Tournament Summaries - Season Openers
As is the tradition we start off the season with a Shootout. We have 5 in the season and they are designed to be fun and have a chance to shoot a low score on a relatively short course with easier greens and benign conditions. It's important for members especially newer members that these conditions and scores are not the norm. We play 31 tournaments and the conditions and courses vary from ridiculously easy to unbelievably difficult.

Pro Am - Trudeau Championship
Despite all the warnings and even advice on how to play the course it seemed that many Pro Am members ignored the advice. Global Golf Tour offers a variety of course setups to make it fun and interesting. Society play is about shooting lower than the the other competitors not shooting in the low 60's every round.

US Open Tournament Summaries
In keeping with USGA tradition they chose difficult courses and then went the extra step to make the greens hard and fast. If you played patiently, took what the courses gve you and kept your cool you had a good chance of finishing high up on the leaderboard even if you shot over par.
The Green Blazer is coming up in a few weeks and you can expect the same types greens that the PGA Tour players encounter. If you want to prepare go practice with moderate to high winders, firm to very firm greens and fast to very fast green speeds.

Green Blazer Par 3 Cup summaries
What is suppose to be a fun little tournament before the Main Event has turned into a battle in all the societies. We had everything from super low scores to aces and the return of the the mighty "ThunderBolt" who proceeded to take his frustrations out on the Tournament director, greensstaff and deposited his entire bag of clubs on the lake on the 9th hole after shooting a 42 on the final 9. He was last seen sipping bourbon on the clubhouse veranda as he waited for the crowds to disappear so he could retrieve his clubs from the lake.

It was like the United Nations at the top of the Leaderboard with players from 5 different countries claiming the Green Blazer. The international players are getting stronger which means that the Ryder Cup which will be held later in April will be more competitive than ever.
