Rd 3 v Burton The chat in the dressing room at half time was all about staying concentrated and playing safe in the 7th minute. The team performed exceptionally well, if the forwards had a little bit more luck the score would’ve been even better. Played safe on 7 by passing it out of defence rather than the usual long ball. -8
Straight into Rd 4 and although we produced great looking football there was also some goal line clearances and freaky recovery play that flattered that may not have been needed of the boys had taken a breather at 3/4 time. -9
All in all a good week for Carlisle, Consistent for 90minutes and creating lots of chances. Got to stop thinking that Ajax or Juventus scores are normal and focus on beating what’s in front of us.

R1 -8 R2 -9 R3 -6 R4 -12 Didn't stand much of a chance with some brilliant play from Cassino Calcio. Saved a penalty last minute to keep it at 3 - 0, might come in handy, you never know.

2nd Round -2
There's been a marked improvement in the standard of Celtic's defending in the 20 minutes leading up to half time. Three chances fell their way the last just before the whistle where the ball popped up nicely for Christie to strike from 20 yards, will it find the back of the net though?

Inspired by their cricketers the Dragons knuckled down and tried hard in the first half against the Rovers. If 2 under is back in form, Dragons are back baby. R1 72 (E) R2 70 (-2) Jittery start at the start of the second half by the Dragons, while they managed to look respectable and string a few passes together, shots on goal were few and poor quality, easily batted away by the keeper.
R3 72 (E)

Second half done. City's play was pretty ragged throughout the half but they somehow managed to keep a foothold in the game. Then drama in the 67th minute, a penalty! The outgoing Famara Diedhiou grabs the ball. They shouldn't have let him, the great big donkey didn't even make the goal line. With that chance to get back in the game gone City wilted in the heat and a third Pirates goal was inevitable. 63 and 70 for the last two. 50% GIR in both rounds. How I scored -9 in R3 is beyond me, and I had chances for -10. Chipped in 3 times (although one was for par after I'd putted it off the green), holed a putt from the fringe and two or three from 20/30 feet. Just kept making things happen despite very inconsistent tempo. If anything my tempo was slightly better in the 4th round but this time I couldn't hole anything! Funny old game. I'll take -21, this course set up was never going to suit me. Well played Art

Juventus took to the pitch this week knowing they were up against a formidable opponent in Ajax ( fransslabak ). Il Bianconeri were out for a bit of revenge though after what happened in the Champions League quarterfinals a few years back and oh did they ever get it! Right out of the gate Ronaldo buries a ferocious header into the back of the net (hole out for eagle on #1 from 19 yards out). From there it was nothing but clinical passing and controlling the possession to allow us to take many more shots at net and keep the 1-0 lead (R1: -15). The rest of the first half remained pretty much the same. Dybala and Chiesa kept making runs behind the defense and eventually another shot on goal was able to find the back of the net to make it 2-0 at the half (R2: -13).
The players didn't want to remain in the locker room for long given the form of play they were showing today. However, I think they may have rushed back out because they all appeared fatigued the first 10 minutes of the half. Poor passing from out of the back led to minimal opportunities and they began to feel the pressure from Ajax. Allegri gave them all a quick pep talk because they knew that all they needed was one spark and things could turn around. That spark came not long after and they regained their first half form. Passes were once again setting up goal scoring opportunities but it was the defense that came through. Chiellini made a last gasp sliding challenge as Ajax was about to cut the deficit in half and immediately unleashed one of his patented fist pumps as he found a way to preserve the clean sheet (R3: -11). [My 3rd round was -2 on the front and then -9 on the back thanks to an eagle on the first par 5 and a chip-in birdie on 17] Knowing that victory was in their sights Juve wanted to close the game strong. Rabiot and Kulusevski began to get involved from the midfield as every pressed up for one more final blow to end the game 3-0 (R4: -15).
Well played Frans, you definitely put up solid numbers and I definitely needed to play my best to keep up!

3rd Round +9
Gonna keep this short and sweet, I was +8 after 4 holes and the rest of the Round was just damage limitation.
Just one of those rounds.

Pixel Golf Football S3 - Championship division, week 3: Coventry City @ Hyvinkään Palloseura
This week backstage: The boys have been doing heavy intensity drills to prepare for this week, maybe due to inspiration from watching the lads in the Euros working themselves to the bone to make things happen. They've been trying their best to prepare for the first home game this season, and while it may not show yet, they went better than expected! The side effect to such intense training is that we've had about 47 training injuries to take care of, thankfully only 12 more serious ones! We still have a full squad to go into the game since those instances have hit the reserve squad!
The knocks of training have taken their toll to the boys. Shots are missing all over the place, and passes are not as crisp as they could be. The ground game works at least, but there's so much more on offer than what we're getting. So, naturally it leads to the only outcome that it could: Coventry that is doing slightly better at the start scores first, despite their manager being heard before the game saying "they can't score even if they're in a brothel". If that's the case for them, what does that make us? (Round 1: E)
Then comes a miracle on pitch! Something clicks in the heads of the lads after getting scored on what feels like the 50th time this season and they're out for blood. They're fighting for every ball, fighting for every opportunity, shot after shot getting launched! Looks like any prime team you can name in history! And sure enough, we've scored after a dazzling, almost inconceivable display to go to the break tied at 1. What scenes here! (Round 2: -10, yes you read that right!)
I pulled the trigger early by announcing my demotion ahead of time last week and I've just bought myself another week in CC-D by making a damn cut! Seriously couldn't do anything wrong in round 2: putting was great and highlighted with a 65.8 footer, got a chip to land for once, tempo gave me tons to work with and in a good way for once! Rounds like that really helps ease the pain a little bit, and I'm actually within striking distance to grab a little more than just one mark back! Let's freaking go!

Seems that the Herne Bay manager didn't post what happened after the Bay's return in the second half . He's sure he did , but he can't find it now. If his failing memory is correct East Fife had their best chance of scoring right at the start of the second half when the Bay bogied the first hole after which they then just wandered around the pitch with no scoring chances. After 11 minutes they woke from their siesta and attacked Fife goal with shots. Think there was seven birds and a bogey, but for moment he can't get the rd 3 score card up -5

For the last 22 minutes Herne Bay tried their best to match East Fife , but came up short -2 The main thing is that they managed to wipe out the disastrous first Rd and actually finish under par and gives us some hope of finishing the season somewhere in the middle of the league again

It’s been a first half to forget for Burton Albion. Carlisle took advantage of a weak start from the Brewers (R1: -4, “I Get Weak”). Things looked better towards the end of the half but Carlisle took advantage of a poor clearance and added to their lead as the Brewers dejectedly headed into the dark half time tunnel (R2: -6, “Leave A Light On For Me”). Hopefully Burton can draw a “circle in the sand” and somehow make a game of this yet.
