While I really hope 2K does a lot more with the designer for their next game but I totally disagree because there are some great courses in this game that I have played irl that look superb and totally do the course justice. Yeltzman's Princes really nails it for me, Forest of Arden is another course that is very well done comparing to 2 courses I have actually played in real life. Now I know everybody is raving about the graphics as it seems that it is the be all and end all for some and as someone that put's on Ray Tracing whenever I can as I like shiny pretty things, but never at the expense of performance. A plague Tale is a current gen game that's upscaled 1440p to 4K 30hz but just having a go at it on Game Pass cloud, 30fps is not a nice experience at all. 30fps for a sports game is even worse and for current gen game that is not good. Hopefully they have a performance mode but there was only mention of 4K 30hz, nothing about 60hz. So the game might look great it certainly won't feel smooth to play at those framerates on a big screen. If it has a 60hz mode I bet 9 out 10 people will be playing the game with it's performance mode as most people will always pick performance for a sports game over better resolution or graphics. PS5 & Series X are not running 2K23 at a locked 60 fps so console players will be no worse off. I personally would prefer a locked frame rate than a variable which is what 2K has opted for with its dogged engine & server network. What you’ll find is consistent repeatable performance with EA’s game that won’t vary from platform to platform. Cross platform play could even be a viable option unlike with 2K’s game. Also I am not defending 2K23's poor optimisation on consoles. This is clearly a PC game that has been sourced out to be ported to consoles and they have done a poor job as it should run and look better at 60hz when similar spec PC GPU's to Series X and PS5 run the game better.

Graphics are not the be all, end all. But it's hard to ignore how far behind this series is falling in that department. The gameplay in 2K23 is quite solid, IMO. But it's going to get much harder to look at as games move to next-gen systems exclusively.
With the way they are treating the designers in 2K23, by removing tricks that make flat-bottom bunkers easier and taking four months to add in mouse and keyboard controls in the designer for PC users (while still not adding numerical shortcuts back in), it seems maybe they're not as willing to hold onto that feature in the future. IDK...as a designer myself, it's sad to see how that feature, one that will set the series apart from EA, is getting zero love.

Yeah if you think there aren't a whole slew of user created beautiful courses in 2k23 I really don't know what you are looking at. Mostly ports from the previous game. Most of the top designers have spoken and they have very little interest in producing content for 2k3. I'm sure some of it's burn out but it's just old and tired at this point. Shelf life of this game will be shortened if they don't produce courses.

With a solid career mode and online play that might be enough for a lot of people though.

The grid lines seem better on Playstation. That's my only request. Please fix the PC Green Grid Lines.

I'm onboard if you all create a Forum Society where we can share our rounds and experiences online with each other. If EA is just sit in my house and play without a community to share it with publicly, it will get traded in or shelved. That is, after I watch you all test it out and get it on sale, hopefully after a couple of patches.

The last TW EA game had country clubs I can’t remember if they were in the RM game where do you think HB got their idea for societies from.

TBH EA's country were all a bit naff though, the online community was a bit crap on EA's console games so I had zero interest in it really. I have been video golf gaming since leaderboard on the C64 so have played a lot of video golf games and HB brought back that buzz of online community that I love. Also anyone interested on Sim live golf and with cross platform coming check out USE: Multi Platform which is a sim society all about cross platform sim golf. It will be the HUB to arrange those private matches and a society that is also about live matches,. Bit sick of the total negativity to this game, I am really excited for cross platform golf in our sim society, big game changer for me.

I’ve played just about every golf game ever produced for PC or console starting with Leaderboard on the C64 I even returned one to a company and got my money back because it was piss, if I remember right it was Greg Norman’s Golf or something like that.

Cross play is a prime example of the poor decisions HB make with their game. It’s the single most varied game I’ve ever seen performance wise & yet it’s not HB’s priority to have platform parity they want a chugging PS4 gamer to play against Mr King Rig on 120 FPS. HB consistently overlooks the games glaring issues & want to add sh%$ that’s pointless.
