***breaking news*** After 20 minutes into the Barcelona ( mbuenger ) - Ajax match, all Ajax players have been taken to hospital with severe headache!!! They all complained about seeing goalposts shaking, not being able to control their movements, especially on shots on goal from outside the penalty area. They finished the first 20 minutes (-7) but then they dropped like flies and could not continue... This looks ominous; highly doubtful whether Erik ten Hag will have enough players left who are able to stand upright for the remainder of the match... Seriously, this course is impossible to play on my PS4; lag all over the place, especially on chips and putting. No way to control distance... Yeah I've seen that mentioned Frans. Even on my pretty good PC I had an odd slight stutter on follow cam.

Funny how the consoles in particular are struggling with lag and stutter in the week they introduce arcade golf with several bots in each game. Perhaps the PC servers are less populated or fewer Divot Derby matches going on. I had no issues with lag or stutter and I know it was checked twice before scheduling with no mention of such issues. I do know that Ben and I have had a couple of sluggish games during Euro Prime Time but perhaps this server load contributes to my more frequent slows, although I maintain that they are because I am a terrible Pixel Golfer.

Barcelona - AFC Advil Amsterdam
Erik ten Hag sent 11 players on the pitch with each of them having taken 12 painkillers and an ‘upper’ to try and salvage something from the first half. He told each and every one of them not to worry about the drugs test; surely down+up=neutral...
Players were able to stand upright and kept passing the ball to each other to avoid Barcelona getting any easy chances... but surely that’s not enough?
Round 2: -11
Turned off all graphics settings and played for the inevitable slows on splash and chip shot... it was painful to get through it this way but at least I managed to avoid bogies and worse this time.

No issues here - just steady average play:

Second half: painkillers kicked in and Ajax played half asleep for the first 20 minutes and then... the painkillers’ effect was gone but the ‘uppers’ were still in the Ajax players’ systems... 😎😎😎 Really nice course, such a shame about the stuttering in the high winds.

Hoping to catch the defending champs still a bit groggy, and looking for absolutely any advantage they could find, the Italians made match officials an offer they couldn't refuse and had the start time moved up to 8:00 a.m. With the proper amount of espresso, the Azzurri were bright-eyed and were flying around the pitch with the energy of a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs. It'll be up to the Brewers if they can match the intensity brought to the table by the Italians.

1st Round E
Yet another slow start for Celtic and that normally means an uphill struggle to take anything from the match. Most of the action came after the 14th minute mark with 3 good chances spurned and some shoddy defending in between.

After getting their first pixel golf football win, Herne Bay were feeling a little hung over after a night on the p!ss and it showed at the start going +4 by the fourth hole, but a hair of the dog sipper's helped them finish at +2 and maybe a slim hope of a goal, but I doubt it

Barcelona - Ajax
Barcelona welcomes Ajax (fransslabak ) into Camp Nou in a match the sees manager Ronald Koeman face off against his former squad. In an interesting decision, Koeman decided to give the players 4 days rest following their crushing defeat to the defending champions last week. The team seemed ready for the match in warmups but the Dutch headache proved contagious as Barca floundered out of the gate, allowing an embarrassing own goal (double bogey on a par 5, really?!). The remainder of the opening 23 proved rather uneventful as a chip in goal by Messi from the fringe of the penalty area pushed the score under par (R1: -2).
While the Ajax players were away from the pitch, the Barca players took some liqui-gels to provide fast-acting relief. Still searching for their form the Blaugrana charged into the latter stages of the opening half. The winds had died down in the stadium and shots were taking their expected shapes. Trouble found Barca in stoppage time as a Pique clearance found the space between players and Ajax was able to close out the half with an easy goal (R2: -8)
Coming out of the half with renewed confidence and seeing the Dutch team still under the effects of their hospital medications Koeman had confidence his team could manage their first Premier League goal. Once more, the defensive play the hurt them in first half stoppage time did again in the 61st minute as a poor Lenglet clearance was struck too fast, curved into the subs warming up, and bounced into the water bottles beside the pitch (R3: -7)
The game closed with Koeman knowing his team would be up against the odds as he noticed the effects of the uppers starting to take over. A number of chip in goals kept the cardboard cutout fans interested but the Spaniards had nothing left to push forward against the Dutch at this point (R4: -7)
Koeman walked away from the match looking at one positive, despite the outcome, this was the most consistent his team had played in a number of weeks. Congrats to Ajax on the victory, tried to make it interesting but couldn’t close out the rounds in the middle of the match

It was weird, they knew English was being spoken but it was hard to follow what the heck was being said. As a result Dragons were definitely cream crackered in the first half, a new adjective they did pick up the night before at the Four Fathoms.
Rd1 71 (-2) Rd2 72 (-1)
At least the beer was better than American horse piss like Budweiser, but a Lagunitas would have improved the selection.

After a slow start, had to throw a few subs on....didn't take anyone off, just played with 14. Not sure if it will make a difference though, but at least they played a bit better than last week.

The Pirates came off the ship with cannons a-blazin! This blaze only last a short time, as they fizzled out at the end of the first half.

The highs and lows of football management, all in one half of football! Third week on the road in a row for the Cider Army after their two week stay in Glasgow, they traveled straight down to that there London in good spirits. The manager thought he had a bit of motion sickness from the journey as everything seemed to be stuttering horribly as he watched the action unfold, and early on his team looked like they were struggling to get to grips with the action. But they put in a solid defensive display on the whole and as the half wore on they started playing some decent football. Still nothing much was on target when they had a sight of goal, a lot of close shaves and bad luck. "Why does nothing good ever happen to us?"
And then, in the 20th minute Liam Walsh, finally fit after his successful loan spell the previous season at some second rate League One side, picked up the ball in his own half. He looked up and spotted the keeper off his line and had a pop...
Euphoria for the boys in red! Liam Walsh is mobbed by his ecstatic team mates and at the drinks break everyone is all smiles. It didn't last long. Straight after the break Walsh picks the ball up again and under pressure passes back to the keeper, only to see it roll straight through his legs and in to the net. They lost their heads at that point, the collective motion sickness was back and even the strikers were hitting the corner flag from 6 yards. It was a horror show for 10 minutes, until some semblance of control returned for the last 10.
67 (-6) and 76 (+3)
I don't know wtf happened? The lag is really bad on some parts of the course but I managed it ok in the first round. Wasn't going to play round 2 but I was feeling so good I thought I should. Bad decision!! NINE on the 1st after going in the water twice, a laggy double at 3, completely lost control of the putting line to an extent that I'm really not sure it was all me. I missed have missed 6 putts inside 8 feet by pulling them to 10 o'clock. I never do that!! I'm at a loss. Still, I think that's only my third alby in 6 years and 4 games! Sadly that's not the images of those rounds that I'm left with.
By the way, excuse the hair! It's for the Ryder Cup we're currently playing. That's going crap too!
