-4, -2, -6, -6 for -18 with two double bogies and two triple bogies
How on earth did I manage to qualify for Platinum two years ago and stay there all the time we played Masters??? 😂😂😂

I think I'm done with this game now until the release of 2k23. I've found the game a chore for sometime and the return to Master settings, which I've longed for since the change to Pro, just seems to have made the game even more inaccessible for players. I was a top 65 player on Platinum with master settings not that long ago. Quite how I rose to those heights playing on Master settings now I don't know. The swing polling seems even more random that it ever was.
I really hope this new game has been tested properly and a more level playing field across all formats for players. They've released no gameplay threads yet for the new game and I so hope it's not littered with bugs requiring multiple patches in the first couple of weeks.
All in all I've found this version of the game to be disappointing. I think we've had to make do with a game the developers walked away quite early on. Let's hope it was to focus on an improved version that we'll all experience in a few weeks...

Not taking shots or anything and a serious question but, do you think most of those who are having issues with Master now are finding it hard or feeling it's random because they are so used to the dumbed down Pro difficulty? I mean this about those who are good enough to play Master, is it because with Pro, you don't even need to concentrate to hit perfects so maybe some have forgotten how to play consistent on Master. Also, are those same players using the longest clubs they were using for Pro because it was so easy and not bothering to find their bag for Master settings?

I think there's a lot of truth in everything you suggest here. My enthusiasm for the game started to wane when TGC changed down to Pro settings. I get the reason why for the change but for me it became virtually impossible to hit a bad tee shot which previously for me on Master, was the most important shot in the game, and just a game of target practice on the fairway with an ability to work out distance control into pins. Master settings have always been about the ability to execute the shot well. Get it wrong on Pro and you could still end up 6 feet from the pin. The change back to Master has highlighted the skill aspect again but also the fragility in swing execution and how you can be so severely punished even when slightly wrong. I did change my clubs when things returned to Master after a good result on week 1 but I can't be bothered anymore investing the hours in practicing to become consistent on Master again. I hope with the new game there's swing mechanics that don't feel as clunky as they have at times on this game. I remember the ridiculous sensitivity with the putting on release of '21 and the whole red fast thing that it felt like the developer didn't know what to do for the best. Here's hoping...

For me, there's just an odd variability in tempo. I mean, if I'm too used to hitting perfects in Pro, then I should be, at worst, hitting grays on Master. But I'm hitting a ton of reds, and there's really no rhyme or reason why they vary between fasts and slows. Perhaps it's completely mental, but it does feel like the differences for many of us are substantial.

I've always played Master, Legend at the start, and have indeed had a fair amount of shots where I'd be like, "Really? No way?" but was just wondering if it's more often for peeps excuse they may be just adjusting back to Master and it's that adjustment that's catching them out.

There's definitely something in that, at least as far as the level of concentration needed. But this week I gave it everything I could, and in the 3rd round was going along nicely for most holes, before I was suddenly hitting extreme red fasts every other shot. Even after walking away and coming back fresh, and occasionally even when I was convinced it should have been a red slow (because I was trying so hard to avoid the red fast). I was heading for a round somewhere around -4, which I would have been fine with (I finished the season in Kinetic, averaging around -11) but the red fasts cost me 8 shots in the space of 4-5 holes. Something seems off.

This is my take on this game. I play on an Xbox Series X. I play in the CC Tour with pro setting. I am trying to play the exhibition tournaments on master but the inconsistency of my swing is killing me. I hit either red fast or slow, so with each shot I take I have no idea where it is going. I shot a +41 which is pitiful. Now if the idea for TGC Tours is to get feedback on master settings to decide on what to do in PGA Tours 2k23 that's fine, but how do they know what the swing is going to be like? I know my ability is not with the master setting so I am resigned to play with the pro setting. I don't understand how people say pro is so easy as I concentrate and still have trouble. As I remember people complained that master was too hard (but that's because HB Studios don't know how to fix it) so TGC Tours put everyone on Pro. Now Pro is too easy for some. I am not complaining just stating how I play the game and what my results are. I love this game and I respect everyone's opinion in this forum. So hopefully you can understand this is my story on my ability to play this game. I think that we have a great bunch of players in this game and all the volunteers and the TGC Tours people who make this the best golf game ever.

I think TGCT admin is giving us something to do until the game comes out. Yes they can be gathering data on this game, but how it translates to the new game is everybody's guess. Will the swing be that much of a difference? We won't really know until someone gets quality hands on time with the game and shares with us or we actually get the game and experience for ourselves. When it all comes down to it, some folks are just better than others at this game. Some folks are just better at ALL games than others. I am pretty sure that the TGCT admin will try to find the best settings to make this an enjoyable experience for as many people as possible. Will it please everyone? No. Can't win them all. Onward!

Onward! I grew to hate Pro, never thought I’d say that, but desperately trying to score 12 under just to make the cut became tedious. I really hope they’ve sorted out the tempo for XBoxers because I’m not sure I can be bothered with another season at Pro if the level of difficulty remains the same as it is in 2K21.

That's certainly part of my issue but it's not all of it. At times it just feels like it does whatever it likes on master. There are times when I just get lazy on the downswing and get a deserved red slow, or get a rush of blood and hit a red fast, that's fair enough, but to get a red fast into water then hit a perfect reload and the swing feels identical is ridiculous. That type of thing rarely happened on pro difficulty, I could probably count on one hand how many crazy red fasts I had all season. And all it does is make it impossible to work out what to do, you end up hitting a heap of grey slows trying to avoid the red fast. I'd prefer the difficulty to be more of a challenge than pro is, but random results all across the tempo windows from swings that all feel much the same isn't enjoyable, and just ruins the challenge anyway. I had more fun and enjoyment shooting 82 on a real course today than I get shooting a 67 in here with, at times, uncontrollable swings.

The lack of a gray miss on Xbox has always been the issue on Masters. We're either perfect or miles away. Do I want to be shooting -22 just to make a cut? No. I would much rather be playing harder settings but the simple fact is it's never worked on Xbox. I don't even really care if it's easier on PlayStation, I just want my rounds to be enjoyable. On Pro the game works really well on Xbox, it's by no means automatic to hit the perfect but when we miss we have the gray. I completely understand the frustration of other players who have lost interest because it's too easy on their platform, I would feel exactly the same. We've just got to hope that the next game works better, it's a simple as that. And I said before, for the life of me I don't understand the concept of 'collecting data' for a game that is about to be obsolete. But I do know this place is run and frequented by great people and it's well worth my while to be a part of it.

They are closer to pro difficulty. I know you are sacrificing distance but there is quite a big difference with tempo windows between silver and purple clubs. I think my bag is a purple driver and the rest of my clubs are gold. I think gold clubs are a good balance for tempo and distance.

I am a player still in CC-L, not to good. You're right that not making the cut 20 under par is terrible, but on the other hand if everyone plays with the Masters setup in the new game, everyone will be on the same conditions, the cut will move up. The cut will be around minus five, those of us who play a cut around minus five will have + 10. It's the same, just moved up.
