Unfortunately object meter proving too much at this stage Sad emoji face! Such a shame this version of the design tool is providing some insurmountable challenges. I’m not ruling it out completely but you know what I’m like, if I can’t do the version I’m happy with then I don’t bother! The hardest thing is just trying to get my previous tour courses over! Brookline is a nightmare, Hayling is at 120% so will likely have to remove all long grasses which takes away from it a bit. Kind of why I’ve opted to do Huntercombe, it’s an environment I can manage easily with the objects as a lot of it is creating background farmland and just sculpting the grass bunkers well. I may also have to soften a few greens as some are hard to get pins on at 143! The other ones I’m really keen to make work are Swinley, Woodhall Spa and Hankley common. I’m just burnt out from doing all that heather at West Hill and those courses have WAY more. I might have to just do it a bit more sparingly and just get a cool environment going |

Is it me or is it near impossible to do the retaining wall on the 18th to make it play correct.

I managed the one on the 8th ok but took ages in 2k21, might be easier in 2k23 with the wall following the slope. Either way, it’ll probably need the green resculpting around the edges after, definitely no easy fix! |

Not going to lie, watching this on TV this week and realising there’s not a good, up to date version in the game has spurred me on to maybe try and finish this.
I haven’t had a look at it in 2k23 yet as all the work I did was in 2k21 so I’ll need to see if it’s possible with the meter.
Whilst I’m reluctant to, I could perhaps look at doing a “dialled back” version that doesn’t have as much planting detail as I usually put up but it still might be better than anything we currently have for Wentworth

Last 2 years i have thought the same with the Lidar i put the pins on the course from this weeks event, so i could try a few shots out,i did not realise how tough the greens were at Wentworth and admire how good the pro are....Saying that on my version the terrain around the 18th does not seem anything like it should be.
i do agree need an updated version the old version was very good for it's time.

Yeah the new (new-ish now 😂) greens have got some crazy elevation changes in them. The 5th looks subtle from where they have the camera but it's like a 3 foot slope down the middle 😬 |

I Think it's more to do with 2k/HB wanting you to buy Golf balls that won't roll from the pro shop. One of the strangest decisions ever for a Golf Game with a PGA Name.
I know i am biased but i feel how the game is designed more suited towards links style course designs which play better but like i have said before out all the games i have enjoyed 2k23 the least out the series. Just something missing from 2k23 and to be honest i can't really pin point the reason.

Just confirmation I’m full working on this again.
If finished the retaining walls and am now onto clubhouse, if we go off of the object meter, I’m 52% complete on this project 🤣
To be fair when I initially pulled it into the game I used LiDAR trees to help with rough heights and location, I’ve replaced all of these with the correct trees so that’s where the 50% comes from.
I’ll need to fine tweak these and pad out the dense areas as well as hiding the open spaces as I won’t have enough meter to fully plant this massive plot.
Heard a good quote about this course on a broadcast; “I challenge anyone to be able to point to where the clubhouse is once they get past the 4th hole”.
It’s the least tight routing ever made!
I’ll also have to forgo some of the mansions except the really obvious ones like the 3rd behind the green and the 17th as the meter will not allow it

I’m still just tidying up all the playing areas at the moment but once that is done I will publish a 60% beta, it’ll have bare patches, no long grass and will not have hedges and OB, background forests etc. but all the main trees are in place.
I’m conscious this has been a while so the followers of this thread will be able to give it a whirl at feedback on green speeds, textures, pins etc.
Will keep you going until the final publish which will be early 2024

Still re-doing the bunkering as splines not ideal for the shapes, bit of fine tuning with their sculpting as well to rid them of jagged edges, water hazards are going in as well. Still not planting bridges atc. at this stage, just getting the playability aspect like tees, bunkers, paths, greens all smoothed out. Then onto the proper dressing up of the course. It's slow going, I'm getting about 8-9 hours in a week at the moment and I reckon there's possibly 100 hours left to go. P.S I've turned my HDR off but still getting washed out photos, it looks much more vibrant in game!     |

Have you tried taking a Windows screenshot?, no need to turn off HDR,it takes two different formats and you can upload one of them to imjur (the other isn't compatible) then just copy the BBCODE and just paste to your forum post, this is one I took of hole 1 of Stoke Park and the colours look fine and it doesn't have that washed out colour haze. I just use the Razer Wolverine screenshot button on my controller to take the screenshot. When Wentworth is done message me and I'll test it out for you, really exited for this one as your courses are some of my favourite in the game and Wentworth really is the big one for me   |
