Posted over at HB Studios... www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,30942.210.html ********** Update no. 5 Played Qualchan Meadows today. Another new course. x3 swing glitches for the entire round so not bad! x2 in bunkers and x1 practice swing. Screen stutter during ball flight was still present and veeeery annoying! What I'm really finding difficult is to find my tempo again. I'm completely thrown by the glitches and stutter and my mind's a bit screwed (and more than usual. ) Cheers to all

I forgot to add are others seeing issues on the driving range as well? I'm experiencing a swing glitch on average about 2 shots in every 10.

Curiously, I only saw the issue about once per round on the Beer League (Grand Golf and Racquet Club). I played 2 good rounds on that course Monday then played 1 round at Kill Devil Hills in a society and 2 rounds at Wealden Heath all of which I suffered the glitch 4-5 times per round. I then finished up my last 2 rounds for the Beer League and again only once per round. Very strange and I'm wondering if the courses have anything do to with it but I don't know enough about that.

Are you also experience screen stutter (or stutter in the graphics) during ball flight? One of the biggest causes of micro stuttering and hitching (sudden pauses in Framerates) is vsync. If they capped the game at 60 fps those who use VRR would have really smooth framerates as VRR would kick in when the frames dropped below 60 fps. Without vsync screen tearing occurs with framerates above the tv's refresh rate. The Xbox series X has proper VRR up to 120fps now. Has anyone with the new system tried the game with VRR set to on I think freesync will work with hdmi 2.0. Also is anyone playing the game on a hdmi 2.1 TV with hdmi 2.1 VRR?

I don't have an Xbox so can't check. On my PC I set up gsync through the NVidia control panel not my monitor.

May upgrade in the near future but not right now. I don't think the Xbox Series X has an option to turn vsync on or off. I think it is done on a game by game basis and unfortunately PGA 2K21 does not have this option as yet.

On PC if you have VRR set on vsync won't come on unless your fps exceeds your monitor's refresh rate. Most PC games have the option to cap your framerates so vsync is not even needed if you have VRR on.

Posted on HB Studios update no. 6 on my experiences with new Series X and the dreaded swing glitch (and screen stutter)! www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php/topic,30942.210.html I seem to have developed another issue which I was hoping others may comment. Using the new Series X controller in the last couple of days I've found that say after x1 round I go to play a second round but the left and right analog sticks do not work. I can navigate menus with the A/B/X/Y buttons and quit a round to get back to the main menu. Also I can use the D-pad. I just can't swing or move left or right to aim. Very strange. changed batteries but no good. turned controller on and off but no good. Swap to my older Xbox One controller and I'm back playing. Power cycle the Xbox and I can use the Series X controller again. Anyone else experienced this? It's very strange and only just started happening. Batteries do not seem to have an effect. I'd say an issue with the new Series X controller but all buttons work except for the left and right analog sticks. They work x1 round and then not on the next. Cheers again

For what it's worth, I've played 9 rounds today on the Series X, and can confidently say tempo feels MUCH improved. The timing felt a little different at first (I felt like I needed to slow my swing down), but now I feel VERY in control after getting used to it. Never had that feeling on the Xbox One with this game, especially on master. I think I had 1 or 2 slows in the entirety of 9 rounds... that would be impossible for me on the OG Xbox One. In my last two rounds I shot -6 and -7 on next week's TGC-CC course with the usual master settings, and that's probably my average score recently on the OG Xbox One. So when you add the swing glitch into that (which cost me one putt per round), I felt like I was already playing better on the Series X. We'll see how this turns out next week when I play my actual rounds - definitely could've just been feeling good today, I'm sure we've all been there with this game. Hopefully the swing glitch can get sorted and really make this game awesome. Oh, last thing, I've felt like the slower I pull back my putts, the more likely it is for the swing glitch to appear. I've started pulling back very fast for short ones to try to avoid the glitch. Seems to be working (or maybe by pulling back fast I just notice the glitch quicker and then realize not to swing forwards)... need more time to test this out. Agree completely with your tempo comments. Its the swing glitch that's ruining the fun. If they get this sorted it will be bloody great! Do you see screen stutter during ball flight and when using the scout cam? I think this is what is referred to as frame rate drops? I have this problem also. This doesn't impact the gameplay as such, just the experience. Ans I find it nigh on impossible to swing putter back quickly. Cheers I have not noticed stuttering or tearing during ball flight or when using the scout cam. Will pay more attention to it when I play today though and report back.

I will try and look for it next time.

I've also had way more consistency with tempo. I've probably had one or two very slows and red slows over 20+ rounds and I felt it after I swung. I was getting 3 or 4 per round randomly on my OG XB1.
I also feel like I can get the desired result most of the time too if I need a red fast for distance. Otherwise, perfects and gray fasts have been pretty consistent which is my desired stock shot.
Like others have said, once these glitches are fixed, this is a pretty ideal game on the SX.

As usual it seems HB was not prepared to bring this series to the next level consoles. Laughable really. How do they stay afloat?

You sir are preaching the sermon that needs to be preached, as it seems to me like the only thing standing between Series X owners and 60 FPS bliss is an edit to a line of code in Unity that allows an OPTION for the vsync to be set at 60 Hz and/or OFF! Is there any reason you can think of why Microsoft would not want them to do it? Is there some sort of a prohibition in effect here of which I'm unaware? It's looking very much like I'm going to have to be buying a VRR capable HDTV here not to far down the road. I get the sense more and more developers are going to be tapping into it. It sounds like the best solution to a multitude of problems!
