With marker off you can actually move the marker towards you to slow down backswing but it is invisible I have real trouble in bunkers when the marker is not set at full distance. I expect the slower backswing but then almost always find myself hitting a red fast and duffing the shot from the sand. My second shot always seems much better but I'm not sure the tempo has changed. Any tips for the slower backswing shots. Does it require a slower forward shot? Hard to attain when normal shot tempo feels a bit faster than what would be required for the example above. Thanks I gave up on partial splashes because of this problem. It was made even worse when I finally managed a perfect tempo on one of them and the ball went about a metre, which is bloody ridiculous. I switch the shot to pitch, full loft and spin, and drag the marker back to the pin, I can hit better tempo on these much more easily and the results are pretty much the same as the old partial splash.

Not a fan at all of the settings from test event (Bungalow Beach) for me & stress just my point of view it feels like I'm just hit & hope and that just doesn't feel like what the game is supposed to be (playing the part of a PGA Pro) it feels like I'm just guessing like I would irl, I don't play pixel golf to be reminded of how much I suck at golf in real life. I know that I could play a practice round and jot down notes as I'm sure the completive players on tour will (nothing wrong with that at all) but for me I'll have to have some sort of list to tell me how long my club will fly as that info is no longer available, all I really want to do is know that if (big if) I hit a perfect that I'm 95% of time going to get the result I planned on getting and to me that's the fun of this game working my way around a course created by our great designers knowing that they are trying to tempt me into a shot and then taking that risky on or deciding not to and playing safe, I have none of that feeling now as is it just feels like hit and hope. I could live with the previous setting used on Peel Castle test event, but these setting on Bungalow Beach just aren't my cup of tea, and with the Beer League moving to harder settings there will now be zero tours for me to play on and enjoy. Honestly at this point I'd rather the tours just stay the way they were last season. I do want to say thank you to Doyley & the admin team for keeping this great site running and understand that they need to do what they believe is best for the tours and it's members, unfortunately these latest settings if implemented will mean it's time for me to find another game. The carry distance on clubs is still there in the top right like it always was. Even with the distance showing on the aim marker it doesn't tell you how far it'll fly depending on wind, elevation change etc. It's not really that different to me other than no elevation info on shots that won't reach the green.

-2 for the first round in special events, tied for 9th on the in game leaderboard so I wasn't the only one to struggle a bit it seems. That pin position on 14 was brutal and ended up with a double bogey. Otherwise I just kept landing on the green miles from the hole so not many good birdie opportunities. Still enjoyed the challenge of the settings.

CC Test Event Bungalow Beach
Whipped round quickly as I've already pretty much seen the proposed settings. Happy with this set up and could also live without the lie grid leaving the only difference between Pro Tours and CC being the wind meter vs speed which is how things worked last season.
AFAIC the sooner we settle this the sooner we can crack on with getting used to the new set up. Good to go.

Perhaps we should test on Harrier Creek where there are lots of elevation changes and barely any flat lies.

But as I say personally I'm good to go. You need to find a way to reel in the Pro Tours a little and I see no reason why we in CC shouldn't use the same settings so that if players get promoted to the Pro Tours it's not a big culture shock, just trickier courses.

Have you maybe forgotten (or not realised) to activate 'show distance in HUD' in the game settings? This way you get some of the information you're looking for.

I guess I'm just used to looking at my marker and not setting it up in the hud correctly for my carry distance but still after playing the 2nd round I can't say that enjoyed myself at all and it still felt hit and miss and not something I'd enjoy playing

CC player here. -9 in first round at Bungalow Beach. Really like these settings. Like having the wind as meter only.

New events start in 1 hour. I have two Beer League events set up as well (Beer League and Elite) if anyone is looking to try that on for size. See below for those settings. Beer League Settings:1. Course yardage is set to Book Only 2. Aim Marker is set to Marker Only (means no distance/elevation will show above your aim marker) 3. Under Display & HUD menu you can set Distance Info Position to "In HUD". This will show the distance/elevation to the pin from your current position - if you have Distance Info Position set to On Marker you will not see this information (and be at a severe disadvantage/not see any elevation info). The must be manually changed by you - we can not set this for you. 4. Pro Vision: Trajectory is set to Aim Only 5. Pro Vision: True Shot is on, the rest of the Pro Vision options are off so you'll need to account for all other factors (ball lie, rough/fairway, elevation, wind etc) when setting up your shot. 6. Swing is set to Pro-Am So Beer League is going to force the same daft aiming system too? Please leave somewhere to go for those of us who want to aim the way we have for the last 7 seasons. In my opinion, if ain't broke, don't fix it. Tempo between platforms is broken. Nothing else is.

The Beer League could perhaps be set up with the same settings that 2K21 has in online play as an introductory step to TGCT and players could then step up to the more difficult set up in the main tours if they so wished.

Turn the marker off completely. Makes putting fun without the benefit of the aim point.

Mayor of CC-C here. On PC and mouser for lyfe. Played round 1 of Bungalow Beach. -7. Have use most of these settings for most of last season except for marker only. I like marker only now, almost ready to ditch the marker completely for a cleaner screen (ditched shot feedback a long time ago, well have distance only as I do relish the numerical feedback on drives, don't care about slow or fast as I feel that anyway). Here is my screen on the first tee in round 2: Pretty clean, and that shot feedback thingy is only there because I have to ctr+shift+c to take the screenie. Otherwise it is not there when I play. In summary I approve of these settings. Onward.
