Well you're a lucky bugger then !! I spent 4 weeks caming around Scotland back in the early naughties. My favourite place on earth (apart from the Melbourne Sandbelt !!). I'd go back in a heartbeat. My inlaws have family from the Orkneys and was fortunate to visit. Couldn't understand a bloody word they were saying. For me there are 4 meccas of golf globally; Fife, Scotland Melbourne Sandbelt Surrey / Berkshire Heath Long Island, NY A holiday to either of them and you’ll be playing world class golf I’ll tentatively add the West Coast of Ireland to this although not as many “Famous” courses but I’d put them up there with anything I’ve seen and played

paddyjk19 I like those 4 meccas you mentioned. Another potential mecca is traveling down the west coast of the US, hitting washington, oregon, california, if you had like 30 grand to blow and knew members at all the private clubs, could probably play 25ish REALLY good courses. Fun to do fake golf trips on this game and chart out a map lol.

What I like about the 4 I mentioned is that at each you’ve got 5-15 world class courses all in a 20 mile radius, a clear indication the ground was made for golfing!

Southport and Ainsdale alot closer to be updated Just an Example St Annes Old Links etc there is a non lidar version in game which i played and its decent, but before lidar it's like the bridge and the railway which i found tough to design and you can see in the non lidar picture its the same on that. In the other pic as you can see its at only 51% because the terrain is very flat but its the changing of the houses etc or improvements to the course which make all the difference and it takes me ages to design them and make changes and its about time and its worthwhile with another version there.Always wanted to play St annes old links,West Lancs and Royal Cinque Ports because of lockdown got the chance to design. non lidar My Lidar Overall Lidar 51%

Over the last 20 years I've been working on playing the top 100 links courses UK and Ireland and some of the lesser known Irish links are very underrated. Rosapenna in Donegal has 3 absolutely stunning courses, an amazing hotel, pretty village 10 minutes walk away with super pubs, and mountain and sea views to die for yet nobody seems to have heard of it...long may that continue! I can't wait for LiDAR to become available for Ireland to recreate some of these beauties😁

I've just been looking at the course and it would make a great golf trip! Donegal has some of the best golf in the world but nobody knows about it! Then if you make your way down the coast you find Ballybunion, Waterville, Lahinch, Tralee, Doonbeg etc. they’re all comparable with anything in Scotland but fly under the radar. I’m probably biased with my heritage but Ireland has serious golf!

It's been on my radar for years, just never had the opportunity/time to make a decent trip over.

It's a once in a lifetime trip down there though as the prices (even out of season) are just astronomical☹️ I'd rather play 10 rounds at Durness for the same price as another go at Ballybunion😉

Royal Troon is not Lidar but over 2 months copied the Lidar terrain into the game, going to update soon with the course changes for the 152nd open next year.they have added a few bunkers and some extra length to the front nine. Any idea Dave, when '152' will be released? Looking forward to it (and i'm not alone with that thought!)

All Done 152nd Open (Royal Tro0n) was going to test it all this week, but someone on Reddit wants there local course doing so i am trying to help him out a bit with a course file and cleaning it up before i send it him. 3 new bunkers and 8 new tees for the 152nd open. New tee on the 12th for an example another 30yards on the hole.
