Take the top 10 percent of each week and move them up a tour .. Take the bottom 10 percent move them down a tour .. It will balance out pretty quickly I would think .. I play on champs b tour .. I'm sure that the upper 10 percent could move up and play just fine on champs a tour .. And the bottom 10 percent of champs a could certainly drop back to the b level ..
Just my opinion .. Seems like it would balance out overnight .. I may be wrong
Love the tour setup thanks for what you do

I think in season demotions are against how golf tours should work. Am sure there is a good system coming however even if I don't understand the issue with the lower tours.

Yeah there was an idea about web and lower point system that I think will work REALLY well to promote players or in certain cases to invite players to PGA tournaments. I was wondering about the US Open, since it's an open tournament, would there be qualifiers for those not with their PGA cards? Or if we had that Web point system up and running you could just pull the top 20-30 in those ranking to the Open tournament. Just some thoughts.

I don't like how current exemptions are handed out. An easy course causes loads of people too shoot low and get an exemption. I believe the winner should get 2 exemptions and rest of top 5 get 1 exemption. Other side of the coin...3 straight cuts and you're demoted.
I wish this announcement would hurry up though because I feel players that are grouped in the wrong flights are getting disheartened and leaving.

It's coming, but we want to make sure we nail it down right. And it's quite a bit of development (changes) to pull it off.

I don't think missing 3 cuts should bump you down, especially after you worked so hard to move up! lol I am playing well enough I feel I can easily make the cut in Web A and probably make half the cuts on PGA tour. Not sure really how promotions/demotions should work.
I feel like the top 5 or maybe top 10 of the web B/C and champ A/B tiers could be moved up each week but I feel to get your PGA card should be a little tougher. And let's be honest, it's quite tough to succeed with those elite players each week. But making cuts in Web is not too tough really. But it seems REALLY tough to move up.
It's really difficult to balance player entertainment with realistic expectations and real life results. The truth is only about half the field can make the cut each week. That means 50% of ALL players on TGCTours won't be too satisfied that week. It's difficult to make this system fair for everyone and also enjoyable for everyone without having a loser.
I trust whatever system you guys are working on perfecting will be great.

Any nearer an announcement on the announcement ;-) Preliminarily, we might possibly have something tentative we can offer on a provisional basis at some undisclosed point in the near but unspecified future. Perhaps.

I'd prefer TGCT not embrace the ADHD portion of our members and have so much volatility. Is there really serious discontent with how things are currently structured that we now need weekly affirmations? Seems like more work than it's worth for something that doesn't pay anyone's bills...

People that get disheartened and leave just because they have a couple bad weeks need a dose of reality...virtual or otherwise.

I wish this announcement would hurry up though because I feel players that are grouped in the wrong flights are getting disheartened and leaving. I for one am glad the whole miss "x" amount of cuts and force a demotion to a lower tier. Twice I have missed 3 cuts in a row on the top tours and it isn't due to being out of my league moreso battling with my swing. I seem to get in ruts where I don't play as often and I develop a nasty slice and it gets in my head and is hard to get over. Am in the middle now of such a patch and will now miss my 4th regular tour event cut in a row if you dismiss my 2nd round exit in the Matchplay.... I think everyone's results should be evaluated personally and if you aren't getting out of it what you put into it then asking for a demotion is the fairest way to go. IRL on the pro tours they don't miss 3 cuts and get marched and nor should that happen on TGCT. I for one know I can compete at the highest level with 3 top 10s (including 1 at The Masters) and numerous top 20s..... I do however agree with how the exemptions are handed out. It's a tricky one tho as there needs to be something to acheive in order to earn them and the round score targets do work but are definately subject to a particular courses difficulty. Maybe they could have gone with say a top 10 finish in all events will earn an exemption for the next tier above putting an emphasis on tourney results as opposed to a personal round score but each to their own and I don't think the current process is anything to really change..... And to do with your last point... The winners not progressing up the ladder quick enough or players playing out of their depth? There will always be better players constantly moving up the tiers that all will encounter week in week out with the ever growing popularity of TGCT, also with players being able to ask for a demotion and with facts behind them backing up their reasons then the players in question will eventually find a tier right for them. Which players are you pointing at?

The idea was for the flights rather than the euro/pga. I've just read a few posts here and there in the lower tiers along the lines of "how's he/she in our tier shooting that low, I'm not getting out of this what I wanted". I for one am happy the way it is, just throwing an idea out there to get people in their correct tier quicker. Seems it's gone down like a sh%$ sandwich though :-p
Anyways there is a change coming soon so it will be interesting to see.
