In a couple of threads I've been harping on like a broken record about Masters difficulty being the wrong difficulty level for a cross-platform league given the current state of the game. Based on my experiences in the Beer League I firmly believe that this place would be much better off on Pro difficulty. Even though there would still not be complete parity, the tempo differences would not be as great as they are with Masters (with XB in particular unable to properly resolve tempo on Masters). I am therefore canvassing your opinions to see if I am simply part of an oppressed XBox minority or whether the majority also feels this way. BTW, I am not expecting many votes in the XB "Pro" Tour category because they are getting as rare as hen's teeth! Hardly bother with the main tours anymore. Play the occasional special events and see if I can shoot par or better. Have only succeeded once. How do you join the Beer league Ken. Closest option for me is Ocean Shores. Cheers Ross.

I think you go into Edit Profile in the main tgctours.com site (not the forum) and select Beer League. I think this removes you from the main tours and you simply start playing The Beer League society on the console. It was 7-8 months ago for me so I may be wrong there. I also recommend you ask to join The Brew Crew society mostly administered by SkyBlueBen. It is a bit over-subscribed at the moment but I think with enough regular interest it will go from 6 teams to 8 for next season.

Is there any drop-off in TGCTOURS participation since the swing change? I have no idea whether my experience is typical but after over 40 rounds and countless training swings I have gone from an average of -3 to +5 on master settings after the software "improvement". I was never a red-fast player, was never good enough & did not even know there was such a thing. -3 was not great but it permitted me to at least participate and maybe get to play 4 rounds once in awhile. I very much like playing on TGCTOURS but at +10 I will never make a cut and will eventually simply work my way through being demoted - hard to stay interested & motivated. Beer league just does not have the competition structure. If everyone else has adapted & not lost their playing ability then I guess I just lose out and will not be able to participate, but if a fair number of others are in the same boat then perhaps it is time to adjust the CC tour, or maybe the bottom half of it to pro settings?
Thanks

Thanks Participation drop is huge. Down by 1/3rd since swing mechanics updates.

Thanks I play beer league purely because I’m not good enough with master difficulty on Xbox and it’s still a very competitive league, doesn’t bother me that it’s got no structure. It does have cuts though.

I think one of the issues with dropping to Pro is it's a ridiculously big drop off in difficulty. It's been stated elsewhere, it's a shame there's not another level in the middle. I agreed with the initial idea of playing these tours on tougher settings, but it has become a grind with these changes even though I never played the red fast! On single rounds I still feel I can compete but doing it over 4 rounds is another story. Honestly, I don't know what the answer is. But I know I don't get any satisfaction shooting a low round on Pro settings.

I play in the Beer League on an XBox Series X because my ability to play this game falls under that league. I know my capability is with the Pro setting and I enjoy playing this game. I have made some cuts and not made some cuts and in the end I had fun doing it. Some people look down on the Beer League and that's ok at least I know where I belong. This game is a fantastic golf game but HB seams somehow to play with stuff particularly the swing and it backfires. I found that the Red doesn't effect some people as they know how to get around it, just watch some of the golfers on twitch. I can appreciate everyone's opinion on this subject but please give us Beer League players a little compassion because we play there. I also hope that with the announcement of EA putting a golf game out next year that HB will wakeup and put more effort into a great golf game as competition is a great thing.

But I know I don't get any satisfaction shooting a low round on Pro settings. What they should have done is create a new setting between Master and Legend to avoid upsetting the vibrant competitive online community that existed on TGC Tours. Perhaps work with TGC Tours to create a competitive mini tour on that new setting and gather user feedback. Refine the new setting until they get it right and then roll that forward into the new game that's on the horizon. What these changes have resulted in is a widening of the discrepancy between consoles. It's literally not possible for a wired PS4 player to hit a red slow or fast, and now for everyone else it's become far more likely to hit them, leading to massive penalties. I've grinded it out on PC for over 400 hours and have made it up to Kinetic but the latest batch of changes to the short game are just too much. I'd have to make this a full time job to be semi-competitive in the pro tours, so I think I'm done with the TGC Tours as of this week.

I know the wired PS4/PS5 player has it better than the other consoles and over a PS4/PS5 wireless/Bluetooth player, but to say that it is not possible to hit a red slow or red fast is just silly.

The winner on the Platinum Tour the past three weeks has been a PC player and not the same player all three weeks. Edit: 4 of the last 5 weeks has been a PC player winning on the Platinum Tour. Among those 4 wins are 3 different people.

Among those 4 wins are 3 different people. It was my understanding, from reading commentary and observing videos online, that on PS4 wired it's very easy to setup a three point calibration which allows you to hit only greys and perfects on a three point spectrum. I thought it was universal out of the box, but perhaps I'm mistaken. I guess I'm 'silly'. But that doesn't change the fact that if you're on that console you're playing a severely watered down version of the game and you're effectively getting several strokes on the rest of the field in the TGC Tours. And the fact that a handful of PC players have had success doesn't change anything I've said. The trends show an obvious, large advantage for PS4 players. And within the PC world, we know there is variation between different input types so it's really hard to assess these results.
