The new squad showed up on the field. That's it. They had no idea how to play, their running game was an atrocious "Stop And Sonic" style (mostly either red slow or red fast, driving tempo at least was there a lot more!), and honestly it resulted to a whole lot of nothing. A few shots were had, but think we took the most of the peppering from all sides, especially towards the end of the quarter, since that's honestly the smart move to make. Who would actually be scared of a Finnish 5th division team? I reckon Juve advances with their big round. Do I still need to show my other cards from later rounds? Because I have them, but don't really know if I want to...

A good test from the Herne Bay side, but the Italians were solid on the back end, preventing them from getting settled into any sort of rhythm offensively. On to the Round of 8!

And for the quarters, the Azzurri knew they'd have to up the pace to catch Ajax. It took them most of the first half to get settled, but a wonder shot from Lucchese jump started the offense. (Holed out an 81-yard wedge from the heavy rough on a ~75 degree sidehill slope.) Will it be enough?

fransslabak Art Vandelay Still many shots given away from the 20-70 yard range (look at my performance on the easy par 4 13th), but I'm optimistic. The results point in the right direction. Cheers and good luck all! With that, F91 Dudelange up mup kupen nup beats Orlando Pirates Art Vandelay 9 - 4 !! What a cup tie... F91 Dudelange moves into the quarter finals to set up a clash with Juventus FutureBuckeye11!

Ajax - Cassino Calcio cassinochipsThe Godenzonen and the Italian Champions face each other in the quarter final. Ajax put in another erratic performance but once again shot at goal more times than any Italian on espresso could say Cassino in 20 seconds...

I got 2!! May sound pathetic but I'm chuffed to bits with that considering how good Juve are!! And looking like making the cut and getting rid of my last demo mark. Something to take into next week. Roll on Season 3....

I cant even bring myself to do a proper write up given the state of rage I am in with how the tempo of this game can just change mid-round. Juve and F91 were trading goals in the 1st half but right when Juve was starting to look like they were going to lock it down in the 2nd everything changed. Everything became either red slow or fast out of nowhere. Smh It was a solid round by up mup kupen nup but I know this is one that got away

Now that Juve have been eliminated from the cup it is officially transfer season. Those in charge decided it was time to bring in a whole new set of midfielders and tried to get younger at a couple other positions. The changes seemed to all be the right moves in our first practice session (shot 58 in R4 of CC event). I'm sure these won't be the last tweaks to the formation before the next season gets underway but Juve is at least appearing to be on track again.

For the record, don't think you'll need it but my carefree second round was: 5 4 3 5 5 4 4 5 3 4 4 3 5 4 5 3 4 3 I'm another one who has made wholesale changes to their squad since the above round. Played a couple of rounds last night, top of the pile in one of my societies followed by a decent -8 in the first round of the US Open qualifier. 77% GIR and at that stage was 8th on the overall leaderboard! I am fully aware it might just be the new boys trying to impress to earn a contract. We signed a player called Tony Dinning a few years back. Looked like a world beater when we had him on loan, gave him a big fat contact and then he looked like a panel beater for the rest of his time with us.

***friendly reminder*** xcltaff1980, LEFTY79 and crushtastic, please be advised that the VAR on duty for the Pixel Golf Polling Points Cup takes polling points rather seriously and he needs your scorecards for the last-16 matches by the end of today (wherever you live)...
