The Old South Championship was hosted at Quail Hollow and proved to be a challenging course with the 17th and 18th holes ruining more than a few tournaments. The UK Championship was held at Dundonald where the conditions were much more conducive to low scoring.

Keeping everyone on their toes this past tournament; the Master Society played the Tireland Open @ Firestone and had their first tournament of the season with some challengiong conditions on a very challenging course. The Pro Am Society was on the same course but with more gentle playing conditions and even the top scores were not that low. Our Pro Society had to endure the Bi Polar Challenge and on day 2 only a handful of players broke par with most players shooting 12 to 20 shots higher in Rd 2. Oaklandish_Bros finished with a final round 63!!!
Pro Am Society - Tireland Open 1. Jimmy3275 (1st time winner) 2. AlexHoying (Always near the top in Pro am & Pro) 2. Rklausing7 (1st time in the Top 3)
Pro Society - Bi Polar Challenge 1. Oaklandish_Bros 2. SabreMase716 2. Wheatdog24
Honorable mention to a couple of new members MirkoBroCop & Cnicho92 for finishing 4th.
Master Society - Tireland Open 1. Theweez5293 2. Glenn4233 3. ScreamingKidney
My slump continues with a pair of 35th place finishes and a DNF in the Master event. I am either going to need putting lessons, a lobotomy or an intervention to get back on track.
All 3 Societies are in Augusta, GA for the Green Blazer. Today we are playing the Par 3 Cup and after an off day they thrash about on the most exclusive course in the world for a chance to win the Green Blazer.

I know what many of you thought...."Oh a Par 3 contest that will be easy and fun". I made a royal mess of it including taking a 9 on the last hole and on another hole putting downhill missing the pin and rolling right into a bunker. Yeah it was fun!!
Pro Am Society - Green Blazer Par 3 Cup 1. Vasher1304 (1st win!!) 2. Kculleton14 (another newcomer) 3. AlexHoying
16 players within 3 shots of the winner and lots of new members in the Top 20!!!
Pro Society - Green Blazer Par 3 Cup 1. AlKitts81 2. ScreamingKidney 2. Grogstarr
Rd 2 was played under maxed out difficulty settings. Well done boys.
Master Society - Green Blazer Par 3 Cup 1. Rd-Rooster (new comer and 1st time winner) 2. DJFlower (back in form for the Major) 2. Hitandhope119 (another newbie)
Definition of tough is playing partial pitch shots on Master level. I hit 3 spectators and there are already 2 lawsuits pending

The Green Blazer is my favorite tournament of the year on the most challenging course we play. One minor mistake can turn into a disaster. Congratulations to everyone who participated especially those who struggled yet persevered and completed the tournament. Special kudos to AlKitts81 who broke the curse and won the double. He won both the Par 3 Championship and the Green Blazer.
Good news for the Tour though now we play a Shootout which is set up to produce low scores and rebuild your tattered confidence.
Pro Am Society - Green Blazer 1. AlexHoying 2. Kculleton 3. We1theleegartens 3. BarryLavety (aka. Mr. Consistency)
Pro Am - Green Cardigan 1. Jahjah333 2. Hitman-Stampede 3. Mustange1967
Lots of unfamiliar names in the Top 10...great to see.
Pro Society - Green Blazer 1. Alkitts81 2. Zippyburger 3. Whineycracker
Pro Society - Green Cardigan 1. Bretmc 2. Cedfill35 2. SRSQ1
Master Society - Green Blazer 1. Texasboi3000 2. Djflower28 3. Slake-Moth 3. Theweez5293
Due to a labor dispute by the greens crew our Masters had to play the same pins all 3 rounds. Things have been taken care of and it won't happen again.

Master Society “Five Win Rule”
When a member wins his 5th tournament of the season in the Master Society he is ineligible for the next 5 events. He will be advised via PS4 messenger that he may not play if necessary his membership status will be changed to “banned” until eligible for reinstatement. If a player wins a 6th event he will then be ineligible for the next 6 tournaments, etc.
The reason for this is that we do not want one or two players dominating the Society events.

Major Tournament Summary
What a weekend for competition in all 3 societies. Record entries in all 3: Pro Am 117, Pro 108 and Master 43. It was a Major so that meant challenging conditions for all societies and it certainly caused some grief for players. Newer members definitely are shocked at how difficult this game can be once you move off designer defaults.
Stay tuned for a poll in the Facebook Group where you have an opportunity to vote on how severe you would like future Majors to be.
