Honestly I do not know why everyone else is unhappy. I had an idea and shared it. Nothing more nothing less. I think it was just the tone in the way you were speaking. By no means do I have a problem with you voicing your opinions.
I think people just want some consistency across each tour and everyone has there thoughts and improvement suggestions. Thats pretty much it. I am happy no matter what happens here. At least I hope so lol

i'll disagree commish. And your point of "not happy, don't play here" is a little ridiculous.
Here's the thing. It's REALLY difficult to move up a tier if not altogether pretty impossible. I play on Web B. I barely try and have never missed a cut. I received one exemption from playing one of the easiest courses of the year in which there was probably 15-20 other players who also played on an exemption that week but only 3 can advance. I made that cut as well but the cards were given to the top 3 players which where in 3rd/4th/5th that week. I feel without a doubt I can make 90% of cuts in Web A. And i'm also sure of it as well that there are many players that are in Web A that aren't playing to that level and should be dropped down.
The problem is there's an arbitrary score assigned to whether or not you are worthy of playing in a higher tier and that doesn't make sense since each week is a course with a different difficulty.
I don't feel there are enough opportunities for a player to move up. And there are ZERO opportunities for a player to be demoted unless they specifically ask for it. I know they are working on a new promotion system so we will see how it all plays out but the current system is not working fast enough to keep a players attention. Either they are started too high then getting discouraged from never placing. Or they are placed too low and stuck there because they can't shoot under 60.
I feel the system needs to be amended and I think the idea of exemptions based on place is a great idea. Top 10 each week get an exemption. Same rules apply. Make the cut and finish in the top 2 or 3 of all exemptions and receive a promotion. As far as demotion goes i'm not so sure. But there needs to be something to move down the players that are under performing.

I might be one of the fortunate ones but I'm really happy with the tours... This is how I see my time here:
Q-school was a baptism of fire, I could have probably shot under par if I practiced enough but I didn't have a clue to be honest. So I ended up in web.com. My ambition is to join the euro tour and I've been close. Coyote Canyon got me an exemption when I shot 59 but missed the cut in my euro event. Then shock horror the goalpost moved... Put into web-a I've not managed a sponsors exemption once since, I've been really close (within a shot) but not quite there yet. This battle won't win me a trophy but I'm really enjoying fighting against my own personal goal of making the euro tour... Change has to happen to keep the growing numbers happy and to level out the tours, but you guys have a great core structure already and I'm loving it!

I'm a no nonsense guy. I'm not an Admin here, so I can speak the way I mean to and not have to dance the PR/PC dance. There's no tone about it, straight "get to the point, no bs" business. Apologies if you took offense to my approach.

But there needs to be something to move down the players that are under performing. I agree with this completely. Promotions/demotions need to be speeded up/made easier to get people in the right tours. I'm on Web A and I make around half the cuts. I'm never near winning. I should probably go down but there are some issues with that - 1. The rule is that you can ask for a demotion if you miss 3 consecutive cuts and even then if you are close you probably won't be given it. I missed 3 once but I was close. 2. If I do get demotion I won't have much more of a chance of winning. It'll be easier to make the cut but the top scores in Web A, Web B and Web C are always very close. (Last weeks winners on the 3 tours were -51, -50 and -48) 3. If I get demoted and then improve, it sounds like it will be difficult to get promoted back, this discourages me from requesting a demotion. Hopefully this is all in hand, we will see what the solution is.

My original post would expedite people to the proper level instantly ... I ran an online tourny with over 700 people , and it had tiered levels ... Top 10 pecent of each level move up each week , bottom 10 percent move down each week .. It works pretty quickly

I feel the problem with that is that players would just not post their scores if they looked like becoming in the bottom 10%. Plus, there's no room for having an off week. At least with 3 consecutive cuts you'd deserve to get relegated.

Yeah that's the first thing I thought about when thinking about how to demote people. They could just bypass being dropped automatically. I don't think moving top 10% each week would be a good idea because some people just have really good weeks and are lucky. Now you are going to move the Web A player who had some good luck into the PGA where they won't do anything. Also this is based on real world things so moving so many people in and out each week would be unrealistic.

Isn't there ready a penalty for playing and not posting your score .. As far as the 10 % .. You already have that many or more moving around.. For example there were like 78 people on on champs b , only 55 posted .. So only about 5 guys would have moved up .. 1 of those guys would have been 4th place in champs a... The other 4or 5 would have been from 20-35 in champs a .. That same week in champs a You had about 80 scores posted ...so those 8 players would be in champs b the next week ...and those same 8 would have been close to the bottom of champs b

Things are changing. Only 2 weeks left of current structure. Things will be much better now.

Yeah I saw the upcoming changes .. Seems a little confusing to try to calculate how your doing .. But I'm definitely not complaining .. I just know from running an online how quick this works .. Our league only had about 750 people in it .. But our ranking system worked great .. I am excited to see how this will work ..

Definitely looking for feedback once it's live - current plan is to have the master leaderboard hidden but if enough people want to view it to see exactly how they got their base point via reverse ranking then I don't see why we couldn't provide it.
