Don't think my Sony Bravia has a Freesync option as it is an older 2017 model. May upgrade in the near future but not right now. I don't think the Xbox Series X has an option to turn vsync on or off. I think it is done on a game by game basis and unfortunately PGA 2K21 does not have this option as yet. Don't think the consoles have ever had an option to turn off vsync in it's operating software. On PC if you have VRR set on vsync won't come on unless your fps exceeds your monitor's refresh rate. Most PC games have the option to cap your framerates so vsync is not even needed if you have VRR on. Actually, the original TGC game had an option to turn vsync OFF in its graphics setting menu. I used and it worked well for me on my XBox One. It allowed the game to go from 30 FPS to maybe 35 to 40 FPS. For some reason, they disabled its functionality later on, but the option still appears in the window, even though it no longer works.

Posted over at HB Studios... www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,30942.210.html ********** Update no. 5 Played Qualchan Meadows today. Another new course. x3 swing glitches for the entire round so not bad! x2 in bunkers and x1 practice swing. Screen stutter during ball flight was still present and veeeery annoying! What I'm really finding difficult is to find my tempo again. I'm completely thrown by the glitches and stutter and my mind's a bit screwed (and more than usual. ) Cheers to all Having played the PC version at 60 FPS exclusively for almost two weeks, I played in a 4 players skins match on the One X last night. Two of the players in the group were on Series Xs, the forth on an XBox One S. The idea was to see how long the skins match would last before somebody got dropped, with the two Series X players keeping tally of their swing animation glitches. I couldn't get over the sensation of how it felt like I was swinging the club underwater, at 30 FPS. It was accentuated by the added lag that's part of the multiplayer experience, but it was at least consistent. To our surprise we played nine holes (it was a nine hole match) without anyone being dropped. The real buzz kill came when one of the guys on the Series X stood over a 14 foot birdie putt on the last hole that would have won him 3,200 VC. We'd not had a single swing animation glitch between the two of them to that point. Wouldn't you know it, he gets the most horrifically contorted golfer animation and glitch I've seen yet... his putt might have rolled 6" at best!? I was the beneficiary of his miss, as he was so distraught over what happened he ran his par putt 6 feet past the hole, and I knocked in a four footer for par. I felt guilty winning that way and it shouldn't be happening. Word is that HB Studios is aware of it but can't give us any time frame on a fix. It's got to be something going on with the emulator for the Series X and S, as it's happening to both of them!

Is there an option on the Xbox X to turn on freesync, I read it only works 40fps to 60fps though. I think the Series X VRR works 30fps to 120 fps. But 4 over 60 you need a hdmi 2.1 TV. If PS5 doesn't have freesync I won't be buying one.

I don't have a VRR capable display and the system knows this. I was not aware of this even being there; I guess since it was grayed out, it didn't catch my attention. So if it was there on the One X, it would only work in the range of 40 to 60 FPS? Still, I find that intriguing; thanks for educating me about that!

On PC if you have gsync set to on in the NVidia control panel and also vsync set to on in game or in NVidia control panel vsync will only come on if your framerates exceeds your monitors refresh rate. If this applies to Xbox turning on VRR be it hdmi 2.1 or AMD's Freesync though PGA 2k21's framerate is capped to 30fps there will be no vsync which also can cause latency.

I’ve just started having problems with my elite 2 controller with left stick drift and I could manage with it before but today I can’t even navigate the menus let alone play the game so I have had to change to a normal Xbox wireless controller and decided to just try the one that come with the series x. One thing I don’t understand is that I use the swing vibration more just for the putting but I could do without it on normal shots. So two questions if anyone can help please. Can you change it so it’s just on for putting and not for normal shots? And two is it normal to carry on vibrating for a long time afterwards? I never had this on the elite controller and you would just get a very short kind of buzz when it was at the spot where you need to swing or putt?

The haptic feedback, or vibration, is either on or off. Unfortunately you cannot be selective with this option. Yes it should be a short buzz that does not really linger. Perhaps the new Series X is a little different in that the vibration is felt longer but I wouldn't have thought so. Too long and it becomes very distracting. Do you have another controller to try?

Thanks for your reply! It’s more when I just bring the club back not for a practice swing but just a full backswing and no follow through as I like to do that two or three times before I then do a full swing but it carries on vibrating for a long time. I’ve also tried my Xbox one x controller which does exactly the same. The only controller I haven’t tried is the Xbox one controller so will see what it’s like with that but to be honest the controller that came with the series x suits me quite well as far as tension of the sticks go in comparison with the elite so would like to use this until I get the elite repaired or exchanged. It’s a pity as to be honest my shots have improved without the vibration on but of cause putting would be like starting from the beginning again as I did rely on the vibration and just got used to it so without it I’m all over the place.

Any one else using Series S/X on the current Beer League tournament at Fox Chapel? The swing glitches are terrible with this course. Putting glitches alone I recall: R1 - 2 flubbed putts and lost shots on 8 and 11 R2 - 2 flubbed putts and lost shots on 2 and 6 and two other occasions where I was lucky to back out. R3 - 1 flubbed putt on 2 for a lost shot In addition I'm getting the backswing glitches regularly but these are generally less damaging to the scorecard. SmilingGoats - Jeff can you see anything odd in the API data on the holes I've noted above? It will be the putts that go 6 inches but not into the cup!

I have an Xbox Series X and I am having the same problems. Regular swing glitches and especially putting glitches have cost me quite strokes. I am afraid to play a tournament not that I am a threat to win a tournament. Can't someone get through to HB Studios to get them to fix this and give us 60fps. Why did I buy the new Xbox if this is what I am going to get from playing the Golf Club 2k21? Us Xbox Series x players need some help here.

I assume we are effectively playing it in some form of backward compatibility mode so they could simply say it is not supported on Series S/X.

If you parse HB Studios official answer to the question about backward compatibility on the next-gen consoles, PGA TOUR 2K21 is supported in backward compatibility mode: "There will not be a bespoke version of the game for the new platforms but PGA TOUR 2K21 will support backward compatibility."From what I understand, the Series X and S are emulating a One X (Series X) and an XBox One S (Series S) in backward compatibility mode. If the PS5 can emulate the PS4 and run 2K21 glitch free in backward compatibility mode, so should Series X and S, IMO.
