Sorry for my absence from the flight club. Been a little under the weather lately.
Any of you guys come across airports/runways like the one below in your fancy Spitfires that I need to get btw lol.
This is Lukla in Nepal. It's a blast to take off in, especially in larger planes. You don't have the airspeed to get off the ground by time the runway ends so you drop off the cliff and pull up as hard as you can hoping to clear the hills in front of you. Landing here is a challenge. Supposed to be one of the toughest airports in the world to land at. My destination is Paro, around 100 nm or so away across the mountains. Also one of the toughest to land at. Apparently only a couple dozen pilots are licensed to land there.
VNLK to VQPR if anyone wants to fly a very scenic route through the Himalayas under challenging conditions. Every time I load in here it's snowing or raining and sometime you can't see a thing. Video below if you decide to watch, about half way through I'm getting tossed around in the wind.
If anyone has anymore airports like this feel free to let me know. TBM 930, Easy to get off the ground.
Les a question about those streaming runs where you fly with others, how do you do that? I'd love to get in on a group flight like that but don't have a mic so no sure if thats allowed. On pc.

Landing at Dublin Airport in the rain flying by the seat of my pants which are slightly soiled after that landing, I was right over the runway before I saw it.

Go to world map and find the approximate area where they are flying, click on the flight conditions and select all players. If you now zoom into the map there’s a possibility you will see green icons of aircraft moving on the map that is normally the streamer and his entourage. I don’t use a headset to talk to anyone on the stream I just communicate through the twitch stream chat itself although a lot of them have a discord channel.

Not sure if it’s my navigational skills that are lacking but a couple of places I’ve come in to land lately look like someone’s back garden 🤣

Stuck the landing like a bat sticks to a roof of a cave. After my second bounce I realized I wasn't going to make the landing so I floored the throttle and rocketed across the airport fighting to get enough speed to take off again but couldn't clear the roof, hit it, did a somersault and would up here after sinking through the roof.

Go into the world bit and find the area where they are flying they will show up as a green aircraft or lots of green dots if they are in a group. Select an aircraft that can keep up, and just tell the sim to start in the air not on the ground. You need to have the setting on all players as well to make sure you see them. If your on their discord you can talk to them or if they are streaming on twitch you can just communicate on the twitch stream by text. At the minute there are about 6 of them doing a route starting in Namibia up the African coast then across to South America then up to North America, the stream is to last for 40 hours. I just basically follow them and land at the same airport, the streamer normally changes to the drone cam and sets it to watch people land naming you as you come in.

Thought I'd try something a little different and have downloaded a flight plan off the web, Escobar Drug Route, looks interesting. On my way but got to break off for a few hours so see how well it saves...
