British Open Summaries
We played 2 different versions of Royal Liverpool with the Pro Am Society playing one and the Pro/Master the other. Unfortunately, the Pro/Master version had extremely easy greens and the "high wind" setting only produced winds in the 11-15 mph range. This resulted in ridiculous scores and not at all like the normal Global Golf Tour style of Major Championship. The Pro Am's had a much testier version of Royal Liverpool.

We update the leaderboard after each Major, we now only have 7 tournaments left and the bookies are no longer taking bets that BarryLavety is going to hold on to his lead. FaFaDaddy will soon overtake Irishfanatic while GoBlues and Tokyo Pimp is making a late season charges to get into the top 5.

We had a nice Shootout as a prelude to the Ryder Cup. Now it's time to tackle Torrey Pines which is a long and narrow course. Even with forecasted mild winds (under 10 mph) it's going to 3 rounds of battling. Avoid the thick rough and any big numbers and you will finish well.

Tournament Summaries
The Ryder Cup was completed in conjunction with the regular society event. A total of 32 society members competed on Team USA and Team World with 8 members acting as spares. The participants were spread over all 3 societies which was great to see. We instituted a handicap system to level out the abilities and it worked extremely well.

Qualifier Summaries:
Big turn out for the Qualifier with just under 200 members playing in the 3 Societies.
The Season Finale starts later today and runs for 3 days. The next season starts on March 10th at midnight GMT. The new season will feature changes to the Master Society and the addition of a Pro Gold Society. These societies will be managed by Slake_Moth and Traffic-8 following the Global Golf Tour model but they will also be adding their own special touch to the societies whcih will make them even better and more exciting. Changes for the New Season
As we begin a new season with the expansion to four Societies it’s an opportune time to make changes to how promotions from the Pro Am and Pro Societies will be determined. The following criteria will now be used:
Pro Am Society:
Any player shooting 10 society rounds of -9 or lower, or 5 rounds of -12 or lower, or 2 rounds of -14 or lower, or 4 wins in a season will be promoted to Global Golf Pro Tour. We are no longer looking at scores that you played in casual rounds or in other societies.
I highly encourage people who have been playing at the Pro Am settings for more than a few months and are scoring -5 or better on a regular basis to also to also join the Global Pro Society now and begin playing some tournaments on the Pro settings. You will find that your swing timing and putting will improve and thereby your scores will also improve in both Pro Am and Pro societies.
Pro Society:
Any player shooting 10 society rounds of -10 or lower, or 5 rounds of -12 or lower, or 2 rounds of -15 or lower, or 4 wins in a season will be promoted to Global Golf Pro Gold Tour. We are no longer looking at scores that you played in casual rounds or in other societies.
If you are enjoying the style of tournaments in Global Golf Tour I recommend Pro players also give Global Pro Gold a try. While the level of play is slightly higher I think you will enjoy the competition and the different Society atmosphere.
We are also now offering a Master Society with no putting meter. Come give it a try and revisit what it was like to putt on TGC2019.
The Pro Gold and Master Societies are being managed by other members who will still be following the Global Golf Tour template but they will be adding their own special touches and modifications. I look forward to seeing you playing in our various societies as we move forward.
