Hi yeltzman do you have a list of your courses please? Keen to make sure I’ve not missed playing any!

Awesome, thanks mate! Playing some 2k21 tonight so want some good rcrs, such a shame you can’t search by designer anymore!

Not keen on self-promotion but only really play 4 courses now in this order.

1)150th open (just love playing some of those pins from the open).
2)Lytham
3)Prestwick 1851
4)149th Open
Just something about Prestwick makes me go back and back again. 

A few might make the TGC tours database going forward if the master swing by the looks of it is the way to go.

Were all the above courses LiDAR ??

I had noted from some previous comms with you that perhaps the following were not LiDAR. Would love it if you could confirm. Have played all of those many times and of course love them. So good to have the great links courses in game.

*  Loch Lomond - not LiDAR
*  Royal Portrush 148th Open
*  Turnberry Ailsa 2020 

Something tells me however that all your courses are LiDAR except perhaps for Loch Lomond as this was done back in 2017 where LiDAR was not available/.

Loch Lomond being Really updated for 2k23,had some new info with the greens and course changes from 2022 and ripped up all the trees so hopefully it will look like a 2k21-2k23 course and not from tgc1 with it being popular in 2k21 needs a better version.

Turnberry Only Lidar covers the 1st 3-4 holes which is a crying shame hopefully in the future with Carnoustie and Musselburgh some appear online Musselburgh covers half the course in Lidar.

Royal Portrush with it being my most popular played course (all down to choice) Spent the last two months updating it with the GPS from the official players guide most will not notice the difference but now the greens are spot on saying that be intresting how they play in 2k23. With the changes not getting into the game till 2023 so it will be a while before it appears in game.I am sure the version TGC tours played for there open will show up before it.

Hey Yeltz

Is the difference between the following St. Georges versions as follows ??

*  149th Open Championship - has all x4 pins from each round 
*  Royal St.George's 21(L) - is the members version without tournament objects like stands
*  Royal St.George's (Open) - does this have the 4 pins from the tournament Or is it the same as 149th Open Champ version with tourney objects but just your own pin sets ??

149th Open Championship are the pins from the event.
Royal St.George's 21 (L) is just the course pre event
Royal St Georges (open) same as above pre event with just the tournament stuff added.

So in other words i would just play 149th Open championship or the (L) version if you like to play just the course (if you can find it need to type in the . after St.Like most courses in 2k brand other versions by designers are there up to the player which version they enjoy.

Paddy is really the expert on UK Lidar if his file is more down the line and you want it,its worth having a look at.My course file only playable to knock it round without the trees etc, but i am assuming these are the things you want to look at,i think the reason i may have not progressed with it maybe how long the course is but again not really studied it to see if it could be extended. Got about 30 like this more a study of the course design than to make them playable in 2k21 etc but like everything in this game always possible to design it.

yeltzman Great list here, a lot of really good links courses.

I just played your Prestwick version earlier and came away pretty impressed. A good challenge keeping the ball in play off the tee and trying to stay below the hole as most of the greens sloped pretty severely from back to front. Hole 1 was definitely not your typical "handshake opener."

I especially liked playing through the big dunes on 15. The pin was up on the back left plateau and I deliberately played left of it off the green on the approach, to try and avoid that giant sloping green. Then I got too cute with my chip and rolled all the way down and off the green anyways. Took 2 more chips to get it to stay up close to the pin and made a triple. Really fun hole, that would play really hard in real life!

Glad you enjoyed Prestwick 1851,Home of the 1st open championship and the 17th Hole still being played as it was when it staged the 1st open over a 12 hole course but not much as changed. Some greens are very quirky and the 9th maybe a little too tough in 2k21 but overall just love it and the Lidar matched the course guide great. Thanks for the kind words To me Lytham still up there as one of the best links in England due to everytime you play it feels different each time, saying that the Old Course is now growing on me more and more.

The quirkiness is why I love the links style of golf so much. You try and predict as much as you can with how your ball will react but sometimes it just takes an ugly kick and you end up in a terrible spot. Or you get a lucky bounce that helps you sometimes too.

I think TGC 19 was better for the links courses with the punch shot. I used to crank up the winds to very high and try and get through a round only playing punch, pitch and chips with any clubs. I used to love trying to land a punch 50 yards short of the green and watch it take some funny bounces and end up close. Why they removed the punch I don't know.

I guess Prestwick doesn't host the open anymore because the pros hit it too long now?
