Special Events Society TestKinda course that deserves more of my time than I gave it but really just looking at the settings out of interest. I know this is looking at settings for the Pro Tours but as a poor CC-G player I would have no problems with this set up in CC if you wanted to keep the whole tour the same. Scored +1, -2 including a double late on when my controller threw a fit and spewed out a very fast out of nowhere, but we ain't going to be facing this course in CC I doubt. Screen looks nice and clean with less clutter. Perhaps let CC have wind speed if you want to go easy on us

Even with Scout Cam Off it's extremely easy to aim exactly 15y, 24y, 37y, or even 50y left or right of your target; look no further than my Red Fast Ultra Sim Experience video. Also, "Book" can be used for everything else precision needed. Scout Cam On doesn't make the game less difficult, however, it certainly can affect speed of play and ease of use.
Imo CCs should leave everything as it was last season, while the top 3 tours only add No Lie Grid. Messing with marker/no marker, distances, etc., would be a huge mistake. You already have TST for that.

Just played the test event in Soecial events. I enjoyed these settings for the pro tours and wouldn’t mind them every week. Definitely adds a little bit of thought back into the game even with the easier swing. Scores seemed comparable to last season but this isn’t the easiest course and the easiest of conditions

This is my biggest concern. It doesn't make it harder - just frustrating. Adds a lot more time for people who have the patience to do so. I already have probably the longest rounds on tour. This won't make me less accurate in any sense. For putting, it just means going box by box and counting out exactly how much power I want to add to my putt. For people who line it up and go, this doesn't affect them at all except maybe make them think a second or two more, but for many of us with a methodical playstyle it really just adds more time. It's not a lack of information, but an annoying obfuscation. But I guess to an average player, that would make it harder.

I'm a CC player and I would like to see these special event settings in the CC events also. Don't really see the reason to have easier settings in CC if promotion to the top tours is at all a goal.

So...all tours should have the same exact settings? Not everyone is of the same skill level. I shot -1 in the Special Event, and others on PS4 shot -22 and -16. Someone actually shot in the 50s at Fenyard Keep, which is listed in-game as the "Hardest" difficulty. The talent level range here is vast, and why there's multiple levels and tours to play on. Courses also vary in challenge, too. Some are ideal to test the best players, while others are more fitting of being on a tour aimed at less skilled players. If all tours have the same settings, then I guess there should just be one massive tour and get rid of "Pro" and "CC" tours all together.

To be honest the only difference last season between Pro and CC was the wind display. Meter for Pro, open for CC. And course difficulty obviously!

Yea I'm a cc-f player and I'd be happy if the special event settings were implemented into the cc tours.

I will play whatever Doley decides but I just played the special event and liked the extra challenge. Also, it prevents a bit of culture shock for those promoting from the CC tours to Kinetic, since you cannot refuse a promotion. For some players, going from easier setups and courses to harder setups as well as harder courses makes it difficult to stay in the upper tours. But, like I said, I'll play whatever is decided.

I just think that there could be some settings left on for CC that would then be removed if you get promoted up to the Pro tours, especially now that the swing is on Pro and is more "balanced" for all. It would set the levels apart just a bit and help cater to the wide range of talent that is in the CC level. To me, I think leaving lie grid on and leaving wind speed/direction on for CC makes sense. Then, in Pro tours, remove those aids. I do think that the "clean screen" with the distance/elevation in the HUD could be used across the board.

Gotcha...I'm not asking for CC to be that drastically different from the Pro tours. I would just leave lie grid and wind speed/direction on for CC players, and remove them for Pro tours. Everything else could be the same IMO.

I like the idea of things getting progressively a little more difficult as you climb the ladder. But it gives Doyley another option. The Special Events test seems to have be received very well by all abilities.

But I did really have to adjust to the wind marker, as I always play with speed and direction on. Lie grid I could go either way on, but I personally like having it. And the distance/elevation display is the same as I always use, so that's A-OK with me, too.

I think Master to Pro drops the difficulty immensely and I’m just an average CC player…..I have no problem with no lie grid and only aim marker. The top plat players were saying that this will be a putting contest. If that is the case then make the putting difficult as possible with just the aim marker. A Tru Sim Plat player said players would get used to just using the aim marker for putting anyway. Adjustments should be made in Plat anyway as Pro settings are already easier for them….. As for a massive Tour for all? Just playing rounds week after week will separate players within the tiers anyway.. There is fun for a CC player to work their way up the tiers and their own talent level will keep them where they should be playing anyway….

I guess all I am saying is that, to me personally, it makes sense to have some kind of separation between CC and Pro tours, other than the courses. But that separation does not have to be super dramatic. Like I said, maybe just leave lie grid and wind indicator info on for CC players and make everything else the same. Nothing too crazy.
