I agree with you, it’s not fair. However, I will say that a lot of the top players play for perfects ( Sloaner, Cody Vols are the two examples I’ve seen on twitch, both have many victories on tour).
You can be very good playing the fast cheese but you will never be the best.

I’m not sure what’s worse, caring about the leaderboard so much or caring how others play the game so much it turns you bitter And someone caring about someone being bitter about a bad game mechanic being exploited could be put in that same context. The game mechanic works just fine, there are several strategies to play the game, if what you are doing isn’t working for you, try something else, better than crying wolf. I’ve missed two cuts in a row, but I’m not on here shouting that everyone that’s winning is a fraud.

Tbh I don't care how you or others play the game, cheesy hooks and warts included.

You can be very good playing the fast cheese but you will never be the best. I agree. I think red fasts might be an issue at the lower levels, where the field has players going for perfects but struggling to get them. In that case, I would say the red faster probably has an advantage. However, as you move up it becomes less and less and eventually not an advantage at all. Like you said, the best players are going to be the ones who can hit perfects. Cseanny might be an exception though, that video is pretty crazy! However, I seriously doubt anyone else has put that much effort into charting, and I also think he could crush it playing for perfects as well. I think to be competitive though, you will need to fast drives. It’s critical you have the 295 to keep pace, and if you have a calibration like mine on PS4, it’s actually not even possible to hit perfect unless you move the marker in every time to change the points. I find doing that though seems to tweak tempo to where your normal perfect swing results in a fast. So you end up hitting fast anyway lol. I will say though that red fasts makes a complete joke out of legend difficulty. I have played MANY legend rounds, going for perfects still other than on drives. I can regularly shoot under par, but it is challenging. As an experiment though, I tested out playing legend with all red fasts to see the difference. Mind you, I had no clue on the distances and where to aim. It took me a few rounds to get an idea as I was just winging it, but I was pretty quickly able to get to double digits under (-10 at Sawgrass)

The higher the difficulty, the larger the red fast window grows (I think). Everyone understands this, right? The Red Fast is just an awful game flaw. A big mistake not to program more dispersion on the equivalent of a shank. Either it’s fixed in the future or competition will remain flawed. Its existence distorts everyone’s ability when compared with others.

The only thing sadder than this is grown men complaining about a video game........... The only thing sadder is grown men taking advantage of video games flaws to win something that has zero monetary value. What makes it even sadder is posting it up and telling other people how to do it. Nothing new though. There is always a couple if these guys going back to when Tiger went online. Never forget there was a guy called Tigerwoody ( something like that) and he had two consoles and would play against himself on the mini 3 hole ranked games to be on the top of the leaderboard. What a winner.

A big mistake not to program more dispersion on the equivalent of a shank. Either it’s fixed in the future or competition will remain flawed. Its existence distorts everyone’s ability when compared with others. I don’t think it is an unfair advantage on master though...at least from my perspective on PS4. I feel like most would probably agree that the “optimal” way to play from a competitive standpoint is to fast drives and probably woods, and go for perfects on everything else (unless the shot actually calls for a fast, of course). There seems to be this notion that all the top level players are just fasting everything, when it’s not the case. With legend though, given the difficulty of hitting perfects it makes it a huge advantage to red fast. I just don’t see it as the case on master...although I wouldn’t argue that playing like that does seem cheesy and something I wouldn’t enjoy doing. No argument that it’s game flaw, I do wish it was addressed but it’s not going to be.

Full disclosure before people say I’m just bitter etc- I’m a platinum tour player who plays the red fast....The red fast is a huge game flaw. It still takes skill to execute & get the ball in the hole, just much less skill. I wish they would fix it but don’t think they will. With the signing of Tiger I fear we are now in the every year release & any gameplay improvements will cost us another $50....
How hard would it be to add 3 variables to a red fast- straight long 10 yards, 10 yards long left, & 10 yards dead left... double those penalties for very fast... instead we have one miss that is the same every time 🤦🏻♂️
Now that I have a PS5 (was on original Xbox) the tempo is less glitchy @ 60fps- I can actually get perfects regularly.. much more enjoyable- will probably just play for perfects & see where I end up. 🤷🏻♂️

I play lots of fast shots, from driving to lob shots. Against both side winds. Every situation is different, and I'm not affraid to hit perfect shots too. What's guiding me more than anything is hitting at 100% or more. If I think the good anwser to get close to the pin is hitting my 6-Iron perfect, I do it. But I'll red fast that 6-Iron at 104% before trying to hit at 97% with my 5-Iron. That's why I think adding the fast swings is the best, it gives you more options.
while it might be a little bit easier to hit, it is tougher to aim. There's more than one fast swing, every clubs reacts differently, every wind direction affects the ball way more than perfects. Hitting a bad shots, like a perfect when you're fully aim on left can have distarous results. It's easy to hit a bad fast shots as it can do miracles some times.

Why wouldn’t you just loft it (or de-loft the 6)? Just curious!

Perhaps I’m uneducated but if it’s not easier to get a red fast than a perfect/gray, then why do you think so many players play this way? And you’re right, when players found loopholes in previous versions to hit predictable shots, API metrics were implemented to disqualify their scores. And it’s ok that you can’t hit a fairway without a red fast, that’s kinda the point. The practice range is always there for you. Name one example where specific api metrics were put in place to remove certain play styles 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Lol the entire state of Wisconsin cannot make enough cheddar to keep up with that. But it’s legal so........ enjoy So devoid of any real skill, what a load of crap. Use the shot shaper for draw and hit the same shots aiming for perfect , no why do that when it is so much easier to play for bad tempo than play the same shot with real draw which is a more difficult shot to pull off. Oh well people seem to enjoy cheesing the game for some reason, is it such a big deal to see your name on a virtual leaderboard that at the end of the day means absolutely nothing. It’s definitely a wheel of some very fine Gouda. It has soured my desire to play the game as much as I used to. There’s no moral victory for me while I continue to play the game as intended. Only a slice of respect for my own self, and the enjoyment of playing the great courses that designers have efforted for us to play. It would be nice to place well in tourneys but it isn’t the end all, be all of my day. If I play well, I’ll do well. I won’t beat the cheese but that’s fine, I never expect to anyway. The only thing about it that irks me about the fasts is that the fix is easy and logical but the developer apparently believes this manipulation of the gameplay is ok. They have zero intention on making this right or proper. To me it’s like playing a shooter, any shooter, and having bullets curve around or go through obstacles to take someone out and the dev not fixing it. They know it’s broke and not playing the way they intended but they refuse to fix it. Instead, it’s treated like some bullsht undocumented feature. It’s impossible to police in a league environment so there cannot be any rules against it here or in any other societies. That makes it legal by default. Nothing can be done about it by any of us. Only HB can fix this. Sadly, I’m not counting on the next iteration of the game to fix it either.

Why wouldn’t you just loft it (or de-loft the 6)? Just curious! Yeah well, I was giving an example like that. Didn't thought about real distances. Point is, I'll fast shot and overshoot if necessary before doing partial swing. But I do get your question and I'll give you 2 example to explain what I would do. Let's say I want to remove 5 yards to a 5-Iron. I'll gently pushed down loft and will go perfect. Not hit at 96-97. But If I need to play with loft/angle heavily, than the tempo/swing plane shrinks to the size of legend swing. With a wegde in hand, I'm okay for whatever. With anything else, I try to avoid that as much as possible. So before tweaking the shots alot, I'll favor another club at red fast with minimal shaping in the shot as a better option. Swing plane is more my problem than tempo on some day, so shrinking that swing plane line with loft/angle is costly to my game, that's why I'll avoid it as much as I can.

I run into similar problems where if I try too much loft and/or angle, it is no longer possible to hit perfect. My calibration points are on the left and right edges of the white for perfects (nothing in between), so I can only do so much before those points become gray fast/slow. So depending on the club, I’ll sometimes have no choice but to fast it.
