sandsaver01Round 1: +2 Four crappy spots and a three putt lead to a three bogey start. Chipped in on 10 and 11 but followed with a double after a water shot. Let the wind get in my head too much. Round 2: E Started this round with a birdie and thought it would be better. That lasted until I put it in the water on 3 for a double. Birdied 5, 9, 11, and 18. Found water on 17 again for another double. Switched to some more forgiving wedges and it helped short game shots in practice rounds but still getting used to them

Round 2 is in the books. As Violinguy69 said, felt like I never had a flat lie this round. A lot of guess work on the approaches and a few silly mistakes cost me a few strokes. It was my first bad putting round in a long time but I played pretty well tee to green and had a lot of looks at birdie. My shot of the day came on 17 after a red SLOW drive sailed way right. Heavy rough and 170 out and 25' uphill with a terrible lie. Pulled out a 4 iron (199 yd carry normally) and got a red FAST (overcorrection from the drive) and thought it was awful. It ended up just missing the bunker, landed on the fairway and scooted up next to the hole to about 12 feet. Aaaaand I'm pretty sure I missed the putt. R2: -5 sandsaver01

sandsaver01Round 3: +3 I usually play about 5-9 holes before to figure out tempo. Tonight I played 18 and went to range before the round. Didn’t really help, it was like some of my real rounds this weekend. Mixed in four birdies with two doubles and three bogeys. Round 4: +3 Another subpar round. All but one driver was perfect or gray fast, not the same with irons. Lots of red fast or red slows. I’m pretty sure all four rounds I hit red fast on 16 into the side of mountain and in the water

sandsaver01Mixed bag in a tough match up against the Nicklaus Division favourites. Based on my pre season analysis they have three of the top five players in the division. Rd 1 = E not the only one to struggle with those high winds. Annoying as only needed a -3 to snag a point it seems. Rd 2 = -8 cashed in a bit in the softer conditions Rd 3 = -7 kept it going, against Swenson going to be tough, think he has previously described his own -7 rounds as mediocre. Something to think about at least. Rd 4 = -2 lost my momentum unfortunately from a decent middle two rounds. Was +3 at the turn after having to go for the green and finding water on the 8th instead of laying up. Managed a decent back nine to post something in the negative at least.

First off I want to apologize to my team. I have failed you and am making a mockery of you guys. I have no problem if you recruit someone to take my place. In fact I encourage it. I'm totally lost with this game, beaten down and frustrated. I have no idea what is going to happen from shot to shot. Feels fast, comes out slow, feels slow comes out fast. Totally random it feels. Several hundred hours playing this game hundreds of rounds not like I'm just picking it up for the 1'st time. So in round 1 I got myself into a mess I couldn't get out of. Putted it off the green, my fault. The next several shots had me lost on what to do. Shot limit exceeded. Such an easy shot I could have pulled off a million times before the change had beaten me. I fought on for rounds 2 3 and 4 but was so flummoxed that I just couldn't recover. Overall if it wasn't for the 85 I shot in round 1 I wouldn't feel so defeated. Usually I can count on my putting to save my ass, but I don't know if it was nerves, frustration or jank but I missed putts that were almost guaranteed as early as the round I played 10 minutes before starting my TGCT rounds this morning. Sorry for the speech had full intentions of not saying anything before I started my rounds and just report in but feel I need to apologize to the team and explain my mess. Sorry to sound so Debby Downer but I want to love this game and be able to compete and feel like I'm fighting it. Would love to play my Kinetic rounds to redeem my confidence but had two demo marks, got hit with the stupid 2 strike bug and sitting at 4 now so not going to risk playing and being demoted. (bad timing for this bug to hit..again) I grinded my ass off to get there and not ready to bounce back down so quickly so I have to put my Kinetic career on hold until I get out of this funk or give up completely. So..official report. sandsaver01Round 1
85 +15 (yep)
Round 2
70 even.R3 and 4 later in the week.

up mup kupen nup wrote this in the Happy Tee Friend's group, and I thought it would be something that would be great to share here as well (paraphrased below and italics added by me). "In view of the recent developments in relation with the red fast tweak, I would like to encourage you (especially if you are struggling with the new mechanics) to hang in there! While it is clear that it must feel like a whole new game for you, I am optimistic that you will find your rhythm in just a few more weeks. Moreover, keep in mind that, with the draft pools being based on pre-nerf stats, there is a considerable chance that the competition will not be as balanced as in the previous season anyway. So let us take the opportunity and use this season as a transitional period for adapting to the new settings in a relaxed competitive way. After all and beyond posting scores, Happy Tee Friends Dirtbags is about the mutual support in our quest for improving our game , friendly banter and competition, having a good time amongst friends, etc." The captains put a lot of work into trying to make the most balanced rosters possible for this season, but the game has considerably changed, and I'm sure we'll continue to see scores that are all over the map. At the end of the day, hopefully everybody can give it their all and have some fun.

TimBTim, if you get replaced then they may as well replace me as well. I’m in the same rowing boat mate and we ain’t got no bloody oars and Pablo and Justin are on the bank holding them so we can’t get back in the hope they get new team mates. I’m finding one hole is killing my round. Struggling to keep the fasts at bay and getting away with it a lot of the time but there always seems to be one that lands me in desperate trouble. The following few holes are usually also ruined because I’m so pissed off with myself. If it wasn’t fir this and Pixel Golf Football I’d have taken a few weeks off to try and sort things out. I’ve changed my clubs and am happy with them but for some reason I can’t quite get round without @!$#ing up good and proper at least once. Normally I’d be playing a few rounds in the week but I’ve put the game to one side and playing something else!!

That's encouraging or supportive dansamp (not sure of the word to use to describe how I feel on it lol) and is appreciated. For me I'm in a weird place and after this event and embarrassed. Have a lot of games and hours under my belt and feel like I am just starting all over. Thing is I was never a red faster but my shots usually ended up in the fast to red fast. Even Doyley in one of the threads last week or so ago said the same, he usually ends up in the red zone while trying to play for perfects. I learned to adapt to that and played well. Even after the patch I took to it well. Even posted in this thread and one of the others how I felt my tempo had improved. But last two weeks it has gotten considerably worse. I posted my thoughts on why (server related) and still believe that to this day. The player base is going to shrink a lot (and I don't just mean TGCTours) if people continue to be frustrated by playing the game. I'm just frustrated with it to be honest, want to play well, want to do right for my team and hope they realise I fight and claw every hole even after the blow up holes. That's why I kept on with rounds 3 and 4. I wasn't going to let the game beat me down. Wish I could play my Kinetic rounds. I am eager to redeem myself. Anyway, I'm just musing and reflecting on my worst ever round here in years and thankful to see others being supportive of each other and really do hope we all get back in our grooves.

TimB I've had some of the exact same thoughts since the update. Same as you found a great tempo early on, and over the last week or two it went to absolute crap, and culminated with me sitting in second last place right now on the Plat leaderboards for this week for those who have played two rounds. Sometimes I play and I consider dropping down to Pro difficulty now because I find the tempo meter to be absolutely ridiculous after certain shots. But I'm going to keep plugging along! We're all in it together.

Normally I’d be playing a few rounds in the week but I’ve put the game to one side and playing something else!! Man o man. My thoughts exactly. On everything. Having one hole destroy my round then struggle to stay afloat. I fought very hard with myself in the next 3 rounds to keep my cool and not let it get to me. I even had to turn off John when he started wringing his hands in R4 "I don't know how anyone is going to catch the leader (the mathematician) he is so far ahead" That sh%$ was getting into my head today big time lol And like you I play my rounds then go play something else. For me it's Outriders. Which I'm about to do. Unfortunate. I used to just play golf, now I prefer to play something else less frustrating lol.
