The Olympic Golf Competition is coming up next week. Members that make this field will be able to play in the Olympic event as well as their main tour event during the same week.
Once the current week is finalized (July 25), the top 15 players in our WGR will be eligible for the Olympics up to a maximum of four golfers per country. I have listed the projected qualifying slots taken based on the WGR as it stands today. It's not likely to change much but it's not set in stone.
This week we are running an Olympic Qualifying Tournament to fill the rest of the field. After the top 15, the field will be filled until getting to 61 golfers by going down the Olympic Qualifying Leaderboard, with the top two ranked players qualifying from any country that does not have two or more players from the top 15.
We will also take 1 extra qualifier from USA, Canada, England and Australia so that every country has at least 1 qualifying slot available in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Projected Qualifiers
As of July 18 the following countries hold automatic qualifiers via our WGR by way of the Top 15 metric. *subject to change
USA (4)
Canada (3)
England (3)
Australia (2)
Italy (1)
