Juventus FutureBuckeye11 - Ajax Erik ten Hag was fuming during his press conference afterwards: “When I told the players I wanted a first half of the same quality as the second, I didn’t @!$#ing mean lower the standards of the second to match the first... “ Anyway, Juventus will still have to play decent to get all three points. Man, really letting of the gas there with that -10 in R4 😂 im just hoping for a draw at this point lol Yeah sorry about that one - really tried to be consistent... 😎😎😎

You know how us Italians like the defensive games haha

Herne Bay made the trip up to East Fife after stopping at Scotch Corner to get bacon and egg sticks for breakfast and took to the field with egg on the front of their shirts and after the first 22 minutes had egg on their faces Rd 1 +9. The Herne Bay manager is beginning to think that the Bay hit their peak when they went 2-0 up against Leeds. Someone turned the power off at half time in the match and since then Herne Bay have been having red flashing lights in their eyes and there doesn't seem much the quack can do

Round Two
The Sword of Damocles
At least I didn't have to wait too long for the punch to the knackers. Par-3 4th a nice tee shot 15ft past the pin, the downhill putt kept dribbling right off the green. 10yard chip back to my feet settle for a double - 'Nice tee shot Greg'. The next hole is the par-5 with the water filled ditch on the right. Dribble in to it. Of course the drop is on a 45 degree slope of heavy rough on the other side. 'Point of entry HB, point of entry'. Somehow made a miracle no-putt par from there. Managed to limp to a 68 (-4) in very benign conditions but the game is losing it's luster at a rate of knots.

Inspired by their cricketers the Dragons knuckled down and tried hard in the first half against the Rovers. If 2 under is back in form, Dragons are back baby.
R1 72 (E) R2 70 (-2)

R1 72 (E) R2 70 (-2) Anything under par is an achievement for some of us nowadays Justin. I'm on edge every time I play just waiting for the next red fast to hit. It's like a horror movie as the music builds up to a crescendo!

Rd 2 v Burton Albion
The magic sponge did it’s job on the keeper and the second quarter got under way with Carlisle pressing on with their good form. Then it happened, as predictable as a Jack Grealish hair flick, the Carlisle collapse. 7 minutes in and the keepers clearance hits the centre backs head and rolls back over his own goal line. The goalie blames the defender, a Bowyer/Dyer fight ensues and the keeper is sent off. (From -3 to +1 in the blink of a red tempo eye). Deep breathes all around, and an all or nothing attacking formation for the rest of the game saw a remarkable fight back. The Carlisle of last week would’ve crumbled but not today......
disappointed because the 8 has probably cost me a chance of challenging in CC-C this week but that 7th hole is a tempo black hole

But the 7th, with trouble on both sides, just made me concentrate harder (except of course in the final round).

Round Three
I am afraid that this game and myself are heading for a major falling out. Hole 1 was five consecutive red fasts (including 3 in a bunker) for a quadruple bogey 8. This was followed by a red fast on the par three, three red fasts on the par-5, a red fast on the next par three sitting four over after four. I managed to avoid the water on 5 and 7 and even managed enough birdies to pull in another under par round, just. 71 (-1) was what the card said but it is becoming like being strapped into a shopping trolley and pushed down a flight of steps.

After being battered red & red in the first 22 minutes, Herne Bay managed to put together some decent passes and even got a few shots on target Rd 2 -3 Like the East Fife manager, the Bay manager has doubts about playing keepsy up with the master settings, but then a rd under par comes along and those thoughts go away Well until the next rd

Leeds United - Barcelona
Barcelona came out in this match slowly and stumbled defensively in the opening minutes. The grew into the match as it wore on clawing their way back to what would’ve been a respectable score had it not been for a baffling open net whiff by Griezmann in the 13th and a just awful miss hit by Dembele in the 17th that sent the ball wide of goal. Tempo became an issue for Barca as they half entered its later stages and mystifying shots became the theme as Barca stumbled mightily to close the half. Hopefully they can regroup at the break and figure some things out
R1: -1; R2: +5
Personal note - I just don’t know anymore. Round 1 I was a few miss hits away from a decent score, such is life. Round 2 was just so all over the place. It seems like whenever I think I’m close, it all just goes wrong again. This group keeps it fun for me though and I’m glad to be a part of it

The foot came off the gas pedal a bit in the second half for Cassino Calcio. It took the Italians a few minutes at the start of the second half to get back in the groove, and even once they found their form there were some massive gaffes on the defensive end, opening the door for Aston Villa to capitalize.
(Two in the water on the 7th in R3, one in R4, and an all but unplayable lie in the rocks on the last par 3 in R4, which led to a carom off the rockery and into the water.)
((R3: 64)) ((R4: 61))

Round Four
Knowing that they would probably need a strong finish to salvage something from the game East Fife decided to get up really early and see if they could catch their visitors napping. For whatever fickle reason, it seemed to work. Even the red fast off the 7th tee was one of those rare versions which goes for miles in roughly the direction you intended. A run of birdies between 8 and 14 was the basis of a round that more than doubled my score for the week and set Herne Bay a target. Another amalgam of four under par rounds but still feels a bit like kissing your aunt.
63 (-9)

First half done against the Pirates. To be fair City looked uncomfortable throughout and never really looked like scoring against a strong performance from their opponents. There were some flashes of good play but they've got to do a lot more to get anything out of this one.
66 and 68
To be honest I'll take that. Never felt comfortable on the greens and hacked my way up more than a few holes. Holed a good 20 footer for par on the 36th hole to give me some insurance over the cut line and keep those pretty green ticks intact. It would be nice to hit the fairway on 7 at some point...
