Rd 1 +2 was looking at even until I sneezed and made a snotty mess on the 18th sandsaver01 I normally use turn based ghosts on my rds and want to add anyone on the PS to my friends list to make finding ghosts easier . I'm guessing that most of the forum names are the same as the PS game names or similar. If you get a friends request, it's only me Mine in j3ngs_ if you want to add mine as well |

billybudd0623 Myrtle Beach was an excellent experience, hopefully I'l be able to go back sooner rather than later. Learned once I got down there that last week and this week are the two busiest weeks of the year for the golf courses down there. At least that's what the pro at The Dunes Golf and Beach Club told me. Fortunately I was able to play True Blue Monday (might be my favorite course I've played, loved everything about it, Mike Strantz design), Prestwick CC Front 9 Tuesday (not a fan of the Pete Dye design and the course was in subpar condition in my opinion), and Myrtle Beach National King's North Wednesday (Arnold Palmer design, another execellent golf course, very impressed with that one, three courses there, enormous facility). Lucky for me I threw around the GCSAA member card and got all of my golf comped for free (cost of $365 in greens fees) and got member/guest rates for my future father in law, brother in law, and his buddy. Weather was perfect too, 60° in the am, 70-75° for the high. The Golf Capitol of the World did not dissapoint. Played the coolest mini golf course I've ever played too, Cancun Lagoon Adventure Golf, 27 holes inside and out of a 50 ft tall Mayan Pyramid. Had an amazing slow roasted Prime Rib at a restaurant on the water, Bubba's Love Shack, affiliated with J Peters. Outside of that we did a lot of grilling. We were staying at the Ocean Lakes Family Campground, my soon to be father in law owns a pretty sweet RV we got to stay in. The trip couldn't have been much better, loved Myrtle Beach, SC! I played Prestwick on a trip in 2002. I liked the course but it wasn't in excellent condition. Played more like a muni. The star of the trip was Tidewater (when you could still play it for $75). Also played Blackmoor by Gary Player which I enjoyed a lot.
As for my, ahem, scores this week...
Rd 1: -3, for once, my putting kept me from exploding
Matt's courses are all excellent and this one is no exception. The thing is, the 18th is, IMO, a very poor design for a par 5. There's literally nowhere to lay up. If you're not going to give a player an area to lay up to (100-150 yards from the green), you may as well move the tees up a bit and make it a par 4. Any shot not in the FW leaves a SW layup and 175+ to the green. I suppose you could say that's the penalty for missing the FW, but it seems a bit harsh. As you can tell, I missed the FW in the first round, hit a SW to the end of the FW and actually hit a really nice 5I into the green (missed the bird putt).

I had a bogey-free round one, but had a poor putting round, just edging quite a few from 5-10 feet which I make more often than not. No bogeys is a major accomplishment for me though so I won't complain (much). Still birdied only two of the five par fives though; neither going for it in two nor laying up seems to help me get close for birdie. On to round two!  |

Violinguy69 Chuck I will get my first round in tonight. I totally agree with you about the 18th hole on this course. Not my favorite.(probably because I miss the fairways so much) Ms. Butt has me working out hard for this season. We will see if it pays off!

sandsaver011st round even Went home at lunch today but only got the first 9 in at -1. Great tempo. Finished the home 9 this evening and the red fast showed up. Parred the easy 10th followed by bogeys at 11 and 12 and another par on the 13th par 5. I am really struggling with shots under 60 yards. Bright side is played really bad and still escaped the red fasts with even par Good luck to all this week.

Had no idea there was an update since I don’t have as much time to play this as before. Hopped right in and shot a cool +8 on the front nine of round 1. Got myself sorted and brought that down to a +1 through two rounds.... woof. sandsaver01 |

sandsaver01R3 -2 R4 -4 Tot: -11 I'm so bad at this game right now! Didn't even reach the fairway off the tee on 17 in R3. Went to an even shorter driver in R4 just to hit some more fairways. Ahhhhhhhhhhh my brain is boiling. Sorry Kings of Swing for laying a goose sized egg this week.

You will be replacing Mark Lawrence. Page 1 has a link to the scoresheets that we use each week. Any questions you have, most anyone can answer for you. As Paul already said, we play all four rounds regardless if you make the cut or not. The scores will show up under your name in the leaderboard. Mike Ricks can pick them up. Be sure when you finish a round tag sandsaver01 so he knows you have played. One of our main rules is to play all four rounds as your teammates are depending on you.

bubbsboy100. Darren, we encourage interacting with the other bags of dirt here. We also like to see some good natured ribbing, but not to embarrass anyone. At last count I think we have over 50% from the US but the gap is getting closer to 50%. You will see some great players here, but most are fighting the swing each week like me.  I am currently in CC-E. All skill levels play here.
