Spurs are on the road again and yet another Covid test for the trip to Canterbury and it was not down the A2 as the coach driver thought and runway 2L! Pitch was in a terrible state for the team and yet still managed a few early goals for a round 1 -4. Ref was on our side so far in this game and the crowd are now getting behind the home team so could be more goals in this game.

A hole in one on the 2nd had Herne Bay's hope's up of scoring in the first 22 minutes against Hyvinkaan Palloseura, but these hope's began to disappear as time went on . Rd 1 +1

Barcelona - Burton Albion
Barca cautiously returned to the pitch to start chipping away at the giant mountain they left themselves to climb. Play was generally better but a few tempo slip ups cost them being able to bring the score down at all to close the opening 22 minutes. The Blaugrana started the 23rd minute on a mission, determined to put up a fight against the Brewers and for most of the remainder of the half it appeared this would be the case. But Barca ran out of gas to close the half and gave back half of the progress they made and Burton will most likely have a very comfortable time coasting to a 2-0 halftime lead
R1: +13; R2: -3
Seriously night and day compared to yesterday. A couple tempo mistakes and a putting blunder kept me even over the closing 8 holes in round 1. Had my round 2 score down to -6 before tempo mistakes on 15 and 18 did me in

The Sky Blues are very encouraged by the fact that despite being +14 at the cut there are still 7 players worse in CC-E!! On reflection I played real dumb. It's a course I got 12 under on default conditions at Pro level. Trouble is you can't play Master like you play Pro, at least I can't. The gung-ho approach just doesn't cut it at this level. Am I capable of thoughtful play? Probably not!! And I MUST stop playing on a Sunday if I am to persevere with this level!! It's a love/hate relationship. On a Sunday I hate it and by Monday I'm knocking out the Kinetic/Elite rounds to see if it can be salvaged.... Onward!!

Second HalfThe Fifers knew the game was up when their best efforts at the start of the match were knocked into a cocked hat in a merciless Carlisle display. After the break there was an encouraging start which petered out as mistakes crept into their play. As they approached the three-quarter mark they were out of the game after a shabby 71 (+1). With just pride to play for in the closing minutes East Fife managed something of a rally and would have nicked a goal barring a couple of unfortunate bounces that cost three shots. Round Four 64 (-6). Congratulations to worthy champions Carlisle United and Riotous is back in his rightful environment.

Welp, it is looking like the Pirates are heading to relegation playoffs. Not much in the tank, consistently meh thanks to a few awful holes. Rounds 1 and 2, +1 each. Be gentle Kevin, your children are watching. Onward! Greg, you missed my marvelous scores.

I would just like to extend my heartfelt thanks to HB for the inclusion of the fast forward button in this version of the game.
70, 66, 75, 73
I might make the cut. Lost the will to fight any more after that. The football was over before I even started!

Tranmere... Started averagely and deteriorated as the 1st half went on... Think walking up and down all those hills and valley didn't help... On a side note, thank you to Giraffe72 for suffering with me when HB eventually let us connect our rounds. R1 74 / +4 R2 79 / +9

3rd Round 73 (+3)
Well it looks like it's squeaky bum time for Celtic as their efforts of putting up a fight against Cassino have faltered. Bar two early chances in the 2nd half there's not really many positives to take. The players look as if their minds are on their holidays but they may need to make a crucial visit down south if they want to return as Premiership players.
As a wise man once said "You glorify the past when the future dries up", so let's indulge in that shall we.

Herne Bay decided to try and keep procession of the ball for the last 22 minutes of the first half and they nearly succeeded, but Hyvinkaan were awarded a penalty on the half time whistle. At the moment the video evidence is being looked at to see if the ball crossed the line as the bay goalie managed to push the ball on to the goalpost. (Double bogey on the 18th) Rd 2 Even The Bay manager keeps checking his mobile for the score updates from the premiership to see who Herne Bay will be playing against in the playoffs

Pixel Golf Football S3 - Championship, week 9: Herne Bay @ Hyvinkään Palloseura, first half
Back to normal on this last week of the regular season! Only one match to focus on, and no more Star Wars subtitles to spoof on!
With our playoff hopes still technically alive but needing an absolute Hail Mary miracle to get there, and seeing the pitch this week... not a lot of confidence going in that we can pull off the miracle we needed. But the start wasn't the worst! Too bad our free kicks needed a bit of work suddenly since we kept hitting a few walls during them! (hit a couple of shots that bounced off stuff, including on a bunker splash on hole 4 that bounced me into another bunker which I got out of at least, and on the 12th where the second shot went slow and short so that while I didn't hit water immediately, got bounced into it anyway on the next shot)
That said, while the round was decent even with the few snags during them, it's not enough as the visiting side shoots and scores. (Round 1: -2, 68)
Things were on the upside going to the end of the half, maybe we can snipe one home? It was then when this thought was planted to the head that the team froze and became incompetent again, and we conceded another one. (3 pitch attempts on the 18th after going for eagle opportunities doesn't help either...)
Half time talk goes like any bit of Finnish optimism in sports goes: we've already lost this game boys, let's pack our bags and get outta here. Even though we've got no bags to pack since we're already at home. (Round 2: -2, 68. Consistency!)
Mad to think that -4 makes the cut easily this high up in the CC classes. Surprised how solid my putting was since it's sitting tied for the top spot in the B class at 45 total / 1.25 average, and even more shocked about my driving accuracy which WASN'T a catastrophe as usual!

Hello. In general I do not moan about the pitch. Usually, it is rectangular and flat. Nothing to worry about. But this pitch was infuriating! Full of rocks. And slopes with buried trees in it. And slopes that lead right into water. I don't understand how such a pitch is allowed! Horrible! Oh... we played at home. Cheers and good luck all!
