I was hoping that Tombanator might have beaten Paul and save me some issues. Your first mistake was having hope. Second mistake was having your hopes on little old me. I'm nothing but disappointment all the way. Just like Finns in any sport. So that's quite on character. That said, good luck! We're too focused trying to take on our under 6s this week in a friendly. Unless you want to swap?

Orlando has fooled the PGF again! Finished in Premier AND nothing but friendlies until the next season.
With no pressure and a loverly links course, my scores should serve me well in CC-C.
Round 1 -10! Round 2 -5
Onward!

1st Round 66 (-6)
This is a crucial match for both teams, defeat for Celtic will see them slip down to the Championship and a win for Herne Bay will see the men from Kent catapulted into the big time.
Celtic started more assured than in previous weeks with a defence that were determined to not give the visitors a sniff at goal. A few chances were created at the other end with Forrest, McGregor and Rogic all coming close. After the first 10 minutes Celtic dropped back after seeing the Bay hitting on the counter, knowing full well that the first goal may be crucial. Efforts by Edouard and McGregor lifted the tension a bit, but will they provide a chance for an early lead?

Round 3 for Juventus and Cassino Calcio in the battle for Italian and PGF supremacy.
A bit of a tentative start in the first 7-ish minutesfor the Azzurri as they felt out the pitch and the opposition, and perhaps with the results of the first two meetings. But then the attack came fast and furious over the next quarter hour as Cassino pressed from all angles, hoping to put Juventus on the back foot.
((R1:57))
Cassino continued their attacking pace over the rest of the half, but the Juventus defense stabilized and opportunities for a counter-attack were present.
((R2: 62))

It's become a little bit easier for Celtic to retain their premiership status as Herne Bay have just received notification of promotion to CC-J. Although Celtic are playing at home the pitch has been moved to Kent , so in theory Herne Bay should have the advantage, but couldn't manage to keep the fast reds away for the first 22 minutes Rd 1 Even

But then the attack came fast and furious over the next quarter hour as Cassino pressed from all angles, hoping to put Juventus on the back foot. ((R1:57)) Cassino continued their attacking pace over the rest of the half, but the Juventus defense stabilized and opportunities for a counter-attack were present. ((R2: 62)) After lifting our first Pixel Golf trophy last week, Juve are right back to work against a familiar opponent to try to complete the Double and take home the coveted League title.
After having not trained since the game last Sunday Juve definitely started on the back foot after 8 days of rest. The quick warm-ups prior to taking the pitch did not seem promising especially knowing our top-class opponent came out hot. The players seemed to not have the drive to go out and get an early goal but after about 10ish minutes that spark of desire came out with a vengeance (holed out for eagle on the 2nd par 5 of the front 9) and from there it was game on. Just a couple minutes later the outlook of the game went from looking like an early 1-0 deficit to the possibility of actually taking a 1-0 lead (2 more eagles on both the back 9 par 5s to make it tied with a few holes to play). Knowing that this opportunity would set the tone of the game Juve made sure to get their talisman in Ronaldo involved and he did what he does best, put the ball in the back of the net to make it 1-0 Juve (R1: -17). Still a little surprised by this early lead, The Old Lady needed to remain composed and were able to keep things rolling (6 birdies to start R2). From there, it was mostly cruise control the rest of the half thanks to maintaining the majority of possession and playing lock-down defense which eventually led to a counterattack goal by Dybala to make it 2-0 (R2: -14).
Allegri gave a quick and passionate halftime speech and out we came for the 2nd half of this title showdown. It was a bit of a slow start as the pressure of closing out a good opponent is never easy (and for the 2nd week in a row I was sitting halfway to the -60 mark which I've never hit before). It was a good first 10 minutes but nothing magical...until the moment that fans only witness every once in a blue moon happened. Chiesa decided to launch one from the halfway line to catch the goalie sleeping well off his line and low and behold it went in! (I holed out from 255 for my first ever Albatross) More shots on goal followed but that was by far the highlight of the round and hopefully is the goal that gives us the trophy (R3: -15). If that wasn't enough though we wanted to make sure to close the game out strong since our opponent already showed they can keep up with that kind of score. The final 20ish minutes was some of the most consistent passing and shooting I've seen in a while. Every player from front to back was involved and showed how much they wanted this victory and after the final whistle blew it looks as though the Double will be completed (R4: -18, eagle on hole 2, par on hole 3, and every other hole was a birdie and I hit my first ever sub-60 tournament).
Good luck with your final 2 rounds Jesse cassinochips! I'm sure you are sick of playing me now lol but you are definitely a solid player, I really never expected to top your round 1 score and wouldn't be surprised if you put up good scores in the last 2 rounds.

First half vs Liverpool
Brazilians aplenty and tempo deserted me around the turn of the first period. Even so I managed to limp home under par and Round One was in the bag at 69 (-3). Not going to trouble the Premier Division side with a load of rubbish like that but set out to finish the half. Started with a bogey from nowhere on the first but five birdies saw the turn reached four-under. Things really got rolling midway through the back nine where four birdies and an eagle saw East Fife home with a 62 (-10).
The State of The Nation
So far PGF has lost Aston Villa, Coventry and Championship Champions Carlisle United for next season.
Despite my best efforts to create a more level playing field over the last nine months or so, it would seem that the vagaries of the game we are presented with has, if anything widened the gap between the very good players and the mid-level plodders. Those lucky enough to exist in the lower reaches of the Challenge Circuit seem to be able to get by with the massive handicaps they get but those on the middle really have little chance.
The choice of courses for us to play, the lack of proper checking of these courses under anything like the conditions later selected and at the difficulty level required (many played by Platinum level players or under Beer League difficulty) had done nothing to bring the players closer under our rules. It is not easy to see a situation where the majority can play the very best and have a chance. Many of our number, I have competed with and against over much of the last couple of years. During this time I have been able to reasonably estimate results between players and the number of random elements just makes it a lottery.
With seventeen current players I am relatively loathe to put a lot of effort into finding new blood to bolster the ranks. I think we have come to point where we've given it a good go for over nine months but I don't see a lot of point in continuing. If there was a separation of pro tour players from the CC competitors then that would defeat the point of what PGF was about. If I was to say that it is CC players only then I would lose some of my better mates of long standing.
A massive thank you is due to each and every one of the participants both past and present who have thrown themselves wholeheartedly into the spirit of what we started. It has never been a chore to put the stuff together and apart from the odd mid-season departure I have never really had any angst. May at some point in the future the game will evolve into something where we can dust off pixel golf football and have some laughs again.

Thank you so much for the PGF adventure, Greg!
Let's see how everyone feels once the new season has started. Itβs been a weird year (and a half) for everyone and the game is in a bit of a weird state as well - consequently, so is TGCTOURS.
This has been fun though!!
Hope weβll be able to get the ball rolling again soon.

An understandable decision on the continuation as things stand. It's been a whole lot of fun.
Will gladly return whenever things are looking better and ready for these shenanigans again. Stuff like this is why I'm even around this far into the cycle.
Thanks Greg. Appreciate all the hard work, as I do with everyone setting these sorts of things up.
