Game play aside. I don't think this place will survive past this season if they go master in CC. Majority of donors probably come from CC. Just by sheer numbers. If on master you will have people getting frustrated and dropping out. There will be more threads of people complaining it's too hard (people who only just found this site and maybe don't understand what it's all about. They will go out in a blaze of wagtunes/glory. Admins will be barraged with nasty emails way more often from the same. Numbers of participants on this site will drop. Donations will suffer. We will not make the season goal. Not trying to sound all doom and gloom but it's just the way I see it playing out. There are no tutorials for new players on how to upgrade, what to upgrade, how to play on harder difficulties, no messaging about what this site is all about. People will come in here blind, be floored by the difficulty and will lash out. Also, they will eventually spread the word that "TGCTours is..." fill in whatever negative description you want. That all being said. I hate birdie fests and up until yesterday was thinking I won't be able to manage with master. Now I think I can and will survive. Others will not. I think a split of the CC would be the best way to deal with it all. But yeah, only 3 admins, no coders. I understand TOTALLY why they may choose the one size fits all. I too would pay to have them do what needs to be done. That said. I'll be donating again and most likely will end up around the same as last year. In reality, does it really make a true difference at what tier we all play in CC? Master or Pro the players will still get slotted in a tier. The particular tier will have a full allotment of players competing. Now if master was treacherous and unplayable I’d understand. I’m just a CC-D player. I’ve been playing the Kinetic and Elite tourneys as they are on master. My scores average somewhere between (-3 to +6) The master was nowhere like it was in the old game. I think it is way too soon to judge on what master will do to the players with regards to dropping out or going to the Beer League… We are basically one week in and less than a week with the Oct 14 release date. Players have to grind no doubt and their play will improve with the fittings.
I just feel Pro setting will be like taking candy away from a baby. Do players like the cuts line in the double digits after one round? Week after week? The irritates me more than a hard difficulty as with difficulty I’ll be slotted in the proper tier anyway with hope of improving. I really don’t worry about the tiers I’m in at a particular time. I just like the Tour format and will adjust week to week. And I fully understand what you are saying. I’m just throwing in my 2 cents.

I’ll just agree wholeheartedly with you. We are at the start of a journey. And I, for one, won’t miss birdiefest’s. Presuming TGCT will go Master but we’ll see. Going to be a lot of fun learning the new game together and seeing where we all drop into the TGCT scheme of things.

Rd 3 at Riviera +2 6 squares and 4 circles. Some hard pins I thought. Including last 2 where I escaped bird, par. Think it was 14 which was the hardest, no room for error, which I found out. +1 +9 +2 up to now. Art Vandelay

Art VandelayFirst Pint Exhibition Spectacular - Round 4 Back to playing more like I did in rounds 1 and 2 making me wonder what it could’ve been had I stopped yesterday instead of playing round 3. Arguably should’ve been under par but I’ve been stubbornly trying to make the splash work and it cost me a couple shots this time Overall I enjoy the master setting but I haven’t played on anything else yet to compare. I like the challenge and have mostly been focused on making that work. For the most part I can tell when I’ve hit a bad shot right away and go in to trying to correct it. I’ve had very few moments like round 3 where I just haven’t been able to pull it back. Starting to get a feel for the putter and the short game but still hit one every now and then that leaves me wondering what the hell happened

My test rounds for TBC society event.
Adding the right fitting to clubs seems to make a big difference in swing difficulty, at least for me.
I put most of my fitting towards timing and transition, giving the club stats a substantial boost.

An example of how I set up my fitting, I'm using the Sculptor archetype:

Couple nice reds there. I've been swapping greens for purples but use them so only have 1 red.

Going to be a lot of fun learning the new game together and seeing where we all drop into the TGCT scheme of things. What I love about the new game is that this is much different from 2K21….We all have to learn this game and everybody will learn at different stages but it is new. The swing is even new as I have to do it differently now compared to the old game. Most have to learn on how to partial chip and partial splash with consistency…Heck, I had my clubs in the old game perfectly spaced that from 124yds and in was so easy. Now I’m all over the place as I have gaps that I’ll try to close as I play. But most gaps will not close as I’ll partial those shots now and in the old game there were so many get out of jail cards out there….In the week I have had the game I’ve already learned on how to partial chip, do better partial shots from 67 -40 yrd range, had to learn on how to putt again with a much different touch, and yes I like this putting better than in 21. I’m learning the fittings, I’m learning on how to budget my VC. I’m watching streamers on their techniques. I also do not even look at the skill page yet besides swing my remaining points increase each level I play…..I’ll get to that at another day…..What I’m getting at is that this is a new game and it is fun to learn something new each day. I’m going to grab the bull by the horns and see where this journey goes. But I’ll always enjoy the game and to not take it too serious.

It seems you have the best chance of getting better fits by playing well in the Career mode and beating your rivals. That's at least what I have been doing over the weekend!

This is probably where I'm going wrong. I've been mixing my colours to make them look nice rather than looking at what they do I did notice this evening I had a massive gap in my clubs so moved things round accordingly. If you can't learn from the best, who can you learn from? Onward!!!

Since the new meta is the chip from the bunkers I wonder if the designers will make the green bunkers much deeper to somewhat stop that meta and force them to partial splash?
