So it mustn't be an issue with the controller as such but the console or how the game operates on the console. I'm more and more convinced that it's a framerate / latency issue. My XB1 started an update, so i decided to check how this will affect my swing tempo and it was disastrous. Same happens on courses with big waterfalls or a lot of details. To top it all off, i can easily hit 8 perfect tempo swings out of 10 on the driving range with the least forgiving driver. Would never happen playing a round online. For sure, there are other things involved here, but the framerates are the most obvious for me. The game should give us the option to turn VSync off, cause that's the s.o.b. causing all the trouble, i believe. So if it's as simple as the game developers providing an option in-game for vsync on/off then why has this not happened. Could it potentially create another issue within the game which HB are aware of? I'm not IT tech savvy so don't really know but just trying to think a little logically about this.

I'm not that tech savvy myself, it's just my personal observation. Perhaps it won't solve the issues altogether, but i'm pretty sure it could help a little. Just think about before we had 60 Hz...it was a mess imho. Maybe we'll never know why XB1 and this game don't like each other too much, it's a little bit of this and a little bit of that...at the end of the day, it's still baffling why this only happens on XB1 and nothing has been done about this since, well, TGC1 afaik. Here's hoping that the new game will be a huge step forward; wouldn't hold my breath though.

It would create the issue of screen tearing when framerate is above the 60hz refresh rate nothing else. Screen tearing is funny, sometimes you don't get it some times it is bad. On PC if you are getting framerates below your refresh rate you turn off Vsync as it not only lowers your framerate you get more input lag also. What baffles me is that you now have the vsync 30/60 Hz option on consoles which is fine if your framerates are always above 60 FPS but you get no options to keep them that way. I have said on the HB forum why are there no options for 1440p on the Xbox one X or the Series X. Why are there no graphics options. Simply changing sky quality and cloud quality down from Ultra to high (which does not really change the look of the sky at all)I go from 45 to 65 to 70 to 100 FPS. I also use VRR so the game's tempo feels consistent from course to course, online or offline. I think if someone with an Xbox Series S/X and a hdmi 2.1 VRR TV had the option to use it for this game they would seeing much more consistent tempo. With the option to use that with up to 120 FPS which XBox is capable of.

I just don’t get it. I played Crazy Canuck’s society event yesterday, with settings mimicking TGC settings, and shot -4. Immediately played my CC round, shot +5. Obviously it’s a different course, but the swing just felt completely different. Society event striping perfects and greys for days. CC round…had no clue where the ball was going on any given swing. Today, same thing. CC round was a 💩show of red fasts and slows…go to the society event for round 2 and hitting perfects all over the place. No recalibrate session in between, literally 30 mins between rounds. I don’t mind some minor inconsistencies, that’s golf in a nutshell, but when the tempo feels the same and gives wildly different results, that’s where I have an issue.

My tempo was way off for R3 & R4 on CC today. Never played worse before on TGCT. Double bogeys, triples, even a quad with plenty of shots into hazards because i couldn't hit perfects at all. The game feels absolutely awful right now - swinging not knowing what you gonna get and not having any control over it whatsoever. It became a really frustrating and tough grind.

Encouraging news gang, this is the response received from 2K:
"Hello Daniel,
Thanks for reaching out to us at 2K Support, and for sharing all this information with us!
We genuinely appreciate your feedback and I can assure you that I'll be sending this off to the development team to be seen! Once I get this sent out, there likely won't be a direct response from them so I won't be able to provide you any updates on your feedback.
Rest assured, it's going into the appropriate hands!
If you have any last-minute questions for me, please give me a shout, but if not then thank you again for all your help!"
Based on previous tickets I've submitted and the responses I've gotten, I view this one as rather encouraging. Given that they're not requesting more data or info (videos/data/etc), it leads me to believe they're aware of this issue at this point - likely from all the discussion here and apparently over at the HB forums as well. Hopefully it leads to something, even if it's just for 2k22 and results in a more level playing field there.
However, on a personal accomplishments note, I also wanted to mention that I've finished T7 on Elite this week and should be picking up 2 promo marks. It's challenging, but we can definitely have some success!

Congrats Dan! On both fronts!!
I don't know how you do it? How often are you playing? I play maybe 2hrs a week starting at like 10pm so I don't have any consistency built in.

Probably ~3 rounds per day. So around 1-1.5 hours/day. Definitely was playing more than that though a few weeks ago, but now the weather is nice so I play less.

I will say - I calibrated again last night per Dan's advice and have found my swing to be in a little bit better shape. I have found that a slight pause at the top of my swing produces better results. I seemed to hit more perfects off the tee(not more than 3 in a row!) but felt better that the fasts that I was hitting were less and less. My iron play still needs more work but I felt better about my rounds.
Thanks Dan and everyone else who has provided advice to me on my swing. I just need to practice more often. My goal is to shoot E par.

I've recalibrated. I say a prayer before each round. I wear wolfsbane around my neck every evening or morning to ward off evil. I drink a couple shots of tequila to loosen my fingers up. I bought ultra Metronome which helps with timing. I've gathered enough data that indicates that I should be playing my rounds between 3 and 4:45AM, EST, for optimum results.
That and the Titleists...........
Game on.
