Definitely a big fan of the settings on the special event test. Less information on the markers gives it a cleaner look and you can appreciate the course a little more. I like the added challenge for putting. I think too many, myself included, use the elevation change on the marker and just plug it into an "equation" (for example 4in uphill equals 4 ft pass the hole, depending on green speed setting). You still will have the elevation change for the hole in the HUD so you could ball park it but these settings make you look at the grid, which is more of skill than using an "equation" for determining speed imo. Also with the Pro swing difficulty proximity to hole will probably be closer for most, so you will likely have more short putts for birdie compared to last season as well. Most important to me when playing is feeling rewarded for a good round and I think these settings still achieve that.

Wonderfull settings. Didn't read the distance in the HUB menu thing before, played it with the book only. -6 and -8. So it's even possible to make it easier by turning on in the menu.
I think this setup should be the one. Scores will never be realistic anyway, but it would be fun to make it a little harder since the swing is easier. The trio of lie grid off, marker only and course yardage with book only is a good start. Maybe give a break to the CC players, but from Kinetic and up, this is it.

I played the Special Event. I'm a CC-I long-hauler. I shot +1 for the 2 rounds. I don't recall if any of the settings were open for change, but I played it as is. I'm sure it was the wind that affected my play the most. Those settings seem ok.

Played the Special Events tournament and am all for these settings. Fenyard’s definitely a good course selection to test these out although the wind and general lumpiness of the course were the main challenge. As others have said I think these are perfectly reasonable settings for the Pro tours.

I’m curious of what some of the Top Plat players score on this current setting with Event #1, and compare it to what they shot during their season of this course…..of course only 2 rounds but I’m curious if we see -38 after 2 as some were suggesting -75 for a typical 4 rounder.

I wouldn’t give a break to CC IMO….The break was given by going from Masters to Pro settings…….how many more breaks do we need in CC? The next thing people will ask will be putter preview…..

Special events society settings are good, I would even say for the CC levels, of which I am a part of..

I'd allow lie grid in CC and keep wind speed/direction on, too. I honestly might give the tours a go again if the other Special Event settings would be put into CC though - the way that distances and elevation are shown is the same way I play local rounds.

I'm all-in for no green grid if you want even in CC. But let's stay realistic, most CC won't like this change. I dunno how much, but some are not even aware it's possible to remove distances. I had messages telling me something was wrong in my society since they couldn't see distances anymore. They play the game a for full year and have never heard about the book. Not everyone fit this description, and others are not idiot too. But there's a limit on change you can do with CC without having some quitting.

The thing is...you can get distances with these settings, as long as you turn them on in the HUD. That will need to be made clear if these settings get funneled all the way through the tours (and I have no doubt they would be communicated well). But even if that's communicated, people will still complain because 1) that's what people do and 2) they won't read the settings before playing.

Any word on when the Opening Week will be? Per Doyley in the Discord chat: "not yet Once I get word from Tim that the site is updated/ready, I'll be able to give a firm date"

And green grid is the only solution to keep scores more normal, but I know it won't be done and it's very fine like that. I wish TST goes to pro swing. That would be an excellent change

I really like these settings. Im a CC player and these settings are fine for CC imo. Id like to see these settings used in the new CC tour. The biggest challenge for CC is the swing tempo, now going to pro-swing it will make a big difference in reducing difficulty, putting is also easier on pro due the the larger perfect window. Therefore i think removing lie grid and marker info is easily tolerable at CC level.
