When I saw that Ireland was in Team GB option, I laughed, not really a option to be honest with out another Irish war of independence but this time fought on a golf game forum.. I do request that Ireland be split in to Cork and not Cork though..

Thanks guys, apologies about the Ireland stuff - just glanced at a wiki and likely read it wrong. Think I'll go with option #2 as well.

Ireland is 100% separate from Great Britain. Northern Ireland, however, is not separate. To clarify… Great Britain = England, Scotland, Wales United Kingdom = Great Britain + Northern Ireland Team GB however is officially called the Great Britain and Northern Ireland Olympic Team… as it’s Great Britain + Northern Ireland… …but that’s branding for you… and not going to start any political discussion

The Olympic Golf Competition is coming up soon. Members that make this field will be able to play in the Olympic event as well as their main tour event during the same week.
Once Week 43 (July 21-27) is finalized, the top 15 players in our WGR will be eligible for the Olympics up to a maximum of four golfers per country. I have listed the projected qualifying slots taken based on the WGR as it stands today. It's not set in stone.
The Olympic Qualifying Tournament will fill the rest of the field (65 total) with a max of 2 players per country in the field. We will also make 1 extra slot available from any country that has 2 or more auto-qualifiers. Currently that's USA and England but could change. Every country will have at least 1 qualifying slot available in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
All tour card holders will be in the Qualifying field - Platinum members included.
Projected Qualifiers As of July 17 the following countries hold automatic qualifiers by way of the Top 15 WGR metric. *subject to change USA (4) England (2) United Kingdom (1) Belgium (1) Ireland (1) Sweden (1) Japan (1) Wales (1)
Event Info Olympic Qualifying Tournament No Cut No R1/R2 Deadline Olympic Golf Competition Field Size: 65 No Cut There will be a R1/R2 deadline
IMPORTANT: Please note that we have recorded what country you have on your TGCT account as of Wednesday, July 17. Anyone that changes countries in their TGCT profile after this date will not be eligible to qualify

Do you have to play in the qualifying event to be eligible to make the Olympic field (assuming you're not already auto qualified) or is it based solely on the WGR standings after the Olympic qualifying event? Doyley

Do you have to play in the qualifying event to be eligible to make the Olympic field (assuming you're not already auto qualified) or is it based solely on the WGR standings after the Olympic qualifying event? Doyley WGR is only looked at for those in the top 15 (reminder you have to be top 4 in your country - there a couple from USA inside top 15 that aren't auto-qualified). If you are not auto-qualified you'll need to play the Qualifying Event as that is where the rest of the field will be pulled from. Also note that the top 15 isn't locked in until Week 43 is finalized. So if you're on the Top-15 bubble, best to play the Qualifier as well.

For those that aren’t capable of playing in the qualifying, where does it show what course is being played and the conditions?
