I play on PS5 and even after months of playing still have problems hitting the fairway on Master settings, so I am delighted that the main setting are changing to Pro. At last, I will be able to finish a tournament with a feeling of satisfaction instead of frustration.

TGCT silly season is just unrivaled by any other off-season drama you can find - never fails!

26 pages huh?
Well I’m never reading all that so here goes:
If you agree with me then you are right and awesome and should stay here forever.
If you disagree with me then you are wrong, may you burn in eternal flames, just leave this website already and find something else.
Did I just about nail the previous 25 pages?

TGCT silly season is just unrivaled by any other off-season drama you can find - never fails! Lol 😂 People seem to forget, they can play this game any damn way they want to! You can play with all aids off, Legend swing, left handed, hopping on one leg, while reciting the works of Shakespeare backwards. Or you can play with all the timing off and unlimited putt previews, longest clubs on beginner swing and shoot -28 every round. Whatever floats your boat, this game can give it to you, and there are multiple societies out there with every setting in between. TGCTours is one of those and it can set up however it sees fit. We then make the choice whether we want to play or not. Simple. 🤷

if we end up VF/VF/VF each week on tricked up courses in an attempt to keep the scoring in check, I can see people getting sick of it quite quickly. I have no plans of doing this, Will be evaluating the scoring for the first couple of weeks but I dont think scheduling a Black Salt valley every week is a good idea for the sanity of the people Im scheduling for I really do believe the difficulty should be upgrade for all reason starting from competitionto not getting bored playing.oike robots. I am testing a 1.94 difficulty in my society called TGCT Pro Practice. It's basically regular setup, but lie grid is gone and course yardage have been set to Book Only. There's no distance showing. While it's easy to know where is the pin, nothing will tell you the elevation of any slope. It's not only immersive, but it's enough to keep scores in check a little bit so far. Someone will always shoot -19 on a round somewhere, but it's a decent challenge for most of us. Thinking is harder, swinging is easier. Most would accept these changes even though some would be surprised at first. And yes, you don't have to go on extreme setup and courses every weeks. Something that could be done is mixing a little bit more on setup, even if realism could take a hit. A round where putting is at 144, 163, 187 on very soft and then 119 on very hard could surprised some players playing it back to back. I have played alot of tourny this year, did we play a single round with rain anywhere? Even a round with zero winds on Platinium once in a while could have some surprising effet as no one ever play on these conditions anywhere! Can't wait for new season! Cheers!

I mean, I can understand the whining, to a point, but I well understand why the change is being made and support it. All of a sudden, the reason so many started out with TGCT has been a little upended. Admittedly, the majority of the best players will likely hang around, but the suggestion that the place for elite players is now the Beer League or TST is a bit off a kick in the stones for some I should think. Masters, The Open, Ryder Cups etc... all the main events will be on the main tours, which will be less challenging than ever, and will be a shame if the best players aren't included. TST is great - I love it, but a lot of folks just don't / won't enjoy it... While I agree with the pro swing change for parity, I have my reservations about how enjoyable it will be, and if we end up VF/VF/VF each week on tricked up courses in an attempt to keep the scoring in check, I can see people getting sick of it quite quickly. Never having been near the Pro Tours I must admit I didn't take into consideration the extra events open to the highly skilled so your point is duly noted and understood. If that’s the main concern… I’m happy to make each of those events in beer league for them.

Doyley Any thoughts on what to do if a new game drops before S8's scheduled end? We'll likely just wrap up the season quickly and use the remainder of the season with a fresh start with a new game.

Its really just going to be a putting competition for the most part now because on pro swing its damn near impossible to miss fairways and greens.

Doyley, either way, thanks for all you do…..you take a lot of crap from people who whine over a game. Sure it is very competitive and people like competition at its highest form with any game but TGC is doing what is best for the for the golfing community and that is to get back players who were had left with the tempo updates….this will make the Tour better overall. I don’t understand why some of the Top players wouldn’t want more players on the Tour? And this will bring back players who had left and bring in new ones as well.
