It’s on Georgia Match Club Oh dear, that one made me cry like a baby. Might have to give it a go to see if I can improve.

I was in CCC when that tournament was played during the season, finished with -19 for the week. I played round 1 last night still somewhat hungover from a party on Saturday night and shot -11. Round 2 coming up in the next hour or so.

Oh boy. GMC eh? That was 1000 hours ago and a whole lot of progression since that 5 over MC in CC-D. This should be fun.

Just went and had a look, wanted to know why I do not remember that track fondly despite remembering it had pleasant look to it. Was in CC-D at the time, presiding as Mayor there. 4 rounds all over par. MC of +9, finished +14. Now I have revenge in my sights. Say your prayers GMC (not the defunct auto maker). Onward!

Fast forward to today: Birdie the first hole of the event, thus going under par which is something I never did back in the CC-D event. Never went over par for a round or the event. Question is: would I make the cut with everyone else improving?

Cut should be around -16 on an average week I think in CC-D

Every birdie counts, every missed putt will hurt!!

According to the screenshot, the low -40s are still top scores overall and not everybody will shoot -40 all the time. I had -46 and felt I did okay for an Elite player 🤷♂️

More between 4-7 shots. If your problem was really tempo, you will be way better. But those who had already a decent tempo but can't calculate a shot won't see lots of improvements from last year

If I'd taken my time I'd have been disappointed not to get near -40.

I was 36 shots better at Georgia compared to my Master rounds. That's a whopping 9 strokes per round. Hopefully I'll be in the mix for promo when the real business starts!!

It's gonna be a rocky start for sure, lots of golfers are not in the good division right now

So is there really a huge difference with Pro and master settings for the Plat players in the CC events?
I see a lot of Plat players playing in the CC events now and they are basically shooting the same scores as when they played the CC events with master settings during this past season. Not all but a lot of Plat players used the CC events for practice during the season. And I see the same scores now as back then.
The way some of the talk was that we would be seeing 45-48 as the average rounds with Pro settings for the top players…
I’m not saying it is not easier but the the top players were hitting their good tempos with masters settings and of course they do the same in Pro…But now you have the players in lower Plat that will now challenge the top dogs.
I am starting to think some of the top players do not like pro settings not because it is easier for them but because it is easier for the players below their level and the talent gap just got smaller as tempo was the game changer with master settings.
Overall I believe the current Top 30 will still be the top 30. Those players are good for a reason. They work hard at it and deserve the credit.
