I'm thinking about going down the Irish links route for this one. Going to take inspiration from courses like Tralee, Enniscrone, Carne, Waterville etc. I've wanted to do an Irish links course for a while. Just gotta find that balance for CC difficulty and I should be good to go...

What are the rules pertaining to WIP threads and the like? No dick pics. Only rule. You're not the boss of me.

You're not the boss of me. I think there's medication for that.

I may or may not have just completely changed the direction of where my CC contest entry is gonna go. There was a warhawk137 course called Sekhet Aaru (if you can Chris, I'd love a port ) a while back set in Egypt, complete with pyramids and temples and the River Nile and all. It's an idea I'd love to try - after all, gotta be creative! Whether this one ends up being the one, I don't know. But I'll give it a try lol, yes yes, that one was first on my list anyway. Been busy but I’ll try to get around to it soon.

Another idea I have - I'm thinking my greens are gonna be wild, so, in a b101 Black Salt Valley inspired move, when the course is done it will be published in two versions for 8 pin sets. Also gonna see if I can build this course with green speeds less than 144 (although, knowing people's thoughts on slow greens, it might end up being in the 150 range. Work to be done!)

mattf27 - Question for the competition. The course I am designing, I would like to meet several requirements, especially the 6,900 yard requirement. However, I would also like to make a "US Open Version of the Course" which would be published with an additional set of tees, different pins, different conditions and galleries. Is this okay to do? Thank You!

I’m not Matt, but this is perfectly fine. You can either make one publish and say CCs play from X tees, or publish a CC contest version and an alternate version

Yep, that's completely fine. However, you should publish the US Open version after the CC version just so it can't be used for the public to give feedback on your contest course.

As this is my first contest outside of Design League, I want to make sure I'm abiding by the rules. If I were to post a screenshot of my course asking for suggestions, is that a taboo? I'm assuming screenshots to just schowcase the project, or streaming or videos are fine, just wondering if some minimal outside feedback is ok (to be specific I just want a general consensus if people find my lighting too harsh). Thankies for any responses.

mattf27 Question about the million yard area requirement - can we go lower? I'm thinking about doing something that's 1250 by 700 rather than 800.

Matt, is there going to be seperate threads for the various groups so we can all play mind games with each other without distracting any other groups?
Btw, for anyone interested the basic layout I have done without looking at criteria has about 10 different ones I can choose from. Not bad for just stuffing around on Friday evening.
