You understood me, tgctours should not be an arcade game. Tgctours team introduced Master swing Last year to give tour à competitive edge. Pro swing is a huge step back. All tours, outside of Beer League, used Master last year...I guess I am unsure of what you're saying. I was addressing your point that all tours should play on the same course with the same setup. If I'm in CC, I do not want to play Platinum courses and setups each week. I'd probably quit pretty quick - there'd be a lot of frustration since I'm just not good enough to enjoy playing four rounds on a firm, fast, undulating course with high winds and such. And I 100% agree with SkyBlueBen about having all courses play on one course each week limiting the number of courses that would make the tours. That would really cause lots of great courses to miss out on the chance to host a tour event, and would really be a disappointing thing to hear as a course designer. All right, i haven't thought about course désigner, Sorry for them, they make an incredible job. My key point was that Pro swing makes easy courses way too easy. So, you can address this by using different(if you wish) but always difficult courses , with different settings(more wind for platinum for instance)I made +2 in special event, I'm cc-h, i think it's a fair solution and it Will retain a bit of attractivity for Master swing players. And a bit of frustration is part of the game...

I'm a CC player and I would like to see these special event settings in the CC events also. Don't really see the reason to have easier settings in CC if promotion to the top tours is at all a goal. So...all tours should have the same exact settings? Not everyone is of the same skill level. I shot -1 in the Special Event, and others on PS4 shot -22 and -16. Someone actually shot in the 50s at Fenyard Keep, which is listed in-game as the "Hardest" difficulty. The talent level range here is vast, and why there's multiple levels and tours to play on. Courses also vary in challenge, too. Some are ideal to test the best players, while others are more fitting of being on a tour aimed at less skilled players. If all tours have the same settings, then I guess there should just be one massive tour and get rid of "Pro" and "CC" tours all together. This is why handicaps exist in real golf. Unfortunately in this game the way it's calculated is absolutely ridiculous so they can't be used. In any case no settings will put everyone in with an equal chance because of them all being different skill levels.

Even on the PGA Tour, you'll see one week where the course gets eaten up by the top pros, while another course offers a more stern test the next week. Week after week of difficult courses would not be fun, in my opinion, and would go against why this swing change is being made.

The winner score was -44 during the season to give you a gauge. 2nd was -41, 3rd -38.

The winner score was -44 during the season to give you a gauge. 2nd was -41, 3rd -38. I played the test event and shot 22 under for 2 rounds. I didn’t play particularly well. On plat tour I would be around the cut line. And that was on one of the hardest courses we played last season. Scores will be crazy I think

I do applaud tgc tours.Sad they have to “pick up the pieces” of all the mess that 2k sports made of this franchise

All this tells me is the change to Pro swing is a wash. Xbox still can't compete. Kind of like getting a pay raise with inflation eating away most of it. Unless you have persevered with XBox for a while, you will not get it. The change from Masters to Pro is not about winning and losing. It is the difference between being frustratingly unplayable and enjoyably challenging.

At least I'd of made the cut (maybe?) Sadly I'm just not the most consistent player to be testing this because I usually cannot putt. Those rounds I'd of usually missed way more putts, but when I don't, I get streaky. Did enjoy it though.

Ha! Someone did shoot a round of 58 I believe on PS4 in the Special Event test, which is a round of -14. That same golfer also shot 70 in RD 1

Better to use the ladder system to actually get promoted to compare yourself against better players, surely? There needs to be a difficult spread for all, otherwise, where’s the entry? Maybe i'm Alone with this philosophy but i love simulation, i want to compare with real life golf. With Master swing, easy challenge tour courses were Just ok.With pro swing, even the weakest player on Earth Will be under par.-10 per round is not golf, it's boredom. If you love simulation then you should play True Sim. It is still going to be Masters (I believe) and doesn't have all the other arcade elements that the tour does. To pick on the change of tempo difficulty as the element that turns the main tour from sim to arcade seems a bit silly to me when you still have all the other arcade aids. FYI, I used to play True Sim in TGC1 but it took twice as long to play a round so gave it away. Edit: Your comment re weakest player being -10 per round is nonsense - at least on XBox. Check the scores in my Pro society thread and/or the Beer League.

When I looked at the leaderboard, PeskyPeanut was the -22. For comparison, I checked last season and he was -9 after 2. Thats a substantial difference I would say. He beat his 4 round total by 5 strokes...in 2 rounds. So 13 shots better over 2 rounds. I'm down in CC-G and I'd say Pro to Master I'm running at 6/7 shots per round better (roughly, not got a direct comparison to work with). But then we all knew the scores would go through the roof a bit. Should make the Platinum division pretty cut throat! What we're not seeing is the leader on his way to 70 under as some were suggesting. Doyley said for this season they are not worried about how low the scores get in Plat. They already now this before going in. Their main concern is getting the Tours back. 5% of the entire Tour will be scoring super low….The other 95% will be below….

Appreciate all the testing - still no update on the site so we'll keep throwing in 2 round tests in the meantime. I am very interested in the feedback - one of my main goals is to have a common structure for the main tours with minor tweaks between CC and the Pro Tours. I'm also going to lump the Beer League into this as well so that we're consistent. Will let you all play a couple more events to see if the feedback remains mostly positive.
There will be an event in the Challenge Circuit starting tomorrow that will have the same settings as the Special Event one, with Lie Grid and Wind Meter on. Should be on a more accessible course for those on the Challenge Circuit.
