Sweet FA CupIt was always looking like a big ask for Championship sides Hyvinkään Palloseura and Carlisle to get anything out of their semi-finals with the Premier Division's top two. Carlisle at least scored a consolation goal against Jesse. Fun fact, well a fact at least, Jesse was in CC-G when all this PGF lark kicked off and is now about to be promoted to Platinum so maybe that is an omen for Paul Bradford or a lesson for us all. Got promoted to Platinum, then promptly shot a very un-Platinum 63 for the first round. So I'll have to unbury myself from this Cup hole I've dug for me. I was in CC-H to start, and actually missed the cut in the first three tournaments I played. Something something American Dream something something if I can anyone can. Damn, you and Frans are starting to scare me though, sounds like this course has some quirks. I'll be playing my rounds this afternoon so time will tell

I'm down to CC-C as well. I supposed I had a decent run at it. I collected close to 30 demo marks got to five at one time twice and even got to six one of the weeks the TGC hamsters went on strike. I would like to think that it can be a springboard to go back up but in a world where there are those reaching for the stars and those scratching in the dirt I think I am destined to have grubby fingernails.

With a birth in the League finals locked up all focus is turned to the Sweet FA Cup Finals and the 2nd iteration of the Pixel Golf Derby d'Italia.
Juventus quickly took advantage of their Italian counterpart's slow start and tried to set the tone the way they know best: putting balls in nets. Chiesa continued his brilliant form that he showed during the Euros and was a menace for the opposing defense thanks to his speed off the right wing. Sure enough, he ultimately found the back of the net mid-way through the first half (R1: -16). The attacking wouldn't stop there, Ronaldo, now jealous of his teammate getting on the scoring sheet before him, quickly grabbed the ball away from the ref to put it in position for a free kick in prime scoring range. The Cassino wall was in place and jumped as high as they could but from our vantage point it looked as though the ball was heading for the top corner, we await another camera angle to know for sure though (R2: -14).
With their eyes set on the trophy (and in the game the holy land of 60-under) the team came out from the locker room for the 2nd half. They looked more nervy out of the gate given what was at stake. It took some time to settle in again but the tempo of play seemed to straighten out before long. This part of the game seemed to rely more on the ever consistent Italian duo in the back and they may have done just enough to keep the opponent off the board (R3: -11). Now that they knew that lofty personal goal was no longer attainable the team just did what they could to try and close out the game to lift their first trophy. Rabiot made a nice run from the midfield and was able to link up with Dybala who comfortably got in close to net with his great feet and shifty dribbling. It looks as though at least a 3rd goal might be on the board for Juve here but VAR needs to check to make sure he wasn't offside (R4: -14).
That course definitely had some interesting holes especially with the elevation changes or if you got out of place around the greens. Thankfully, I was able to only have one hole where I really made a dumb mistake. Good luck your next 3 rounds Jesse cassinochips and I'll see you again next week lol
Fino Alla Fine
P.S.: No offense to Giraffe72 for not really doing the write up for that game, I just wanted to give the attention to the other one since it was a final. But good luck to you as well this week!

PREMIER LEAGUE
Smelling blood in the water, and also taking out some FA Cup frustrations, the Italians continued to press the attack against the Glaswegians after netting an early lead. Not a dominating display of soccer by any stretch of the imagination, so there are opportunities for Celtic to get back in the game.
FA CUP
Nope.
((R2: 65)) ((R3: 63))

Round OneFix yourself a drink, pull up a chair and let me tell you a story. East Fife entered their last league game of the season with their confidence registering negative numbers. They were up against the runaway Carlisle United side who had swept all before them, unbeaten, averaging three goals a game and conceding less than a goal a game. Practice sessions on the pitch had done little to dispel the impression that Challenge Circuit courses of late have been ropey to say the least. Poorly checked out and certainly not under the extreme conditions selected. This fantasy rollercoaster with greens draped in Spanish flags and just missing a windmill or clown's mouth to hit through, if you could avoid the strategically placed oversize rock formations, seemed no different. Add to that for much of the time you played in near darkness. The Fifers negotiated the early part of the game taking what was on offer to them and scrambling from a few tricky spots. A 15ft par on the ninth after some adventure Pixel Golf saw them turn in three under. The manager could scarcely believe what he was seeing. Things were only going to get better. A solid up and down on ten followed by a birdie. Rinse and repeat on twelve and thirteen then four more on the final five holes. To be honest it was a bit of a blur but I will tell you about the last hole, as it summed up my round. Five hundred and something yards. I tried to draw the tee shot down onto the lower tier of the fairway, red fast into the rough behind the big rocks. 4-iron to the right island fairway leaving 185 yards up 45 feet. Nothing for short into the steep bank or bunker so I selected the hybrid to probably roll off the back and give the chance of an up-and-down par. Oh Joy!! the big red slow. I watched as the ball, with the flight of a wounded Mallard, headed towards the rocks on the slope. Off the rock, up in the air, lands on the fringe and rolls down to 18" for a kick-in birdie. When it's your day...... R1 62 (-8) and the joint lead so far in my new CC-C home. Probably still won't be good enough against Riotous but my best effort for a long, long time.

Round Two
You won't need a drink or a seat.
"Hello darkness my old friend, you've come to f**k with me again"
A bogey early on when I couldn't actually see how far my putter was coming back to judge distance, a bounce off the rocks double on a par-3 and no repeat heroics on the last. I turned at four under but could only limp home in 68 (-2). That definitely won't be good enough against Carlisle.

Local radio said the stadium staff were having problems with the floodlights and as the manager is colour blind, Carlisle aren’t looking forward to this week’s match

Welp, it is looking like the Pirates are heading to relegation playoffs. Not much in the tank, consistently meh thanks to a few awful holes.
Rounds 1 and 2, +1 each.
Be gentle Kevin, your children are watching.
Onward!

The warm up wasn’t giving the Carlisle fans optimism and seeing East Fife looking sharp didn’t help. However what turned up in the first was the best 22 minutes any Carlisle Fan had ever seen Sorry Greg. I genuinely didn’t think I’d get near -8. Back to normal in Rd2 -5

Whilst Carlisle’s play was consistent throughout the match the end result wasn’t as spectacular as the first 22minutes promised. 2-0 up at half time, have they done enough to seal victory and promotion?

2nd Round 72 (+2)
An improvement for Celtic as they approach half time but still not a match for the title contenders. They'll need a solid performance inthe 2nd half to keep their Premiership destiny in their own hands.
