Thing is though, once people adjust, my first impressions are that an easier game awaits them. Definitely. I of course missed the first 2-3 holes by putting too short, I was not aware of the change. But after that, it is an easier way to putt, at least for my taste. Half a second swing doesnt put your ball off the green anymore. I expected very less 3-putters. |

Doesn’t feel any different to me!? When’s the last time you restarted the game? Couple of hours ago (PS4) but I pull back very slowly with the putter so maybe that why I’ve not noticed anything |

I had gone to a very slow back swing so for me the change is an easy adjustment. I made a lot more putts in last two tour rounds and only one three putt. Like it!

I MIGHT BE WRONG...BUT... If I'm not mistaken, HB can adjust swing speed and putt speed animations without a patch. I believe this happened a few years ago. People were complaining about the swing or putting or something and HB went in and adjusted it with no patch. Again, I may be incorrect in this, but it's how I remember it. One of the admins may know or remember what I'm referring to. Anyway, the putting is very different, but I feel once we train ourselves on how this new putting back swing works, it should give us much more control with our putting. It caught me off guard yesterday evening and I thought my game was broken for a moment...LOL...but with some more rounds uner my belt I'm getting used to it and I think it feels much more natural. It seemed like such a fast motion before, and now it feels much like TGC 2019 which I LOVED  Good luck all |

It feels the same to me but I bring the putter back slowly anyway.

Just played a quick front 9 of my 2nd round and could feel a noticeable difference but I also bring the putter back very slowly and do use the haptic feedback so never really caused any problems but didn’t make me any better either 😜

Hard to believe they’d do this without notice but it’s a big difference. Easier for me. I still suck at the rest of the game but I’ll putt better now.

Interesting!
I didn't notice anything either when I played last night. But, like some of you have mentioned, I couldn't do it the other way, so I had got to where I pulled the stick back super slow. Maybe thats why I didn't notice anything.
I will certainly have to check this out tonight. Because I couldn't hit it with the fast animation, I was pulling back super slow, but since the patch last week, I've been hit with the hitch thing on PC where too slow makes it not even register. If they've fixed this where I can actually putt normally, with a slower animation, I will be elated. Tempo from this game with putting 2019 style will make me a happy dude.

I don’t know if this change was implemented like 1 hour ago or what, but this needs to be talked about. Is this an Xbox only issue? It’s so frustrating, annoying, and frankly not surprising that they would intentionally or unintentionally change the SWING MECHANICS in a golf simulation video game during the opening week of competitive play. To be clear, putting is incredibly slower than it has been. My stats for putting were 90/80/13 (for short/medium/long) when I’m normally 100/100/30. Can we please go back to the way it was? Not fair to have us practice for over a month on a swing then rip the rug out from under us at tip-off. Unfortunatly i think HB really don't care about a non official opening week of competitive play.
I don't feel any changes in the putting mechanics on PC today. My landmarks seem to be the same. Maybe some short putts but not by 3 or 4 yards
Other reviews from PC gamers ?

Definitely changed on Xbox. Feels more like the last version. Much better, feels fluid again.
