course for approval. So I would appear to qualify, based on the rules that have been posted. I guess this means I will need to pick up a copy of PGA2K23. But I will probably wait until they iron out some of the wrinkles in the design program.

I’ve been looking forward to this but looks like I’m out cause I have one course in the database from March 2021? Any reason the restrictions got so ramped up this year? Same restrictions as last year: effectively, you've joined the TGCT design community in the last calendar year (Oct 2021 or later). I still think its a tad restrictive. Maybe based on the number of courses done in a certain amount of time could make more sense? I don't think there'll be many eligible participants tbh

If I’m eligible please let me know, I can plant for sure but I’ve never sculpted a track in my life. It’d be fun to be involved but I understand rules are rules

Some people disappointed they didnt add more items etc but small improvements are there compared to the designer in PGA2k21 Also you have to add you details to the signup thread. tgctours.proboards.com/thread/31929/rookie-design-challenge-registration-thread?page=1#post-738814

I don't think there'll be many eligible participants tbh Yes, but I'm pretty sure when I submitted that one and only course the rules were different for the rookie design contest so I would have been able to participate. I could be wrong about it, but I know I checked when I submitted, so now it looks as though I'm retroactively being prevented from participating?

Thank you for referring me to the proper registration thread. I have now completed that. Some complaints are exactly what you describe, but you will find other complaints reported here: Terrain IssuesDesigner Feedback Issues with 2K23 DesignerI appreciate your response and will give this further thought. Thanks Patrick, I’ll still attempt a course soon so hopefully you guys can still run the rule over it and point me in the right direction to improve!

I just want to confirm. I have been working on a course and am almost complete. 1. I can not use this course as I started it before I registered (probably 4 weeks ago). 2. If I upload and it's accepted, it will not disqualify me. Thank you.
