Liverpool crushtastic and Burton Albion will have to play well this week to get something from their games with Ajax. Ajax had a bit of a wobbly first twenty minutes of the second half and could have hit more precise shots at goal in the dying seconds, but overall their play was solid and crisp.

Now that the Old Lady has worked her way to the top of the table the last thing we want to do is get complacent and falter. Our mindset the rest of the way is to keep our foot on the gas and see how far it can take us as there are still a lot of matches left against skilled opponents.
This week we match up with Celtic who has pointed out that we have a good amount of history against one another. They left the door open early for Juve to take advantage of and that is what we did. Despite not coming out with out best form, Dybala was able to find the back of the net early to give us a 1-0 lead (R1: -9). The rest of the team, now motivated by an early goal, seemed to get an extra boost of life the rest of the half. Opportunities were plenty as i bianconeri kept pushing forward. The goal keeper had to always be at the ready as he was never certain when the next scoring chance would present itself (R2: -13). Halftime struck but the players did not want to stop even though they weren't exactly sure what the score was, they knew the tempo of play was there and that's what mattered. The short break did not seem to slow anyone down and collectively they tried to get as many goals as possible in this match. The team seems motivated to stay on top of the table and possibly keep another clean sheet in the process (R3 and R4: both -12). We must wait to see how things turn out but we end this match happy again with out play.

The manager completely forgot that we are also on the pitch against F91 in a Cup tie this week. This is an opponent we are not too familiar with but have heard great things about their abilities. Hopefully our play this week will be enough to get us through to the quarterfinals!

Barcelona - Herne Bay Barcelona return home to the Camp Nou for the first time in 4 weeks Thanks for pointing that out Mark. It has all become a little bit messed up with the to-ings and fro-ings. I did pick up that the fixture computer had put Kevin and Pat at home every match last season and in trying to sort that it would seem I must have buggered up your matches - most probably when trying to schedule 11 teams at the start of this season. I know there isn't any advantage in any of our matches to the fictional location but for the sake of immersion I will try to tinker with the schedule or else issue a directive that home matches are prohibited for some teams.

No worries at all Greg. Barca are happy to continue to explore the Pixel Golf Football world if that’s the way the schedule is set already. No need to adjust it. Just thought it’d be an interesting way to start my report 😂

Refresh my maths, what is 2 or 3 times squadoosh?

Carlisle United Club announcement: Transport to our away game this weekend is now full. Please bring your vaccination certificate and enough food and drink to last between 3 and 10 days, it’s been 50 years since we’ve played abroad so we’re a little rusty on travel times.

The Orlando Pirates approve of this mode of transportation as long as there is enough rum.

Pirates and Rum are more than welcome Art.
Carlisle have only played in European competition once, back in 1972. They played in the Anglo-Italian Cup and beat Roma in the Stadio Olympico, Roma went on to win the competition beating Blackpool in the final?!

Sluggish start matched only by a slightly less inspired finish. The Azzurri might have let Juventus beat them twice, if Man U can take advantage of the opportunity.

The Carlisle manager recruited a Dutch coach a couple of weeks ago to help with windy conditions and it paid off today, that along with a focus on finishing during the days leading upto the match means the loyal army of away fans are in high spirits at half time. Rd 1 -9 Rd 2 -12

Poor opening quarter from me. No real complaints on the state of the pitch, my team just didn't play very well on it. They did fight back after a bad opening 10 minutes to get a foothold in the game, but then decided to play Spanish style tippy tappy around the box without ever getting a shot in.
Opening 75. Trouble!
15th killed me. I thought I'd hit a good tee shot but it just kept going, and then it took me 5 to get down from the fringe.

After VAR happened during halftime that gave the Pirates their 1- nil lead, Zinnbauer implored his charges to press on in the beginning of the second half as Villa is known for strong finishes. This strategy worked to perfection as even with windy conditions Orlando was able to double their lead in the first 20 minutes of the half (round 3 and despite a couple of Humphs was able to post enough at -6). The Pirates then slept walked through the remainder, allowing an easy goal to the hosts in stoppage time (round 4 had 2 triple Humphs and two Humphs on my way to +4). GG John avjpfc, thanks for being generous to your guests. Onward!

It’s all happening in this match as East Fife really hit some form and have been shaking the back of the Spurs net to make it a real close match! Spurs digging deep and round 2 another -4 and should of been more goals but a few silly mistakes by Lloris cost them. Fixture cock up as the Spurs team have to be in Tbilisi, Georgia tomorrow for a week and have a plane to catch in the morning so unfortunately not sure if there will be time for the second half which is a real shame but they (I) will do my best but can’t promise (
