Dug out GT Sport for a few spins this week and after my initial dithering about GT7 I'm glad I dug out the PS/G29 and I'm pretty excited for Friday. Hopefully swap a few thoughts and tips about GT7 here....

Want to really whet your appetite? Search for "State of Play" video on YouTube. You get 30 odd mins of info and gameplay about GT7. From memory the actual thing starts about 14 mins in so fast forward to there.

This is some bullshit.
As someone who owns a PS4 but isn't hooked up and can't be bothered to hook it up because 1) I can't stand the loud fan noise, 2) the controller I hate. My old arthritis hands cant take that small little thing. So I'm GT7'less. I love the GT series.
Now he goes and creates a thread that I'll be lurking in (not posting, no worries about me bothering you) and reading. Please no videos or screenshots.
They need to ditch the platform exclusive crap.

Looking forward to it. PS has no wheel though. Upside with just 1 TV in the house i'll have my wife and daughter as spectators - albeit a tad grumpy - who'll keep me company. Won't dare to take a bath room break without taking the remote with!  |

Not TGCT legal I doubt but I don't use it for pixel golf! |

Should it come to PC one day, hmmmmm I have a G29 set up on a Wheel Stand Pro so I can use my comfy seat in front of the screen. G29 works on PC also. Having set things up I fired up Automobilista 2 on the PC. Forgotten just how good a sim that is.  |

Just realised now that a G29 works on a Playstation. Actually has a knob to choose between ps 3 and 4! Just shows my utter noobness or perhaps i've just been blessed by being part of the master gamers group for too long.
I shudder at the thought that a G29 might actually be a PS wheel that happens to work on PC. Just. Can't. Be
I have a G29. Bolted onto my PC stand. And an old pc stand in the garage. And an old unused HD TV. Need to figure out where to put it all. Lounge TV much, much bigger. And smarter. And 4k. But smooth gaming in 4k might not work on ps4 anyway. Hmmmm. Maths is hard.

I did mention the G29 further up the thread. I have both a G29 (PS) and a G920 (XB) and both work on PC and share the same pedals for all systems so all I have to do to switch between PS and XB is to change the wheel, pedals stay put. When the kids left home we converted one of the bedrooms (barely fit a bed in it, calling it a bedroom is being generous) into a man cave. Trouble is I can barely fit all my toys in. I really need the other spare bedroom but the wife is adamant it stays as a room for visitors. My argument that they can sleep on the couch is in the early stages of negotiation with little hope of success. |

Hehe, ye, you did mention g29 Ben. BUT, you also mentioned a wheel stand in the same sentence. And then my mind blanked out as i was interested in the wheel stand. And all i could notice and focus on was that wheel stand. And nothing but the wheel stand Only when Paul posted his pic of what looks like a g29 the mist lifted. And i recalled of having to set the button visible on your pic to ps4. Or something Had a google look at wheel stands locally, nothing i can go and have a physical look at nearby. Bit pricey to buy without touching and shaking and pushing and prodding first. Will figure a way using my old pc stand to see how much the wheel adds to immersion compared to the ps controller, keeping in mind the ease of use of the controller vs something that clogs up the lounge. The man cave, can't clog that up. I live there!  |

But if you decided to get one I don't think you would be disappointed with the quality. |

I bought a Nacon controller with the same asymmetric sticks as the XB. Not TGCT legal I doubt but I don't use it for pixel golf! I meant to ask but got distracted by something shiny. I had a look at the Nacon site and some of their controllers with the offset sticks. It's hard to tell from the pics, but are they the same size and shape as and XBox controller? Or a ps4 shape and size with the sticks moved? If Xbox'ish that is certainly a step toward me considering this PS4 thing again. Or ideally a new PS5 IF the super loud fan noise is no longer an issue (need to do me some googling on that) I'd gladly snag a PS5 if there was no more fan noise and I could get an Xbox'ish controller. |
