Dear old and new TST enthusiasts, The first week of the new season is here! I hope you are as excited as we are and that we'll see many new players joining TST. Our first tournament is the Farmers Championship and, like the RL PGA Tour, we play at the Country Club of Jackson (CC of Jackson(L)). Now that you are all able to hit it straight , I have instructed the GreensKeeper at this week's course to NOT water the fairways and greens and mow them like a man possessed. Combined with some wind, this should result in some increasingly bouncy fairways and challenging greens as the week progresses. I'm curious to see what that'll mean for the scores. Do tell me if you feel the GreensKeeper and I overdid it... with you guys all improving so rapidly, hitting 'the sweet spot' when it comes to conditions is still a work in progress and your feedback is appreciated. I hope you'll enjoy the challenge and that many of you will play as many TST tournaments as possible in season 8. Make sure to score some FedEx points along the way, so that you'll qualify for the special events and playoffs later in the season. MachOne117 will get back to you with more details on that, as soon as he has been able to get his magical spreadsheets all brushed up. Have fun and good luck, Frans

I'll be giving this my first go round. I wanted to win on Plat before I came on by, so now is the time. Hoping to make a cut, though judging from how scores have been on Pro, it might be quite the challenge! Good luck y'all.

Just played my first x2 rounds on TST... ever! Rnd 1: -2, Rnd 2: +1 (after starting with a triple bogey!) How did I do TSTers? Will this be competitive enough to make the cut? EDIT: Ok... based on the reply below probably not!

Too embarrassed to state my scores. Good run for 1st round doing a turn based game with Rob rob4590 seeing how the proper players play. I played quite reasonably but blew up one hole to ruin the score. 2nd round played solo and was crap. Lessons learned (1) Miss too many fairways even on Pro swing, (2) No matter how many video's I watch I still can't "see" the putts and it's killing me and (3) Use a ghost to slow my play down. Hopefully things will improve over the season and I'll be fine if they do. Very enjoyable despite the struggles and something I will stick at until I get somewhere. Onward as the great man says!!

Nice, glad to see that you are going to play True Sim Kara….obviously you have the Plat mastered, no pun intended, but TS is so fun as you think about every shot….I’m just a mid CC player and TS is the first tournament I play each week because it makes you slow down, enjoy the course, think of your next shot like you are out there on a real course….I actually look around the entire course and see how the course looks …I play my CC rounds at much quicker pace…...But I think you will enjoy the challenge. Once you figure out the putting, and you will, I expect to see you pile up some wins on the TST. I’m a big fan of the Top players of this game and glad you are playing on the TST.

Neve be embarrassed with scores on TS. Once you get a feel of the putting you will be much better. Trust me, I’m just your normal mid CC player and I have improved my putting as that is where you lose or gain scores in TS. My goal back in masters settings was to just get a par and move on..I really didn’t care about cuts in my first season playing TS. When I first started playing TS I was in the 90s-105 range and once I got a feel of the putting I was approaching cut lines, which was my goal anyway. The Pro settings will get you to the green much easier now and you just can’t let the putting get to you, you will somewhat get a feel of reading the greens as you play each week. And the tee shot and approach shots looked super hard with no scout cam when I first started playing TS but the yardage book is the key to those particular shots….Just try to get as close to the hole on your approach shots and don’t get too frustrated at first with reading putts. good luck on the TS courses.

Well Frans, this is very good start! Good course pick, nice set-up! Course was a kitten in first 2 rounds, became a black bear after! Enjoyed my day online as much as what I'm seeing on my TV with Ryder Cup! 😜
R1: -10 R2: -10 R3: -8 R4: 4-putts the last hole... 😢 -2
Very happy overall! 58% on medium putt is very bad, but I'll take the 58% of birdie conversion too!

Just checked the leaderboard. Looks like there's an issue is this correct? I shot 70 & 73 in opening 2 rounds and my score shows as +143. Also no one else appearing on the leaderboard.
Only reason I ask is that the scores on CC appear to be good.
Cheers

Hello. My green reading skills decreased from one round to the next. In turn, my frustration increased, one could almost say in inverse proportion. I can't putt on colorful side slopes. At all. With an impressive amount of stubbornness, I constantly underestimate them. So I missed everything further away from 4 feet towards the end of the tournament. Didn't read Frans' first post until now, so I decided to complain to Frans instead of the greenkeeper for overdoing it. Cheers and good luck all! PS: Well played rob4590, good to see you back.

EDIT: Ok... based on the reply below probably not! At least you won't be last on Xbox i finished my 2 rounds behind you.I think it's my first time playing TST in a couple of years never played a game on Xbox which could have been so good but plays so inconsistent from fasts to slows every different shot you think after about 600 rounds you would get the swing right great course as well for TST event

Round 1 -9, over the moon.
Round 2 even, feel I was mooned.
Will wait to see if I make the cut. Odds?
Onward.
