Old Hammond Ridge, my entry into my first World Cup of Design this year. This course is fictional placed near the finger lakes of NY, influenced by the work of Gil Hanse, Donald Ross, and Tillinghast. A classic parkland style with tight fairways framed by trees, but the greens are meant to bring out the players creativity with the undulated tiers, backstops, and false fronts. You can be rewarded with a close approach shot if you use the contours correctly, but punished severely if you miss. This course elaborates on my first course submission on this website named Burning Bridges, with somewhat similar inspired greens similar to what you would see at Winged Foot. I plan on coming out with a tour version soon to hopefully fit the style of the tours of tgc. But for this competition and judging purposes, I hope you enjoy Old Hammond Ridge!

This was a ton of fun. The fairways are crazy tight but really fit the style you were going for. And figuring out the slopes to work the ball close was nerve racking but rewarding when you got it right. Really well done Benny!

Really loved this one, Benny. Had a great time out there. Environment was by a mile my favourite of yours and as always the golf was well thought out. Great job buddy

Great course man really enjoyed my round I absolutely loved the par 3 3rd what a great hole. The only complaint that I had was that the holes along side the river were on the front nine and not the back. What a great parkland course man really enjoyed my round. Good luck in the contest man

Usually I am really unexcited by parkland courses - but this one really stood out with a clean look and the golf was such good fun, battling with slopes to find a way to the hole and the green/bunker sculpting is really really good - top course!

Lovely course. Really like some of the planting / environment just off the course - for example behind the green at 3 just looks super natural and fills the space very well. And of course town area and clubhouse are really well done. Environment looks really nice - this kind of course relies on bunkering to provide visual interest and your bunkers look great with the contrast of the white sand and lush green grass, and with the really good sculpting and shaping. Very much enjoy this course.
Just one tiny criticism - that bridge on 12 could connect to the land a little better. But that's such a small thing and everything else is great.

Beauty here Benny! Very narrow fairways, was lucky to break par!

Fabulous follow-up to Lowcountry Yacht Club. There’s something about your designs I really enjoy. I think it’s the consistency of design, authentic environments but most of all courses that say to me driver from the tee is not always the preferred option. I personally love the fairway width you create. Not stupid wide that you can’t miss but not overly penal where you have to hit a perfect every time. And your green sites and bunkering are always beautifully crafted. This is another top shelf and an instant favourite. Keep up the great work!

It's not easy to make a course with relatively limited elevation changes. You did a great job filling all the negative space. I enjoyed my round.

I really liked everything here! The holes were very thought out and I particularly liked the holes close the hillside. Adding that sculpting was spot on too! Only wish this game could give us a tall fescue surface, it would really make this course pop.

Here's my playthrough. Course looks terrific and enjoyed my round. Thanks for the playthrough Dan, I’ll be sure to take a class called “how to build non-tiered greens 101” lol. I appreciate the feedback. Watched the vod on twitch too, thanks mattf27 for the nice comments in chat

Have just played the Tour version and what struck me is that although this is a parkland style course it has "pops of colour" and great interest on and around the course, i.e. the environment. Too many parkland courses I've played are "all green". There was a small autumnal tree, purple in colour at the back of one of the holes on the front 9 and this is when this "hit of colour in a sea of green" struck me. This really differentiates Old Hammond Ridge to the majority of other parkland courses I've played. I can think of a handful of other parkland tracks similar in nature but not many exist. Also lighting was spot on and complemented the design and aesthetic wonderfully well. bennyk315 , is there a chance you could post a routing map for the course? As I made my way around I felt the routing was very interesting. Felt like a relatively tight plot but each hole had it's own space so to speak. Thanks. Looking forward to your next effort!

Alright blueblood1995 , sorry for the poor quality but here is the best full routing attempt I can share. One labeling the holes, and one without to give a a better picture.
