Isn't this what they wanted? The RF clamoring got the game changed and participation dropped immediately. TGCT bent over backwards to accommodate as many as possible at the start instigating CC divisions down through to L. The new season upcoming will give them the opportunity to streamline that set up. I imagine Master level will remain the mainstay of TGCT. Sadly, for the more casual player, not just those that play on XB, Master level can be a frustrating experience and has led to many giving up all together with TGCT. Are TGCT pleased with that outcome? Only they can tell you that but I suspect they are not too distressed. I done a quick tallying up of the participants in the CC flights this week and we have 984 players which is averaging 82 in each flight. If they decide to revert back to 8 flights like last season with those numbers it's up to 123 in each flight, which is a bit short of where it used to be. There are a few known names missing from the CC flights (you'll know a lot of them Ben) who've found the struggle of playing consistently too much and have either joined Beer League or left TGCT. I think the guys may not be fussed with losing players as it makes their work easier, but when the next game drops we might see another influx the same as we had with 2K21. If the swing mechanics is improved we could see a lot of the ones that have left CC coming back and CC getting restructed to accommodate it.

Yeah, the new game will change things though I suspect it will depend on what kind of a product EA come up with. If EA make a decent fist of it some may not return after being burnt by their experience with HB/2K changing the swing mechanics dramatically 8 months into release. I'm not saying it didn't need changing but the changes made a massive difference to many who played casually. Also I'd have preferred that they fixed the leaderboard rather than giving me a Miami Vikings t-shirt to play in!! As for TGCT, it's their ball and they can play how they want. And we are free to decide whether we want to join their game.

I have a feeling that sales of the next version of this game will be a bit slower as the cautious people will wait for those that have to buy the game, give us a review that is not sales related. Haven't seen many "I am going to buy this on day one" posts. I would say that if a demo/beta were to be a prerelease "treat", then sales might be better.

People have a 2 hour demo so they can see for themselves if they like the game or not.

It may have been sarcasm, but it is either the Miami Heat (NBA) or the Minnesota Vikings (NFL).

I wanted a working game, not a bloody t-shirt from a sport I have absolutely no interest in.

They've made the Xbox game play on Master difficulty nothing short of miserable. They released a game that was broken in dozens of ways, fixed a few things so it became a "good" game, then destroyed it with two server side swing nerfs. When I said I'd never consider EA again with their arcade style of play, I will now give it a look, at least.
