Urgh - Played a practice round on Pro (Xbox One X) and boy was I bored!! Tempo is too easy even despite the issues on Xbox with tempo people say. Master I find very challenging (which I like) but I'd say 50% of the time now since the update, I score worse than +5 and sometimes in the double digits. It's fun for me playing solo here and there on Master but in competition against other platforms that don't have it as hard as Xbox it seems, no thank you! I shall be abstaining from TGCT until a new game drops I think or HB/2K release a difficulty in-between Pro and Master to bridge the gap. Thoughts and prayers to you.

If you are on XBox, just use the hardest clubs in Pro to make it feel more like Masters. On XBox there are only 5 main polling points. Perfect is in the same place for Masters and Pro. The harder clubs should still remove your Grey misses (at least on one side). The problem with Masters is that the grey windows were so small that any miss from Perfect was a shocker, especially after the RF fix.

You could always start up an XB Master Society if what is on offer here isn't to your liking. Not sure how many masochists it would attract but it'll keep you occupied until the new game drops.

Many XB players who didn't like Masters in TGCT opted not to play, they made a pro society and played there. It is the opposite of this but it is an option for you to keep playing.

Wow OK. I guess some peeps don't get it. Just because I find tempo too easy on Pro doesn't mean I'm smashing courses up. Like tempo is the only factor to scoring well, right? I don't play with a green grid so putting is harder yet so much more enjoyable - would never put the grid on ever again. Hitting my distance and direction due to wind and lie effect and TruShot is a different story - I'm not exactly bang on the pin. Added with the no grids putting doesn't exactly make me birdie hunting every hole.
Anyways, the issue is that hitting perfect tempo on Pro is too easy. From tee to green it's boring. You might as well not have tempo on. You played with no tempo? Boring as hell. I don't play just for competition, to be the best player ever. 1st and foremost I play for enjoyment and Pro is not that. I find enjoyment from challenging myself.
As for setting up my own society - great argument that! Might as well not have replied that was such a waste of a comment. I play casually and for enjoyment. I'm not here to be playing every minute of the day on this game. I have other games I enjoy too and other stuff in my life so I don't have the time to consistently play, let alone manage a society. Play when I can and want so solo play is scratching the itch atm, it's just not competition against human players is the only downside which is what I used TGCT for when I found time to play a weekly tournament.
Personal preference so I don't know why some are so irritated by it. Maybe because they feel I'm being elitest and that irks them. I'm not; just stating my feelings on Pro. You might as well just play mini golf courses as it's effectively only going to come down to putting in the higher levels. People already smashing courses up on Master.
To me this move is only about inclusivity which is fine but from a competitive standpoint for the top players, this just dumbs the game even more. I know it's not TGCT's fault as HB messed up the update causing such a big difference between Pro and Master, in fact just going too far with distance punishment causing Master to become effectively the new Legend. So I don't blame TGCT for this change but it's not for me.

I agree that it feels boring tee to green, I don't even need to practice shot now, can just rip it everytime and know it's going to be 100% perfect. Find myself just mindlessly hitting the ball and getting it on the green easily, while before there was that risk element where I can't put too much loft / spin on as it makes it difficult to get the tempo right - now you can do all that, and still get a perfectly easily. Doesn't mean I will tear up scoreboards as my putting is terrible, but it does feel bad that hitting a 'good' shot now really doesn't feel exciting or rewarding anymore IMO.
But as I stated in another thread, I understand that something needs to be done to increase participation, and therefore I like the settings right now on that basis and will continue to play to support TGCTours. Unforunately TGCTours are stuck between a rock and a hard place with how badly this game has been botched by the developer compared to TGC2019.

As for setting up my own society - great argument that! Might as well not have replied that was such a waste of a comment. It was a positive suggestion in a sea of negativity. Takes no time to run your own Society. 10 minutes to set the course up each week and you have an in-game leaderboard. Where's the work? Not sure why you are so anti. Play each week with like minded players. TGCT even give you a platform to advertise your society.

I am already a member of a couple of societies that are/were Master. 1 has had to go Pro and actually no longer runs due to lacking participation. The other I will play as and when. It's that lacking participation that is also affecting Xbox societies in Master. It's just that TGCT offers that something extra than a normal society in game. Ah well.

I really like these settings. They definitely made me focus much more rather than letting all of the numbers that used to be on the screen determine everything for me.
Yes the change of swing settings make life easier but the additional tweaks have kept that all-important level of difficulty in.
I'm a very casual Xbox player who plods along in CC-J but a round of -7 here (albeit on what appears to be an easy track) has made me quite excited for the upcoming season.

I think there were actually some reasonable responses to your initial post - setting up your own society, using more difficult clubs, etc. Yes, some were a bit on the snarky side, but there seem to be some legit ideas here to help you get the most out of the game and TGCT. Also, in my initial response to your first post, I asked if you set your practice round to the total set of changed TGCT settings...I didn't see a response to that. Are you now playing with elevation and distance set to being on the HUD and off the marker? Did you turn the lie grid off? It's not just switching to Pro.
