On the Tee for Monarch in Red we have Dan the Man Blanton catcherman22 and Ashton 'I was a pirate in my previous life Fox' Ashton Fox . The are up against Chris The Bear Grzesik Bear and Mark *I fought the Law' Lawrence. IGolfBad
Before we get started we will have 2 very special guests joining us out on the course today who will be reporting on the progress of this very important match. Please let me introduce former Cyder Cup players. Let's give a round of applause for former Monarch Les Sangster lessangster who was unable to compete in this year's Cup and former Striker Simon Morris SAM , who is on a break from TBC.
Welcome boys, nice to have you here. So to decide who will report on the Front and Back nine, we will have a coin toss. We will be using the Silver Peregrine Canadian coin. A beautiful silver Canadian coin fitting for the course chosen for the Cyder Cup. The coin features an Eagle in flight on one side and Queen Elizabeth II on the other.
Les all of a sudden blurts out 'I want to flip a bird '.. Completely appalled by his actions Simon replies, Geez Les, wait for Jingle before the coin toss. Now I 'm stuck with the bloody Queen, you moppet!!
The coin is tossed in the air and lands on the top of Inflames shoe.. The Eagle has landed.. Les you will be giving us the details of the front 9 and Simon you are delegated to the B9. Let's get this started, I will be right back, heading to the loo, and then grabbing a beer on the way back to the news desk.
Inflames :Oh what a relief.. I am back.. So Les what can you tell us?
Les: oh I have been getting some great shots with my new Nikon camera that I will share on Facebook later for you to enjoy.
Inflames: Yes, yes Les I really enjoy the photo's you share and they are quite magnificent BUT I am talking about the match up here going on between the Monarch's and The Strikers
Les: Oh, ya right well it is more like a tennis match going on back and forth . 1st 2nd holes the score are A/S
Things were going well until the 3rd when Mark missed his birdie putt which put the Monarchs 1 up.
Chris took him off to the side and gave him words of encouragement, something like Get your..sh&t.together.. I couldn't quite make it out.
The Par 3 4th hole Chris had a lovely shot to the green and sunk his putt for birdie while the others could only par. So it's back to A/S
After Chris's birdie on the 4th , Dan the Man Blanton was having none of that, no way was he going to be upstaged by Yogi Bear. 5th hole Dan
hit a lovely drive down the fairway in prime position to hit the green in 2 and sunk his putt for Eagle . Speaking of Eagles, there is one following us around, wonder if I can get a shot of it in flight!
Inflames: Move on Les! We are covering golf, not the Audubon Society. The only birds you need to focus on are the one our players are getting in their match!
Les.. oh ok, back to Golf umm lets see where was I? Oh ya, after Dan's Eagle on 5th the Monarchs were back on top 1 up. 6th Hole. Mark dropped a shot on the Par 4 and that put the Monarch's 2 up going to the 7th.
Speaking of Butterflies, I have yet to capture the Forest Giant Owl Butterfly, I hear they are quite uncommon, have you ever seen one Inflames?
Inflames: Focus Les, focus.. back to the game please.. I have to pee, my beer is empty and the Cat wants to play!! Move on!
Les: Um ok so 2 up for the Monarch going into the 7th hole and Mark knew he had to show Chris his partner that he could count on him and managed a birdie but was really no help as the Monarch were able to half the hole.
I must admit my favorite pirate Ashton has been playing quite well today, his luck ran out when his putt fell short and he bogeyed the 8th hole. This brought the Monarch 1 up going to the 9th Hole, but Dan who played bang on golf today was not worried going into the 9th and knew Ashton would bounce back if he would just remove that pirate patch from his left eye.
Well, that seemed to work as Ashton and Dan both birdied the 9th putting them 2 up going to B9, while Yogi Bear and poor Mark who could only manage a par, heard the crowd shouting Boo, Boo! at him.
Well there you have it Inflames, time to turn it over to Simon. If I may ask one question ?
Inflames: Yes go ahead Les, by all means ask your question..
Les: Don't you think this course would look better with a train and tracks running through it and a Lighthouse?
Inflames: Ummm ahhh, I suppose so Les, I guess if you build it , they will come.

What I get from the Desk is that going to the 10th Monarchs 2 up. So let's get this show on the road,
2 minutes of radio silence please..
Inflames: Oh Simon, pardon me for interrupting, but this is not Wacky Wednesday but the Cyder Cup.
Simon: Oh ya, right, will someone kill the 2 minute warning the timer and somebody shut that bloody Jeopardy music off ..ahhh good.. We are good to go
10th hole, after having a bit of lunch Chris and Mark felt re-energized and prove to this little *flutterflies* They too can golf as they took hole 10 and only 1 down
11th hole, Par 3 Chris Mark and Dan all birdied and it's up to Ashton to make this putt but it slips out and folks we are sitting at A/S going to the 12.
12th hole, a long Par 5. Dan, who usually Eagles this type of hole could only make a par, Ashton after he bogey'd the 11, knew he had to come back and sink his putt for a bird. Chris matched that bird from Ashton so it left Mark with ONE Job, just ONE job , to put his putt in for par on the 12th, that would have brought them 1 up over the flutterflies.
The crowd grew silent. He had a long putt 22 yards up, wind to NE, breaking 5 left and 7 right , would have move that marker back 5 inches, to allow for the 144 green speed, hang on, let me recheck my math.
Maybe one more yard, ya that's it, he has got in line .. he pulls back the putter slowly, then hits with a little force to get up that hill, it's going going..
Damn! He misses, and it falls short and taps in for bogey.
Inflames: Simon calm your shorts and stop screaming in the microphone!
Simon: But Flamsey, how did that not go in? Shurley, it should have dropped. But me, being the best Lag putter out there, I can tell you it was a hell of a try from Mark.
Monarchs get back into this game.
Folks, there is no stopping Dan and Ashton, as they continue to dominate, Ashton and Chris have played outstanding golf today. They took holes 13 and 14 and now 2 up. Those Jammer Buggers! Sorry folks I am a bit partial to the Boys in Blue.
Par 3 15th hole , Dan hits a nice shot, but it rolls off the green and his chip shot falls short and can only par, while Ashton is bang on target and close to the hole and a guaranteed. The Strikers need to take this hole for any chance of coming back. Chris hits fantastic shot to the green, and gives Mark some advice, *Don't listen to Simon's math on this one' and use your 8 Iron Str8t up. Mark smacks the ball, and is heading right for the hole, Simon blows out Flamsey 's eardrum screaming GET IN YOU BEAUTY!!! His ball landed short of the pin but was able to make birdie and take the hole from the Monarchs.
Strikers take and the Monarchs 3 up 3 to play.
Feeling a bit nervous the Monarchs were shaky on hole 16 and could only manage par, par while the Strikers both Birdied and felt their strategy to take the match in the last few holes was working. Monarchs 2 up with 2 to play .. Heading into the 17th folks, this is exciting!
Strikers have the honors off the tee and both hit lovely shots to the fairway. Monarchs dusted their wings off and both planted their balls right nice to the Strikers. This was it folks all coming down to this hole, if the Strikers can't win this one, they go home. Chris and Mark were furthest away and hit their shots nicely to the green, but both had putts that were on a side slope. Dan hit a lovely shot to the green and rolled past the pin and was facing a long downhiller. Up Next.. Ashton.. That Jammer Bugger hit one right to the pin for a tap in putt. Oh folks, this one is done. Chris or Mark need a bird to carry this one to the 18th but both miss their chance and it's all said and done here folks. Dan puts his putt in and steps back for Ashton to take home the win for the Monarch 2 up with 1 to play.
